Home Repair Floors and How To Training Video 1 of 4
Drew’s Roofing And Home Repair Brunswick County North Carolina how to repair your Mobile Home Floor on a single wide
I have been studying your videos & am so happy that you have posted so much useful solid info & advice!
I own a single-wide trailer (circa 70’s) that has a rotten bathroom floor.
I will have to remove the ugly bathtub (no real loss) to get the job done right.
On the other side of the tub wall (my bedroom) my husband punched a hole in the floor when he sat down in a chair so I suspect water damage seeped in that area as well.
Problem is that the hole is right above the center vent 😱
I am resigned to replace the tub, toilet, sink & the entire tiny bathroom floor.
So I figured while I’m doing all this-that I might as well go gun-ho & add an 6x10’ extension onto the exterior of the trailer which would enlarge both my bedroom & bath.
Since I also wanted to add a deck with arbor on the same side I have decided to hire a decking company for the 12’ tall decking post installation & incorporate some of these posts as my outside framework on the addition.
The deck flooring, extension & bathroom/bedroom work would be on me mostly as my husband is in his 80’s & the tools and talent are mine.
I have some hard work ahead to make this happen- I am located on Long Island NY.
I will be hiring a plumber & electrician during this process.
Do you have any advise to offer?
I figured a good start is to do the deck posts & outside shell (& roof) of the addition first as I will be working thru the fall & beginning of winter before completion.
I just want to thank you again for posting your helpful videos-you have inspired me & I am determined.
I have $20,000 in retirement savings for this that I believe will get me through this undertaking if I do the bulk of the addition & deck flooring myself.
I just started planning this-do you have any advice?
I was suggest watching a lot of my videos check out my playlist I’m pretty sure I have several hundred floor videos and it seems like every floor we run into something different I wish you luck on your project I’m actually in New Jersey right now visiting my mother-in-law Hackettstown or somewheres near that I wish I could help better I’m all the way in North Carolina I say just keep on the path you’re working at bass daddy when you get frustrated take a break
Don't spend your retirement money on the repairs or additions. Instead , either get a loan from some agency, the county or a lender for the amount. If you can't get the loan, try a Home Depot project card. Kast I checked, their terms were pretty good. Then make payments on the project card from income or side hustles. Keep your retirement savings to live on in retirement.
I agree and thank you for the comment I hope this helps you do not spend your retirement savings
I agree I don’t think I would spend my retirement on repairs there has to be other options
I hope you have been watching my most recent videos as I have been going through an entire Mobile Home replacing the floors and much more
Thank you for your videos. I am a single woman taking care of my own home as much as possible. I cannot afford anyone else to do it and it seems no one wants to work on mobile homes anyway....especially old ones like 1979.
I have a whole bunch of videos please check out my playlist for Mobile Home Floors I know in some of the playlist the same videos exist but if you look through there you’ll find just about everything you need to find out about Mobile Home Floors

