Divorce sucked,but I somehow found a pair of blinders that fit just me and that`s how I had to deal with it for a good year or so;I was also dealing with staying sober and also raising a 2 yr. old on my own.....It can be done,Stephie...I learned how to pray again and realizing that no matter how terribly horrific things get,someone somewhere else has it a million times worse....Believe me,it works,and whoever coined the term"Time heals all wounds" was a friggin` genius...Anyway,before I turn this into a bore-fest,I`ll give you a couple prayers and hope life becomes amazing to you again..........Steve

Getting a divorce can be hard emotionally on everyone in one way or another. But with time it becomes easier, even though we don’t see it at first. But it is true that not all of us do have that opportunity to always be with that one person that we thought to be with for the rest of our lives. But you are strong and it will get better.
There is selfishness when you disregard all other peoples well being and there is a necessary selfishness that is required to care for yourself if you want to be able to give parts of yourself to others. Especially a partner. You need to know you can live for you when you're alone. That's what separates "lonely" from "alone". Let the time and pain do it's thing. This is an opportunity to invest in yourself.

Your video showed up in my feed and I watched it all the way through. As a divorced man I can completely sympathize with you. It has been said divorce is comparable to losing a loved one to death as you go through the same stages of grief. I apologize if this offends you, because I have no idea what your beliefs are from a spiritual standpoint, but I wanted to offer advice from a Christian perspective. You must deal with things in TRUTH, regardless of how painful it is. That being said, I reject the idea that a marriage/divorce came into your life to teach you things. You have to take ownership and say I failed. Can you learn from your mistakes? Absolutely. God can work through us in our failures, but He will never bring the failure in to teach us things. Also, the idea of self love is a dead end road. These are very popular "talking points" with women nowadays, but there is no joy to be found in me, myself, and I. In fact I believe the opposite. The more we get out of ourselves and our tiny little worlds, and get our focus on others; and ultimately God, that, is where true joy is. Failing marriages are running rampant these days mainly because one key element is being left out. God! My opinion is love between a man and a woman runs in a cycle. When you first meet, romance sweeps you off of your feet. But 10 years later those feelings will not exist anymore because the couple knows each other now; especially their faults. But this evolves into something greater. A strong marriage will produce a bond between that couple whereas the love you have for your partner will surpass the love you have for yourself. My wife's well being surpasses my own. Also, because I know my wife so well, I already know her thoughts and feelings and I can love her so much better than when I was in the romance stage. Indeed, as the Bible says, the two shall become one. That's not just in the marital bed, it is from a spiritual standpoint. But this attitude and mindset is not common in us. God gives it to us when He is in the heart of the man and the woman. His sacrifice on the cross, where He gave everything for His bride "the church" (believers), He now expects each partner to lay down their life for their partner. That is love at its deepest and where it is completely fulfilled. Please seek Him before you seek another man.

Hang in there...someone wise once told me that you grow through what you go through....lean on your support system, take time for yourself.(self care), and there's nothing wrong with talking to a therapist....absolutely nothing... you are a different person than you were in your 20's..and people change and grow apart... keep spending time with friends/exercise/volunteer/stay active, journal your feelings...it will take time to feel "ok"

You are so brave and strong and I know you are going to grow during this time. Guard your heart and like you said be selective of who you let in when that time comes. Staying really active and spending time with friends and family helped me a lot but looking back I wish I would have done counseling also. It takes time but like scars fading, the burn that you feel will subside. Allow yourself to be sad and embrace those emotions because they are real and deserve to be acknowledged. ❤

When I moved to a new state by myself (after a LT relationship breakup) to start my career, I felt so alone. Your video showed up in my feed and I watched it all the way through. As a divorced man I can completely sympathize with you. It has been said divorce is comparable to losing a loved one to death as you go through the same stages of grief. I apologize if this offends you, because I have no idea what your beliefs are from a spiritual standpoint, but I wanted to offer advice from a Christian perspective. You must deal with things in TRUTH, regardless of how painful it is. That being said, I reject the idea that a marriage/divorce came into your life to teach you things. You have to take ownership and say I failed. Can you learn from your mistakes? Absolutely. God can work through us in our failures, but He will never bring the failure in to teach us things. Also, the idea of self love is a dead end road. These are very popular "talking points" with women nowadays, but there is no joy to be found in me, myself, and I. In fact I believe the opposite. The more we get out of ourselves and our tiny little worlds, and get our focus on others; and ultimately God, that, is where true joy is.
Failing marriages are running rampant these days mainly because one key element is being left out. God! My opinion is love between a man and a woman runs in a cycle. When you first meet, romance sweeps you off of your feet. But 10 years later those feelings will not exist anymore because the couple knows each other now; especially their faults. But this evolves into something greater. A strong marriage will produce a bond between that couple whereas the love you have for your partner will surpass the love you have for yourself. My wife's well being surpasses my own. Also, because I know my wife so well, I already know her thoughts and feelings and I can love her so much better than when I was in the romance stage. Indeed, as the Bible says, the two shall become one. That's not just in the marital bed, it is from a spiritual standpoint. But this attitude and mindset is not common in us. God gives it to us when He is in the heart of the man and the woman. His sacrifice on the cross, where He gave everything for His bride "the church" (believers), He now expects each partner to lay down their life for their partner. That is love at its deepest and where it is completely fulfilled. Please seek Him before you seek another man.

I remember when I first saw this video when you posted it. I thought to myself ‘I really thought they would be married forever.’ Especially after seeing the purchase of your beautiful home. I never realized going back to your old videos will help me. I am in the same situation now. Although I was never married. I was with him for 14 years(high school sweethearts) and we bought our beautiful home in 2021. These videos do help! I see you are thriving now and I can’t wait until I get there. Hang in there...someone wise once told me that you grow through what you go through....lean on your support system, take time for yourself.(self care), and there's nothing wrong with talking to a therapist....absolutely nothing... you are a different person than you were in your 20's..and people change and grow apart... keep spending time with friends/exercise/volunteer/stay active, journal your feelings...it will take time to feel "ok"

You are so brave and strong and I know you are going to grow during this time. Guard your heart and like you said be selective of who you let in when that time comes. Staying really active and spending time with friends and family helped me a lot but looking back I wish I would have done counseling also. It takes time but like scars fading, the burn that you feel will subside. Allow yourself to be sad and embrace those emotions because they are real and deserve to be acknowledged. ❤
