I'm honestly surprised this type of mix up doesn't happen more often. Bad accidents can render a face more or less paste. When I was in college, at any given point, I had 5 or 6 girls in my field of vision that looked more or less the same down to the hairstyle/color and type of clothes lol.
I’m honestly surprised why the boyfriend didn’t recognize her hands. Hands are so distinctive and having two women, even ones that look alike, have identical hands is highly unlikely
I once saw an episode of CSI like this: two girls in a drink-drive car crash. One mother mistakenly smothered her daughter to death, believing her daughter had been killed by the surviving girl.

House is one of the few drama shows I love. The writing was pretty good, the one liners and plot twists were memorable, personal issues and dilemmas were realistic and human, and most importantly the show knew when to end. Unlike another medical show that continues to drone on House will have a fond spot in my heart.
Yeah, not to mention his legal and ethical trouble for dislosing sensitive information from someone else's file to someone outside of family or medical proxy...
daer devvyl Ok lets assume it would be realistic. Think house would still have a job? I dont think so, end of show. just my opinion, not hate edit: spelling
This same mix-up happened with the Humboldt Broncos hockey team bus accident in 2018. About half the team & staff was killed, the rest injured, from minor to paralyzed. The players were about the same age, height, build, fitness, skin color and hair color (having dyed their hair for the playoffs). The bodies were ID'd as well as they could. Two days later, "Xavier woke up and said, 'I'm not Parker Tobin." Brutal.
Injuries so bad that the Parent's couldn't even tell that it wasn't their own Son's, yet everyone was super ticked-off at the Hospital for making the incorrect Identification of both Xavier and Parker. If the Parent's couldn't tell that they weren't dealing with their own Child, how would "strangers" be able to tell. With such a horrific accident and the boy's looking so much alike because of colouring their hair for the playoff's etc. ; I think that the EMS personnel, the Doctors, and the Hospital staff did a terrific job by only mixing up two of the boys. Sad and shocking yes, however I feel that given the urgency required to ID the "similar looking" team mates, the Hospital personnel should have been commended rather than ridiculed and criticized for the mix up.
I was about to mention this as well. As Cristine Cristine pointed out, if parents can't tell how can first responders. In an accident that bad a mix up bound to happen, I honestly wasn't surprised by that news(would have been surprising if there hadn't been a mix up). But I did feel bad for the parents, and the medical personnel who were working on the team, they were probably equally as surprised and distressed by the news. They didn't deserve the backlash people gave them, they were doing so much at one time and with little time for some of the players
Lauren Quist I recall an accident when a school bus collided with a train. There were so many badly injured kids that the hospital staff wrote their names on their foreheads with markers. It seemed a bit weird to me. Like, maybe just write it on a chart and put the chart in front of them?
@@daerdevvyl4314 Likely the Congers School Bus incident. 1972. Overloaded school bus with 50 students aboard failed to stop at a rural grade crossing at the bottom of a hill. 15000 ton coal train cut the bus in half and dragged the front part of the bus over 1000 feet before the engineer got her stopped. Several kids were killed, most were maimed, and the closest hospital only had 7 surgical rooms. First police officer on scene confirmed that at least 5 of the kids had suffered full amputation of limbs at the crash site. Since it was 1972, there was no 911, no Life-Flight, no cell phones, and the only reason help arrived so fast was the mother of one of the boys that had just boarded the bus was doing dishes and watched the crash from her kitchen window up the hill. He was ejected from the bus and was crushed between the remains of the front part of the bus and the leading locomotive. I remember this clearly because I read a part of an interview with the train engineer as an example of evocative writing as part of a journalism class. "The memory that remains etched in his (the engineer, I have forgotten his name, sadly) mind is the sight of the rows of faces pressed against the windows, mouths open in silent screams, their tiny hands raised as if to ward off the 15000 ton monster that now roared down upon them." I cannot imagine what that man went through. Or the lady that saw her son die from her kitchen window, but didn't know it until the next day when they found his body between the metal pieces. Or the policeman who arrived first, or the firemen and paramedics and doctors that worked to save what could be saved. The parents that had to find out their child was dead, or mangled, or maimed. The priest that had to give what comfort could be given in such a situation, or the neighbor whose child had been spared and still had to face his/her friend whose child had not. I am thankful that I do not know.
I like how house almost never tells a patient theyre wrong directly, its always "either you did something wrong, probably by accident, or this very accurate test or symptom is wrong" even when its more or less gaurenteed hes right he always discreetly acknolages that he could be wrong or the test could have fucked up and it only adds to his charismatic douchbag personality
It's cool how they took cases that happened IRL and made them into the show. This was a case ,I believe, where there was an accident where a semi truck hit a passenger van. The two girls looked almost identical and the one girls purse was found open and near the one girls body. They had a funeral and burial fort the wrong girl. Mr.Ballen covered the story not too long ago
I guess this was a happy ending for someone. Just not for Meghan's boyfriend. So tragic and uplifting all at once. One of my favorite episodes on the show

