Fans are dying to talk about seeing Ahch-To in the newest episode of the Acolyte but there is strong evidence that suggests it is actually the planet bal'demnic from the legends novel Darth Plagueis further suggesting we may see Emperor Palpatines master in the Acolyte.

I thought the same! a species change in an interpretation of legends to canon doesn't bother me too much and I think could still make a really compelling potential dynamic between Qimir and Plagueis similarly to that of which shown in the Plagueis novel.

I wanted to see more of Osha and Qimir. I’m really intrigued to see how their new relationship unfolds. He called out the Jedi stigma against tapping into your emotions as a path to the dark side as a matter of semantics, almost as if Qimir doesn’t view the force as two sides of a coin but rather one singular force with different ways to wield it.

    • @Casualfan101
      @Casualfan101 3 месяца назад +19

Not every episode has to be action packed bruh the story moved forward. they found the dead Jedi, osha is being tempted by the dark side, her master is dealing with internal struggle and going rogue, Mae is found out, We get some hints to the strangers back story, it’s revealed in show that the helmet is cortosis (ppl who don’t keep up with Star Wars outside of just watching it wouldn’t know that for sure) and it’s native to the planet they’re on so he’s been there a while considering all the battle dmg on his helmet, we got the first look at the lightsaber whip in use, etc. were there some questionable parts yes like resetting the droid like it’s a smartphone but honestly that’s nit picking. I honestly don’t get everyone’s problem with this episode, I think that it’s just the fact that episode 5 was like the climax point and then we get a slower episode right after and everyone is using that as a comparison.

I really liked this episode. The themes of teaching and corrupting is really interesting. Like who is teaching and who is corrupting? Sol is becoming one of my favorite characters. Lee Jung Jae is killing it 👏 some of the dialog is a bit corny at times. I like how they are bringing in lots of legends content back into the main continuity. I'm looking forward to them bringing Abeloth into canon in ahsoka season 2. I think they just need to invest in writing longer episodes like they did with Andor so that they have the room to explore the story they are trying to tell.
I don't think the writers, detectors and actors are to blame for the sad state of star wars. It's a shame that we are getting this on Disney+ since they have to push out a constant and steady flow of new star wars and marvel related content onto the service so that people feel like maintaining their subscription is worth it. If they went the game of thrones route, production time would probably balloon and thered be longer waits between shows. Theyd have a much harder time retaining subscribers and losing money. That's probably partly why marvels movies have struggled so much too

Just because the show makes a connection to other things in the universe doesn’t mean it’s good.
This show makes Star Wars feel like a sitcom. You just watch they will keep pumping out half baked trash that “expands” the universe and connects it all up, then people will act like it was a genius plan and the sequels were actually super deep and really cool. The reason people are complaining about it cheapening the lore is because it’s so dogshit that the fact that it’s considered canon makes the whole universe feel artificial and empty.
I genuinely don’t care what they are doing with any of these characters the whole thing is pointless, there’s no mystery, twists, tension or stakes. It’s just, walk over here, talk, walk over there, talk, fight, talk, long ass flashbacks of walking and talking, then cliffhanger that doesn’t get resolved in the next episode. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED IN THE ENTIRE SHOW, they give you some new characters that don’t do anything and then they kill them like it’s this wild story moment… like okay cool may as well get rid off the rest of them while you’re at it.
No amount of lore connections can make this show not a colossal waste of time and money.

Moronic Anti Fans: "These writers don't know Star Wars!"
The Writers: **Put a Plaugeis and Empire Strikes Back Reference in the same show they also inverted the idea of the Blastshield/Sensor Deprivation Helmet in**
So when do you guys want to let go you hate and realize you're just causing your own suffering? This show has flaws but it's writing isn't one. It's complex and very different, a bit more Andor but with a focus on Jedi, than people are used to. Say that and I'll nod my head but to dispirage these people who are making the Legends EU return to you and with new data to enjoy while showing they do love the universe and aren't just collecting pay check is something that will cause me to shake my head side to side and wonder how you went so far astray.
Was it the best episode for action? No but it was excellent for showing us Sol's fracturing personality, proving Mae couldn't have accomplished her plan anyway so fans need not fear and gave us insight to just how calm a Dark Jedi/Sith can be after murdering so many people. Which is my favorite part. Qimir doesn't mologue, he doesn't meditate floating on a cloud of force energy he takes a bath and tells Osha. "Leave if you want or stay if you want. I can show you a power you weren't allowed to touch but I'm not gonna force you into it." So sly and yet truthful. Love this series and pity those who let a clunky pace and bunch of Anti Fans scare them away.

You're the one who's going to look "moronic" once it's revealed that it's actually just Ahch-To LOL There's a reason this show has been SO predictable, and it's because it has very poor writing.

Look, it's fine if you like the show. But to call people who aren't fans moronic shows a servere lack of emotional intelligence and empathy.

Guys guys, this show is important. Without the Acolyte, we cant fully appreciate the Mandalorian or Ahsoka, like how the prequels werent appreciated before the sequels xD

This show fucking sucks. I know it’s a different IP but a show like HotD is way better. Why can’t they make a show like that?

The only thing this show needs that HOTD has is the run time.

Okay but HotD sets an incredibly high bar to reach tbf, even shows that are really good, like Andor or currently The Boys, aren’t up to *THAT* level.

@@YourDadYoda Still not a great excuse. The Acolyte had a budget of $180 million, and HOTD had $200 million. How is it that only $20 million more allows HOTD to have infinitely better sets and twice the run time?

@@atrocious7766 What beef do you guys have with The Acolyte's sets? The show looks great. The runtime is ultimately a creative decision, it doesn't have to do with the budget. Lesyle Headland's other show, Russian Doll, has very similar episode runtimes.