I have same problem nobody wants to help me and I'm thinking about just do it myself
Quick question for you ladies, do you buy your tools, or can you rent them from somewhere? If you can rent them where and for how much?
Renting is costly. Rather own my own
Thanks for the video! I’m buying a 1975 mobile home with a recently replaces water heater and 2 rooms of floor needs replaced. This video helped my greatly!
Glad to help. I have plenty of videos on flooring in mobile homes.
I really appreciate the way you’re making the video, I purchased a 1990’s Clayton mobile on 2 acres. It’s been a nightmare. Mainly because it seems they workers building the place in the warehouse don’t care about anything. I uncovered writing on a 2x4 stating “fuck my life” written under the drywall in my small master closet.
Don’t take offense, you’re the used car salesman that has a heart. You know the problems with trailer homes, and you’re telling us the secrets of the builders mindset.
I WILL CONTINUE TO WATCH YOUR VIDEOS.
You and your team are saving me thousands of dollars I don’t have.
😎 thank you 🙏 so much please make sure you check out my playlist and other videos I have online. ruclips.net/p/PL8xp84iSvTA6tL82mJCUldsbqpNAeI8y2
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair did you ever come across teeny tiny bugs in the floors/rugs of older mobile homes? My 91 year old mom’s mobile home is very old, but in beautiful condition until her bathroom floor goes down I. Spots and this past summer she got these flea like bugs. We had an exterminator treat for a few months and they seemed to go away, but are back again.
I have never heard of that did the Exterminator ever find out what kind of bug it was?
I am so happy that I was able to help
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair sorry just saw you responded to my question. The pest control said it is drain flies.
I do maintenance in a mobile home park . So some of your videos have been really helpful . Thank you
Glad to help
I want to thank everybody for the prayers through my cancer treatment that I’ve been dealing with I feel like they really help so again thank you to everybody that has sand prayers and well-being wishes throughout my treatments. I make my channel so I can help people learn how to do things that they might not have known how to do before they watched my videos. So I hope my videos help you in someway or another. And I have no clue why he used that particular Skil saw for this particular job. There’s five Skil saw’s in the truck D Walt’s Makita’s and all kinds of them don’t ask me why he picked the cheapest one in the trailer
Amen brotha 🎉
Thanks for posting these! They are very very helpful for my entire family. The folks that built our double wide made some mistakes leading to water damage and subsequent rotting of the subfloor in a few rooms.
I make these videos for people like you I like helping people thank you very much please slam the lake button on every video you watch it helps my channel you’re the best
I grew up in 1963 mobile, that my parents purchase new..it was rotten in about 15 years. My dad added on all the rooms, basically turning in into module. He also put a new roof with a peak.
Your dad sounds like a very smart man I lived in a single wide for years
I can see from your ancient work why we only use Paul. Very few craftspeople around and a warm body only generates more heat. Stay safe.
Paul is a great worker. He does good work. It’s hard to find somebody to work on a mobile home.
Thank you for the video I am having to do my floor in my kitchen and in a closet. I have asked several companies and no one will show up. So I am going to do it myself. I don't understand why no one wants to do the job ? From watching y'all I think it is doable. Have a Blessed day
It is doable you can definitely do it
I just bought a single wide mobile home that is in the 80s. I'm going to try my best to fix all my floors they are really bad. Trying to watch your videos I'm going to see if I can do it myself and have my son help me. I don't have installation under the trailer so it should be easier for me.
You can do it watch enough videos an it will be easy
I’m repairing my Lancer’s floor DIY.
thanks for posting 👍. You’ve cleared many of my uncertainties. Now to get the toilet back on. Keep up the great work 🔨.
Thank you. If I help you hit the thumbs up button to help me
My partner and I are buying an older mobile home. 1970s. Not too pretty. But we suspect issues with the flooring. Looks complicated but we may fix it ourselves. I am trying to learn from you. Wish I had all these skills and the knowledge to be able to asses and know the ins and outs of a job like this and others.
I hope my videos help ruclips.net/p/PL8xp84iSvTA6oXgxQr0iXkWR2bOhrllSm
Oh shit I never thought about the condensation problem. That for sure must have played a factor in mine from the previous owners. Always thought the main reason they rotted was from having no overhang so all the water runs down the walls which is beyond stupid I don't know why they do that. Gonna repair my floor this week, skillsaw along the wall will be a big help. Thanks for the videos man, i know you can get some annoying experts or snobby people talking shit but you're helping a lot of people with these videos. Good work
Thank you for watching. I definitely have the experts complaining
I just wanted to say that I appreciate the work you do, not only in repairs but your comments and explanations. There's so many other video's out there where the guys just do the work and speed the video up to where it's actually hard to see what they're doing or understand the how's and why's. But not with you, you show it being done, why you do it a certain way etc...and that really helps us learn how to do it as well. Thanks again, you are greatly appreciated! ::::waving from north Texas::::
Thank you for watching all the way from Texas I am in Alabama today doing a Rubber roofing with somebody all the way from North Carolina. It took me 10 hours to get here
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair I saw your video of your road trip. I had been watching your videos for a couple of hours when I saw you had a fresh one, so I watched you 4 guys in the truck. Get some rest. And stay safe!
Thanks patriot
Yeah its refreshing. I was recently watching some deck building videos just to see what others are doing and the guy on one channel did horrible work and in the comments he argued with everyone and couldn't be told anything because he knew it all already. He was so defensive and arrogant so seeing this is refreshing to see good honest craftsmen
Enjoy learning from you. Have had disagreements with family members about the worth of repairing mobile homes. It depends on if you want to live within your means or live in outlandish debt.
I agree 100%. Within your means is a great way of saying it. Live small with very little play big with all the money your saving. Win win. Thanks for watching. Smash that like button and hit that subscribe.. I love a single wide mobile home

