It should come naturally from a place of confidence, self respect and respect for the other person. If one is satisfied with one self and has sincere appreciation for the other person's feelings, things will flow.
There are, of course, people who are very good at minding this stuff on the spot and manipulating other's emotions for their own gain. These are called con men. Don't be a con man.
