I’ll never get tired of house saying something random and then it slow zooms on his face cus he’s had a eureka moment
I read this as it happened 😂
I wish I had eureka moments like this. Would solve all my problems so much. I legit had a moment like this once and was never clever enough to do it again
Yeah cos he's handsome af
Yes 🙌
we always called it a House moment - and so will you now(its contagious)
"Stop that jew" is my favorite line in the show besides "it's never lupus"
Mental yentel is my favorite
it’s. never. lupus.
Is there ever an episode where it is lupus?
Except for that time....

it's like how my phone charger only works in a specific position.
Anthony Delano clean out your port
NotSpooky na he has a broken charger
@@notspooky1990 Better yet, get a phone that supports wireless charging.
The real culprit is the strain relief in the wire leading to the charger. Too many times they get bent at angles bad for the wiring inside causing it to break and only when its back in exactly the right spot as shown is when it works. Tech here, seen it thousands of times.
BUY A FUCKING CABLE BUY IT
2:20 “Her pleasure centers are lighting up like a Hanukkah bush“
It’s the little throwaway lines like that which set this show apart from anything else on television🤣🤣
one of my faves is when he was quarreling with foreman for the position of diagnostician and he tells him not to write on the whiteboard because it's called "WHITEboard for a reason"

Literally the slickest public mental testing he's ever done.

If i ever get sick, and my doctor can't figure it out, I'm sending a call out to Hugh Laurie. Sure he's not a real doctor, but it would make me feel better knowing House will get the message.
Isn’t one of his parents a doctor?
"Make her do that again"
"You do it both ways right?"
I can't with this episode 😂
Why are British actors so good at doing American accents?
Where do you think 'American' accents came from? They're developments of English ones, of course.
@@steeltrap3800 sure, but I've yet to hear a lot of American people do well on British accents.
@@karlacrous8361 Maybe because the language isn't backwards compatible? :D
@@karlacrous8361
It's interesting. I wonder if people with accents from the USA find it more difficult, or they simply don't need to learn UK accents because so much material is made in USA about USA figures (or fantasy BS which can be any language).
American English is easier to pronounce.
It takes a bit more effort to do the UK accent.
For example, think of the word water. In US it's w-ah-ter, you slightly open your mouth to say it. In UK, it's w-oh-ter. You use more muscles in your face to say the words.
American English is a simplified form of UK English.
Hugh Laurie is such an amazing actor. That's not to diminish the rest of the co-stars either. Every moment on the screen is perfection.
hugh laurie is an amazing everything, have you heard his music??
He wasn’t kidding about having 14 children. “Go forth and multiply.”
something i love is that this show shows procedure relatively well even with the obviously exaggerated characters. like, you’re never supposed to guarantee that the patient will be alright because that’s a lie, so assuring them in other ways and explaining how what you’re doing should help is the recommended form of comforting them. and this show is the only medical show i have seen where they follow that.
While it is true that there are many, many, MANY different ways Judaism is practiced, I cannot imagine anyone ever choosing to forgo something lifesaving for ritual significance in a situation like this. We have something called "pikuach nefesh" which basically means that saving a life/ staying healthy is the holiest, most important thing, which House mentions. Takes precedence over all others. So for example, fasting on Yom Kippur, the holiest day, is an obligation. However, not eating for a full day has a serious impact on my health, and so not only am I supposed to eat, I am basically prohibited from fasting if it would damage my health.
One, she doesn't have a lifetime of obeying the rules drilled into her to the point she wouldn't even think about questioning or bucking them. (Although admittedly "born agains" do tend to be more strictly devout than lifers.)
And two, it wasn't a life _saving_ procedure, only a _possibly_ life extending one. She thought the chances were good that she was going to die anyways, without being able to have her "wedding night" ritual.
Pikachu I chose you
" I cannot imagine anyone ever choosing to forgo something lifesaving for ritual significance in a situation like this."
I cannot imagine BEING someone who does that, but it still happens.
I wonder how many times House has said "Idiot" throughout the whole show.
Not as often as he popped Vicodin.
Somebody somewhere has probably made a clip video of it ;-)
Too many to count
Just realized that could make for a really bizarre drinking game :-)
"He calls her Eshet Chayil, Woman of Valor, strength and honor are her clothing and she laughts at the future. Because she's an idiot."

Man going back to rewatch I realized how much house liked chase and chase liked house - it was like house was teaching him to take over his mantle the whole time and I'm sure that was not the plan in the beginning
I always loved the philosophical debates in House episodes

"Hey, Stop that Jew" I almost choked on my coffee.
One of the most easily relatable illustrations of what a change in perspective can reveal. ♡
You do it both ways? The Ultrasound!😂😂😂😂😂
"So you can never watch Star Wars Again?" -> My man asking the important questions!!
"and by god i of course mean you" will never not hit me... like thats literally chase's relationship with house summed up in one sentence...
This is nonsense. I was raised Orthodox. There is no rabbi who would not demand she perform the surgery immediately.
Exactly. It's like the writers of the episode did literally no research for it at all... Talk to ONE rabbi, and they'll tell you that pikuach nefesh invalidates the entire premise of the episode!
The rabbi cant demand anything from her. He can say his opinion but after that the decission is hers
Jonah Safern Her husband did tell her that the Torah wants for us to preserve life. SHE didn’t want the surgery. Ultimately, if she don’t want the surgery even after her husband begged her to remember about life preservation, I doubt she would listen to a rabbi. Of course, this is a medical drama sometimes the way the story plays out medically isn’t necessarily how it would go down for real. It’s dramatic fiction.
@@jazzybash1 True, fair enough.
Yep! Any rule in Judaism can be broken to save someone's life (the religious ones, not really the don't murder ones, but even those to a lesser extent). I don't fast for Yom Kippur because my meds require food. Designated drivers don't have to get super drunk on Purim. If you're starving to death, you can break Kosher. The Talmud specifically references breaking the "don't work on Shabbat" rule to pull someone out from under a cart.
"You do it both ways? right.."... bohahahahahaha.. classic!
Props to the writers of this show.

"It's never House" - Lupus
Wow, so converting to Judaism and getting married almost killed her.
Not really. A life of partying and dancing could and would have shaken that kidney loose eventually. Maybe even sooner.
Actually, Judaism discourages conversion to Judaism. The only way to be Jewish is your mother is Jewish.
@@iankravitz5723 I know for a fact one can convert to Judaism. They do discourage it but it's still doable if you can find someone well versed in the religion enough (who is also of the faith) to walk you through it. Their main concern is they want you to be sure, since there's a lot of rules. I know because I was following someone on Tumblr once who was going through the conversion process.

Most Christians couldn't name all ten commandments. I'm guessing a lot of Jews are the same.