This episode was bittersweet and heartbreaking. On one hand, the guy never lost his love. But the one that did never got to be with his gf before she passed. It’s extremely sad
When I would get ready for school sometimes I’d leave my house without seeing my mom because I was late and she’d always say “I need to see what you’re wearing, what if something happens to you and I can’t even tell the police what your wearing.” I was always like, “you remember I’m going to school right, nothing is going to happen.” Then I watch this episode.
I love how this episode is all about house needing a team, house not needing a team, yada yada. but the show only ever needs a team so they can be wrong long enough for house to come up with the solution in the end
What I found most upsetting about this is that these two people stayed by the side of someone they believed to be their loved one, but wasn't. Megan passed away and they weren't there because of a misidentification 😥. But at least she had Liz's boyfriend even though he was a stranger? Well that's what hurt me the most

This makes me glad I'm heavily tattooed - at least they'll know it's me
That's a really good reason to get a tattoo tbh
Birth defects help too; even old injuries.
I guess you haven't see the mri tatoo episode🤷
Lol its also a great way to comfort yourself after many regrets😂😂

I'm honestly surprised this type of mix up doesn't happen more often. Bad accidents can render a face more or less paste. When I was in college, at any given point, I had 5 or 6 girls in my field of vision that looked more or less the same down to the hairstyle/color and type of clothes lol.
the alternative would be having the police check fingerprints. Hospitals don't have that ability.
Not just women, but all people. Having work in retail, I saw enough people that can easily take each other place with small facial/body adjustments.
@@drmayeda1930 that only works if the persons finger prints are on file with the police.....
I’m honestly surprised why the boyfriend didn’t recognize her hands. Hands are so distinctive and having two women, even ones that look alike, have identical hands is highly unlikely
Dustin T yes that's why serial killers keep killing the same times of woman. They all remind them of the first.
Well now he knows his gf isn't a liar. So all's well
And not a alcoholic ! Yey !
Yeah, about that...
Party and cheers will follow
Well he would rather want the opposite now...

I once saw an episode of CSI like this: two girls in a drink-drive car crash. One mother mistakenly smothered her daughter to death, believing her daughter had been killed by the surviving girl.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Talk about a The Mist ending.

I love how half of houses cases are solved by Wilson making some off hand comment that coincidentally has to do with the situation
Think I read that House's conversations with Wilson help to jog his memory and thats why he has them.
Wilson was intentionally written as his Dr Watson
I love how in almost ending of House, he knows what hes doing and thinking and once Wilson comes in and talks to him for even a minute, he understands what he needs to do. House needs Wilson as much as he think he needs him.

In my opinion this is the best House episode. An impressive twist and an absolutely heartbreaking ending.
I can't help but smile at the end of that. I mean sure they found out that Megan was actually dead but the way that house solves each case gives me pleasure.
John John I agree, but I just can’t watch the show because House is such an asshole. In the final episode, all his coworkers and underlings should have beaten him to death.
Then you may be a sociopath.
Thank you

She is neither.
What a soul shattering thing to have happened. I can't even imagine the pain of the one family and the relief of the other family.
This really happened. Only the girl was in a coma for 5 weeks. Her family buried her friend thinking it was her. And the family who was staying with the girl in the hospital thought their daughter was alive for 5 weeks... and missed burying their real daughter. I'm sure they exhumed her remains but still. I can't imagine how horrible it must have been...
Man. All that wasted money on a funeral. Sure their daughter is alive, but they're never getting back the hundreds of dollars they wasted.
yes.. In a f/up interview, the girl who survived does not remember any of the trauma that happened. Amazing how the brain will shield the psyche from certain events. The surviving girl went on to complete college and has a family now.... so sad for the other family who had to rebury their own daughter who died. This life has so much pain, but it is very short in many ways

This actually happened with two girls in Michigan who looked alike. They were both in an accident and were mixed up. The wrong family was coming to visit the girl who survived.
House is one of the few drama shows I love. The writing was pretty good, the one liners and plot twists were memorable, personal issues and dilemmas were realistic and human, and most importantly the show knew when to end. Unlike another medical show that continues to drone on House will have a fond spot in my heart.
Greys?
That woman has aged so badly. I would quit just becuz of that. I would rather stay young n dewy skinned in the celluloid

"The memory that remains etched in his (the engineer, I have forgotten his name, sadly) mind is the sight of the rows of faces pressed against the windows, mouths open in silent screams, their tiny hands raised as if to ward off the 15000 ton monster that now roared down upon them."
I cannot imagine what that man went through.

Director needs an award for this show. The plot twist, funny moments, all of it is unbearable

What I found most upsetting about this is that these two people stayed by the side of someone they believed to be their loved one, but wasn't. Megan passed away and they weren't there because of a misidentification 😥.