I really wish you would have showed how Billy was removing that subfloor from under that interior wall. I have a bedroom floor I’m replacing. From the previous owner who was growing weed in the closet it destroyed the floor completely. The joists are fine but I don’t want to have to completely reframe and build a new closet.
use a floor scraper instead for tiles. No kneeling or bending. Works great on ice too.
Nice
Best HVAC place is overhead within the ceiling. Makes more living space and reduces underneath condensation. 😊
I could not agree more
That blade was trash. I am suprised the windings in that saw didnt start smoking. Fastest was to wreck a saw is using a cheap dull blade on anything. I pulled all my subflooring up and installed plywood. Not OSB. That crap swells from moisture and can destroy any type of flooring placed over it. Make sure any vapor barrier underneath is repaired by adding in New pieces over the old stuff. Then add your new insulation. Vaccuum up all the sawdust made by the saw too..
I am on a very tight budget. I had someone fix a small portion of the floor in the living room but all the floors and ceiling and hell the walls need to be fixed I got this from a lady that has lived I it for 11 years and didn't properly get the floors redone I even need the widows fixed they glued them shut with something black if I could I would just get a whole new one but 3 kids and I don't usually have much money left after payday any advice is awsome it's a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom trailer
You can do it. 1 step at a time
I have lots and lots of videos on flooring in mobile homes
Thanks for the tips and guide. Question i have is what’s the thinnest subfloor you can put on without sacrificing strength and noise, due to surge in prices and inventory it’s a bit difficult, want to do it right the first time. Thanks
19/32 is the lowest you want to go on the floor 23/32 is recommended
We have a 56 foot single wide that we just purchased. Over the years the insulation was torn out from underneath. I'm just over halfway across the front part of the trailer replacing insulation and using styrofoam board for the underbelly. I have a task ahead cause some of it is just hanging down ripped to shreds from critters.
You can do it it’s not that hard I have confidence in you
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair my mother's trailer is the same way with some parts of the floor caved in and the insulation hanging down underneath. Should I go under the trailer and take out the insulation or should I instead take the floor out (it needs replaced) and pull it out?
Do it from the top
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair ok thank you!
you can do it
True sorry to hear about your cancer. Putting energy your way and prayers that the treatments you seek are successful!! If you can spare a moment, could you give me an estimate of how much this job actually cost?
When we did it. This job was 4200. Now day much more. Plywood is up ⬆️ more like 5000 to 6500

Thanks for this, it's going to be a Spring project. I have a leaky bathtub that warped the floor. Not going to mess with it til the Winter is over.
Check out my Flooring playlist
I have the same exact linoleum, both top and bottom layers. My bathroom flooring is so soft and kind of sinking. Our guess it was the water heater that sprung a leak. My other half is doing nothing about it. He will go through first. :) I have found that if I start a project he will want to take over. Right now I am taking the dryer apart to replace the rollers and figure out why it is not heating. He took off the top and decided he did not want to finish taking off the front and pull out the drum. I am certain he will take over once I tell him I have the computer board off and if I can figure out where the drill is I will pull it and that will spark the gotta take over mode. After it is fixed I will get to starting on the floor.
Lol. Maybe a better, better half is in order
Lol. Maybe a better, better half is in order
How do you find the cross beams (or anything else hiding under the floor) so you don't accidentally cut those when you do the first cut? Stud finder?
We look for nailing. That tells us everything. You can also use stud finder. Experience person will be able to do it with hammer
Sir where are you locate it I see y'all do good work I own a double wide and had a water leak in the bathroom from the commode

Hey guys, if you are working around small particles (rotted flooring and pink insulation particles)- you should protect your lungs. Industrial mask.
We should for sure
Thanks for the vid. What you called Old OSB is Particleboard, made with sawdust. My husband used to work at particleboard plants and we have lived in a mobile home for more than 3 decades. We have done our share of replacing subfloors. The stuff should be outlawed, lol.
I agree
Getting ready to redo my entire floor in a week or so. What is the preferred method to remove the leftover wood against the wall after using circular saw? Oscillating or sawzall? Im thinking oscillating will do a neater job but take forever. Any and all feedback is much appreciated.
My next video that I’m working on now will have that in it and it’s actually called a wall saw or you can use your Skil saw and then use a saw Zaw after that
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair thanks for the quick reply. What are your thoughts on tongue and groove osb for the new subfloor?
Brian Sales Go to Harbor freight by a wall saw it’s called wall cutting or flush cut saw for walls Harbor freight $75.80 bucks

