Thank you Leanne, I'm glad you like the dress! 😘💕 Julie is my boyfriend's step mum, one of the loveliest people I know! They put the extensions on both sides of the table .. it was still not long enough for the whole layout of the trench 😹😍 I have great plans for Julie in my future vlogs btw 🤩💝💓
You can paint the buckles with a couple of coats of nail polish in burgandy. The nail polish would likely be easier to find in the correct colour. I've done that with buttons and beads to embellish my clothing and it worked really well.
That Liora dress is precious! And... OH My Gosh... a million and one pieces to that Trench... lol. Love the burgundy accents with the gray! Good luck. Can hardly wait to see it finished. Sewing Granny from Texas, USA, Anne Rice!
OMG, Omg!!! Liora on you! I have so many hearts in my eyes right now, That's my favourite pattern of the new collection. Make more and then... may be I make some :) I LOVE a Knit dress at this time of the year and this tapered leg.... I mean seriously gorgeous!
Ha ha Polly 😍😍😍 omg that pattern would look amazing on you!!! I'll be definitely making at least two more, at least! 🥰 I also have my eyes on Iliana and Leticia next!! 😜💕💖

Oops! I guess you were still going; I stopped the commercial and find the blue floral! Very pretty! Lol! And the buttons! I love finding perfect buttons in my stash!
Ha ha thank you Cheryl! 😍💖 Yes the buttons were made for this trench, and I've had them for years and never thought I'd use them on something as fancy as this! I love having a little (or not so little) stash of bits and bobs .. Always go shopping in my own in-house store first 🤣🤣💜❤️
The trench coat will be beautiful! I used to love cutting out and now I dread it. Happy you had an assistant. 😄 Love the dress!! It looks great on you. Hope you wore it to dinner. Just be you! ❤️
Hi Susan! 💖Aww thank you! I only love cutting out when it's on a big long table like this one.. at home I just cut out on the floor.. my knees are usually not impressed 🥰🤣🤣 I didn't wear it to dinner but might wear it to the upcoming wedding reception!! Can't wait to show it off! 💖🥰
You can get metal buckles and paint them. A craft sttore could tell you the correct type of paint for metal and they should have lots of colors. Best wishes on that trench coat!
Thank you Susan!! 😍🤩 I might do that next time I get an unusual colour fabric again.. 💖 I'm waiting for some vintage buckles to arrive from eBay at the moment, so fingers crossed the colour is going to match! 😘💕
Wow 🤩 that Libra dress looks just A M A Z I N G I would never have picked up that fabric but it looks fabulous made up and just gorgeous on you 😍 The trench looks a bit mind blowing 🤯 Good luck with your buckle search - Ill keep my eyes open too. I have loads of clear elastic and a piping foot you could have borrowed. You should have tried the Pipskilou haberdashery first! 😝 Loving Julies table too. What a fabulous sewing buddy to be supplying cups of tea and encouragement along the way too 😊
Ha ha awww Pipski Lou haberdashery 🤪😂 I've ordered two burgundy vintage buckles, they are on their way, can't wait to show you!! 🥰😍 Oh and Julie is awesome, I hope we can all be sewing together one day soon, we actually talked about it if you're game! 😘💜❤️
I think my boyfriend's parents had it for a very long time, there are two extensions that they attached for my cutting session, it's solid wood... Don't think it's IKEA.. I have my eye on Horn craft table, look it up, it's extendable and the height is specially made for sewing and cutting.. Let me know what you think! 💜❤️
The options of covering a dinner belly are excellent in this dress, even better with these design features, than in any other plain dress 😜😘🥰 I'm making at least two more ... Considering doing a sewalong for it .. not sure, still thinking 🙂
@@Sloths.and.Orchids oh yes please! Could you make those front ties a bit shorter? I suppose they could be wrapped around the waist to add further definition!
