With all due respect I believe that statement is incorrect. Many heroes of the Bible were rich (Abraham, Solomon, Job just to name a few). The Bible also has many warning about being lazy and not working. You and I are rich by the standards of some of our brothers and sisters in Africa, Asian, South America. God calls the rich to be generous. It is greed which God hates.

And the love of money … not money itself or being rich… but it’s where your heart is
