@@saint6404 Ever since quarantine, i've found myself getting lazier and lazier, not going to the gym, not getting work done, and not having enough energy to do anything, I get tired doing the simplest of tasks
Hey you had mentioned about water only fasts in your turning thirty video. Will you be kind enough and consider sharing you're experience and how to go about it? You're videos are really informative, keep it up!
commenting for the algorithm before I go back to my EM rotation. Dude - clinicals in med school is tough. How am I supposed to get meaningful studying done when I'm in the ED 3pm-midnight? I can't fall asleep until 3am and I feel ZONKED the next day
1. adjust schedule, keep up with mini selfcare sessions, and use the cases you encounter in the er to study in small chunks. one page, one paragraph.... if you are suturing someone, review something about suturing. small pieces of information reviewed. I was trained in the dinosaur age with paper, I often carried a pocket review book on er for example and read a page or paragraph when i saw a patient ... it helped integrate patient with what I needed to know.
Great video! Having watched all of your routine videos I think the inclusion of general philosophies that guided your actions (like mitigating stress in the morning or deliberating choosing habits) made this video really effective. I know you've said in a previous video you love health-tracking devices (I think in your applewatch review) - probably both for your business and general interest. Do you think the Oura ring is worth it for most people? (Maybe an update on cool health tech you have heard about or are watching the development of?) Keep up the great work bro!
What do you do when you wake up in a cold sweat and a gut full of anxiety for all of the things you have to do today, the things you didn't get done yesterday, and the things you absolutely will not have time to do tomorrow, and the crushing weight of everything falling out from under you and wishing you were on a deserted island somewhere where nobody can ever see you ever again? Because you know there is no way you can actually make any of all this work
how do you tell your chronotype? Like the video. I am in a different situation now, but having consistent self care is really important. I think I did the best balance in my first two years of medical school...
Can I work during my medical school if not atleast in the weekends as a pharmacist to cover all my medical school fees is that possible..??Or I cannot do it In USA....? Can you plzz reply........ I want to become an orthopedic surgeon.... Plzz give a reply...
What about a schedule for a Dad of 5 working 40+ hours a week, taking 12-15 credits. Is Medical School something that’s an option or a dream that I need to wake up from and face reality
Agreed. On Ortho I would go in at 4:30 every day even if we were rounding later snd would crush Anki after prerounding and preparing the list. Worked for me.
Oh, Kevin, you are a wonderful doctor, surgeon. I really want to be like you. But i am scared. I am not scared of those difficulties, i can work hard. Only thing that scares me is math🙁and physics, maybe it seems little bit hilarious to say that but. I really want to become a doctor just like you doctor Kevin. It's just, i don't have mathematical thinking, i try to understand math as hard as i can. I am not changing my mind because i am good at biology and chemistry, but as soon as i start thinking about fact that i don't know math or physics and don't have logical thinking, my motivation just completely ruins. Can experienced doctor suggest something?! Like is it difficult to understand medicine if you are bad at math or physics, should i still follow my dreams or should i give up on it? I don't know... I want to be a doctor and at least help people but i am afraid that my brain wont give me opportunity... love you guys who watches this channel. I understand a lot of things here.💗💗💓💞
Hey Nika, I am a med student and the math and physics that comes up in our courses is introductory college level. We are never crunching numbers and the Physics and math is always applied to how the body works (and not like a generic ball trajectory of something) which I find engaging. Physics was my weakest subject in college and I feel fine in med school with what is expected from us in regards to math and physics. Some specific specialities involve more physics but you can choose not to pursue them and not have to worry about those areas of medicine. I say keep pursuing your goal and studying hard!!!
@@johnlevine3384 Mr. John, i also wonder what kind of physics do you learn in medicine?! Is it about radiation and atom that can injure you?( i find this topic very intresting) or calculations as i do in my school now?!
How do you manage your daily schedule when there are others in your life? I can imagine a strict schedule is difficult to maintain daily if you have an SO or kids or flatmates. Sometimes the nighttime can be unpredictable.
this video is a gold mine, thank you! do you avoid drinking anything (other than water) until breakfast? just wondering if you consider caffeine too stress-inducing in the morning?
Lol, since we started super late and have to do an entrance exam to med school(like literally) after this year of premed, my squedule I belive is way tougher than a plastic surgeon's squedule 😂 Edit: If you ask why I am in one of the most competitive universities in Lebanon, which only accepts top 5percent of entire students to go to med school, after 1st year. And med school in this premed school is for 6 years. So same as a normal university, but you get into it first year without actually the need to do an Mcat as it is know world wild that this uni which offurs 60credits in 2semesters/first year is tough to make it through. So, Definetly a 12 hour studying schedule or you can't make it to first year medicine without repeating or joining another uni(which I can't do that) because the top premed and medschool that I'm at is public, so free, and no cash to get into a private uni. So wish me luck as it is my dream to become any surgeon, mainly cardiac or Plastic surgeon. Ik these are two completely different orientations, but I just love them both as much as I love the other. But before dreaming big I've got to make this time effortful. ♥️, have a nice day everyone.
I guess people do what they have got to do to cope, but I think, and I say this respectfully, I think this fellows rubber band is wound up way to tight. My advise, find / choose a life style, a vocation that is less demanding / stress full and become a more calm person, and life will be so much the better for this person and those he is connected to relationally.
Why STATISTICS on your T-shirt? The only subject that I might get a B on this semester! It’s stupid bc of the prof and most of the class or half of the class I should say, has failed the midterm:)

My schedule is surprisingly very similar to this. I'm shook. I fell like you just described my routine
🙌🏻
Stop procrastinating while watching a video about being productive 😂
Why you gotta call us out like this
Now we want a weekend routine. A fun time is as important as being productive to avoid burnout.
I find batching my work and having long breaks in between helpful too. I also tend to have energy in the morning and right before i head to bed
Thanks so much Kevin I needed this! Have been working up early like you advised and that simple thing is changing my life!
Hey Kevin, how do you stick to your schedule and keep your motivation?
you repeat yourself and struggle through until it comes naturally. discipline.

It all depends on your situation , what seems to be the problem? Are you not getting enough sleep and it's hard for you to wake up?

You should do a video on your schedule when your were in residency.
What’s the schedule like when u were in your clinical years with so much work, clinics, studying, researches etc

My first year medical school class has a 44-year old father who earned his degree after serving in the military. Your goals are definitely possible!
Its definitely possible...but its a long road even after residency so it needs passion and commitment
Rotations make studying productivity so hard when you are most productive in the morning. Has been beyond frustrating in the third year of med school.
