    I would love to reconcile that Danny's wife Rosemary Carroll is on record doubting Kurt's death narrative.

    This is such a good interview. Danny Goldberg sounds like a really nice, thoughtful and empathetic person, which I'm sure are rare qualities to have for managers. I read his book a few months ago so it was great getting even more info on Kurt and Nirvana through this video. Thanks so much, and all the best from Germany :)

    I vividly remember the day when the news report on the radio announced his death. It was traumatic for many. Unbelievable it's going to be 30 years this April.

    7:55 So Goldberg's first time seeing Kurt on stage was probably the first time he saw Courtney too since both Hole and Nirvana opened for Dinasour Jr. at the Hollywood Palladium on June 14, 1991. I think his mind is playing tricks since Hole and Nirvana did play at the Palace later that year after Nevermind was released, on October 26, 1991(there's a soundcheck clip on Montage of Heck with Dave making fun of Courtney's curly hair). Great interview so far!

    I wonder what he thinks of his wife on tape saying Kurt may have been murdered. The excuse I always get is "what has she said lately." She broke attorney client privilege and could have lost her license, and others around her probably asked her to keep quiet.

    Am I misunderstanding Danny when he says Kurt had complete creative control, and then some minutes later says that Kurt was upset about the final mix of Heart Shaped Box? At about the 25 minute mark?

    • @jakewarinnerpodcast
      @jakewarinnerpodcast  5 месяцев назад

      I may be wrong and I don't want to speak for Danny or Kurt, but it seems like he didn't like that the vocals were quiet in the original mix, so they remixed it later and boosted the vocal how he wanted. Sounds like it was just a disagreement with Steve Albini who did the original

    • @aliya_punkenglish
      @aliya_punkenglish 5 месяцев назад +2

      Watch Steve Albini master class at SAE Australia where closer to the end he gives his side of the story and also explains the details behind the remastering of the 2013 anniversary deluxe version, which in his words sounds exactly how Kurt and the guys wanted it to sound.

Another truth is: I would feel so stupid to speak on something I clearly wouldnt know anything about except what I read in the papers/tabloid, it would really make me feel uneducated and dumb.