Beautiful dress!! I hope the making of your trench coat goes well; I like the color ideas you chose for the construction of it. I have a request. Can you do a series of little black dresses (LBD's)? I ask because I haven't seen anyone sew much on that subject here on YT. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, that dress and the fabric you made it in is jaw dropping fabulous, an absolute stunner!! Looking forward to seeing your trench coat. I’m making a trench coat at the moment, the Taylor Trench by Rebecca Page patterns. I thought I’d try to make an English language trench first to get my head around trench coat construction - but I do want to do the Viki sews Tessa trench soon and so would love to see how you manage the back vent and lining as the photos sure have me scratching my head (a different method completely to the Taylor trench, and the Tessa trench is a different Viki sews trench to the one you are doing but I suspect the construction would be similar). By the way - That purple fabric is so you - it would have a crime to have left it 😉
Hi Robyn! 🤩😍 For some reason I thought there was a trench pattern in English on Vikisews site. I just checked to see and they are so in Russian! Perhaps they will be translating one soon, hopefully. I will keep filming my progress on the trench so you'll be able to see how the construction progresses. 💖❤️ And the fabric is so gorgeous, they've had it in hot pink as well .. I'm stopping myself from going back there every day 🤪🥰💜
Thank you Michelle!! ❤️I actually found two vintage buckles online that are perfect for this. But I will keep the spraying idea in mind for any future similar situations! 💝🥰💖
Thank you Stephanie 💜, I think I may have found the buckles, but for another time can I ask what kind of paint are we talking about? Wall spray paint kind of thing? ❤️🥰
I absolutely love the dress. My favorite look is the thin strap over the neck with a wee bit of skin showing. I'm up to my eyeballs in a trench coat (Vogue Guy Laroche) for my daughter and almost done. Finishing the hem but it doesn't want to hang straight so I'm putting a lining gusset in to allow more width in the lining and in theory won't pull the outer off kilter. On to your buckle problem. They used to offer a buckle kit using your own fabric so maybe check Etsy or Ebay or Amazon. The other suggestion is to buy a wooden one and paint to match seal to keep the surface intact. Another suggestion is to find a piece of jewelry or brooch with burgundy and silver. Good luck I'm very excited to see your finished coat. Love the pants with slits at the bottom. It's a cold drizzly Monday and the trench coat is calling to me. Soon, I'll be doing my trench coat out of gunmetal grey twill with grey and rose printed lining with flamingos. That is if I'm not trench coat OD'd. Have a great week
Hi Lavada!! 🤩💜 Oh I know just the Vogue trench you're making!!! It's gorgeous! And the next trench, especially the lining sounds delicious as well! 💝😍 I do love autumn wardrobe... Wow you have so many ideas for the buckle!! I'll be noting all of that for the future, as I have so many random colour fabrics for trench coats, but for now I've just ordered two vintage burgundy buckles, so let's keep our fingers crossed they are the correct size and colour!!! 💖❤️💜
Your latest dress is so gorgeous! And you mentioned that it was an easy sew! Really? When I saw your trench layout, I noticed no apparent alterations! Can you sew most patterns right out of the envelope? I am so-o-o jealous! Altering and cutting out is my most difficult part of sewing. Your organization is commendable as is your sewing speed! Love your videos….all are very inspiring! Do you really think Viki Sew patterns are easy?
Hi Frances!! 😍💖 Yes I can confirm that this dress is a very easy make, if you decide to give it a go, just use the clear elastic for reinforcing the seams where it says stretch bias tape. I've tried quite a few of Vikisews patterns, and for my body, I make no alterations.. I know it's advisable to make at least one tester, but it just fits straight away so I don't bother, very naughty! (Don't tell anyone) 🤣🤣 The thing is (and I know because I'm one of their translators) they test all their sizes and height groups on real people and don't just enlarge the pattern sizes on paper. I think their patterns are outstanding... Look at what I've been making for the past few months 🤪🥰💖

Otherwise, adjust the pattern so you can use buttons instead of a buckle so everything matches? So annoying not being able to find what you want.
