Don't forget that these special edition consoles have rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in them. Over the years these will deplete and degrade; possibly becoming a spicy pillow. If the battery becomes one, it may ruin the unit, and is extremely dangerous. Make sure you store batteries around 50-60% (powered off) and check the console every 6 months per Nintendo's suggestion. Partial disassembly and battery removal may be required for long-term preservation.
@@connordavis7741 Yes, this holds true for any electronics that come with a battery in it that you cannot remove easily. I have lost 2 sets of joycons to battery bloat since the launch of the console. I just recently checked my Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Pro Controller (that I keep in it's box) and its still just fine, as is my launch Switch (which I store as stated above). Your mileage may vary. Definitely don't attempt anything while you are still in warranty, as Nintendo uses soft, tri-wing security screws that are easy to strip. If you are just buying things to collect rather than play with, this could potentially become a problem later down the road.
Now is Wrong time, wait for holiday season discounts and switch 2 announcement, then tons of people will flood the market with there collection to make room and extra cash for brand new switch 2, that is your best opportunity
Literally came to this conclusion last month which is why I found a brand new Mario red switch oled for £221 ($290). I just bought links awakening last week as I could see that it’s out of print now and prices for that game is starting to increase. A lot of games are harder to find now. But I’m down to chase them a little 😂
Game stop recently announcing that they will be reopening as a “retro game store” makes me wonder if the timing of the copy cat physical games popping up is much of coincidence 👀 …let’s not forget game stop did the same thing about 20 years ago when they were still accepting trade ins on PlayStation 2 and below consoles and games
Majority of those “cheaper” special editions are overseas imported versions that have 3rd party plugs and wires, and God knows the condition of them or if they’ve been used at all. Also usually from some off the wall seller that you’ll probably have to get the CIA to track down for a return or refund.
I’ve got my Switch game collection and I’ve got my OLED Switch systems in the box, holding onto them! Ive got a feeling boxed Switch systems will be in high demand for games like Marvel Vs Capcom collection and must have games.
Yup I already own almost all the important ones that I believe will jump in price later on. Just preorder two of the hyrule switch lite. Same with the games specially them collections full on cartridge and ports that’s have all the content and dlc on cartridge. Like Witcher 3 and outer worlds. About to purchase Minecraft story mode season 1 and 2 for a couple of hundred sealed and blasphemous 1 and two. Can’t forget limited run games (the good ones) like doom eternal on physical.
This is true, You can't even really find Pikmin 4 and it just came out last year recently Glad I picked up Metroid dread end of 2022. Probably the best size grow platformer other than Mario Wonder out on any system.
Not click bait my left foot he didn't mention anything about needing to buy the switch or oled he only brought up the special edition one time and started talking about a zelda 3ds and ps5
I'm so glad that I've had a Nintendo Switch since chirstmas 2018 can't believe a freaking 6 years with 38 physical games and every digital games that I have now and yes you're right now it's the perfect time to buy the Nintendo Switch before it's gone or you just need to wait foe the Nintendo Switch 2 that I've heard leaks and rumors about it's reveal is in in this september what's hard to believe, but would LOVE to be true in my birthmonth and Sony's State of Play is coming too in september where would be something about of PS5 Pro we really live in interesting times in Sony and Nintendo's History! 😮❤
@@Leopez02 just a few! Funny thing is, there’s still quite a lot of games I’d love to own for it. Never had so many games for a console before - think the SNES is second on my list with about 40 games.
Want a totk pro controller but can't get one because of the fakes. It is almost impossible to know which is which. Nintendo are bananaheads for not offering these themselves.
The only used game I bought for switch was Legend Arceus and I think who ever owned it probably rage quite it because of the very hard Arceus boss fight. How do I know they raged quite the game? That's easy they destroyed the case and ripped up the cover lol
I got it for 25 like a month ago. In case and good condition. Great game. Got sword right after for 30. Much cheaper than what it is in store. Used is better for switch games if you tryna save money and don't care about it being sealed etc.
@robmalcolm8042 unfortunately most used switch games were I live are kinda expensive paid 45 for mine. But alot of my wii and wii u games were used and in good condition got them from gamestop as a power rewards member took advantage of there buy 2 get 1 free deal.
I'm not a hater, but commenting 'animal crossing' limited edition console being the very first limited edition really undermines your credibility as an NS content creator... you literally made videos dedicated to limited edition consoles yourself in the past
There is a good amount of Nintendo (first party) switch games that are still v1.0 on cartridge with no updates. Nintendo Life have a lost of all v1.0 games
Most games only have minor bug fixes in their updates. Seldom are patches required for game breaking bugs, meaning even with no internet connection for patch download, your game will still be fine. Let’s not forget, older games were often extremely glitchy, with no way of fixing them.

Both Metroid Dread and Metroid Prime Remaster will likely go up in price, since they are both on a cartridge. Don't skip out on them.
False they printed out too many of those games and everyone has one