I'm gonna have to look over his videos and see if I can find the one for he showed how to mark out the lines there's my biggest. Worry would be hitting the support structure Underneath I already know that a huge portion of my floor has to be replaced and in that I'll probably find some of the underlyingstructor asked. Miracles but I don't want to do damage to it until I can evaluate it
As you put your plywood back in your floor, Joyce are exposed. You can see them there if you want to you can get a sheet rock square and use it to make your lines and sheet rock square is called a T square. It is 4 feet long by 2 feet wide very easy to use.
Fighting staples! Don't I know it brother! I've been gutting a 1971 mobile home in NH on my vacation property and EVERYTHING is stapled. Oh and lots of clutch bit screws. GRRR! Try finding that bit at any hardware store! I've been doing the walls and ceilings (gross!) right now, floor repairs in a couple spots come after that's done and ready for drywall.
It sounds like you’re going to get it all figured out eventually it is a pain in the butt
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Oh and you gotta love when they frame in closets....over the effing ceiling tiles. These things are mass produced nightmares.
Mobile homes are a bear everything about them is different from the house good luck with your project with a little bit of aggravation I think you’ll do fine
Are the floors on a 1965 any different than this floor? Great video and God is good man.
They all are just a little bit different the older ones I find are more app to have glue on the floor Joist
What was the depth of your saw to cut the subfloor,I need to cut some subfloor but I am concerned about the depth of the blade?
3/4 to 1 inch max
Drew when putting a sub floor down, so do you use screws or a nail gun? What is the pros and cons of one over the other?
I always use screws nails have a tendency to squeak
Sounds like a solid build
It turned out great

I didn’t buy the material on this 1. I’m guessing around 600 materials I did the labor for 600

mobile home floors suck I use a cut wheel on a grinder for staples and just drive in the tips if they cut off still sticking up
Good idea
We moved into my sister's mobile home after she passed away last December and because of some plumbing that had at some point been done that wasn't up to code had a flood in the first month. Within a month later there is a spot in the floor that is soft and feels like its just carpet. I'm so stressed out about this hole I've even had nightmares about the thing haha. This video helped me at least understand what's going on with it until I can find someone to come out here and replace that osb. For now we've just sort of marked off the area and we avoid stepping there. Makes me worry about the safety of the floor around the shower and toilet themselves now too though. I truly appreciate ya'll taking the time to record this and post it.
I hope you noticed that I have hundreds of videos there’s probably something about everything that you need to see. I’m glad I’m able to make these videos for you and whoever needs to see. Yup
My ac unit has been developing condensation plus the pan the a shaped thing is in has been leaking on the backside right down the wall. I have the worst floor mess because of it. One spot is swagged, another is buckled or humped up like a mound. My flooring goes under the wall unfortunately just like my old home place. How can I fix that right? l would have taken a look at it.. 6 months ago when you wrote this. ☺️
Sorry you missed it. Starting a new Mobil home tomorrow
Do you have any videos on how to replace the under trailer paper or black paper. Im in Minnesota and didnt get all the water out when winterizing and leaked and blew a bunch of pipes and soaked the insulation which then waterlogged the black paper and pretty much all of it fell down... i have a 76 bendix single wide i believe 15 or 16 wide by 80 long. Also do you have and recommendation for any companies up in Minnesota? Thank you.
No I do not but it is easy Buy a tarp from lowes and use it.. Take a 2x2 wrap 1 side of the tarp Screw it to out side framing under out side walls. pull it to the other side wrap that in a 2x2 screw the 2x2 under the out side wall Done. go under frame and everything..
What tile or flooring do you recommend to go over the subflooring that is the best bang for your buck that will prevent water damage?
I like the plastic laminate snap together water resistant you can buy it at Home Depot or Lowe’s
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair cool thanx
If the home is underpinned in brick, do the foundation vents need to be open or closed year round?
Open in summer close in winter.
Do you have to remove insulation if it is pink and looks good
No
Job does not look extremely difficult but the question I have is dose the flooring (osb) go under the sheetrock in the livingroom of 2005 single wide mobile home?
My guess is yes it does
Hey Drew thanks for the videos. I've been watching a lot of them. I'm about to get started on this project in the bathroom. How do I know what type of support joist I am supposed to put in? I see a lot of the times it's either 2x4 or 2x6. Also any tips on doing a bathroom? Thanks again Drew.
This is a perfect time for you to be watching as I will be doing Mobile Home bedroom and bathroom starting tomorrow removing and replacing the floors. It’s according to what size floor Joist your house has in it now. If it is two by fours used to buy for us if it is 2 x 6 use 2 x 6. Nine times out of 10 they are 2 x 6.

I have a 94 double wide and my hot water heater busted in the utility room. The water damage also ran into the bedroom on the other side of the wall. Will i need to remove the wall and lay new flooring through out, or just be able to replace floor on each side of wall?
That is a good question what you will end up having to do is remove the floor put some framing in the floor and then put your floor back there might not be anything to put the plywood back without adding some two by fours
What would you wrap the heat duct with?
Insulation I use insulation to wrap my ducks
Need to repair the bathroom flooring in mine. How much would that cost?
If you do it your self. 2 or 3 sheets of plywood at 40 each. Plus 2x4s for blocking. Some screws less then 250 materials if you hire someone it will be 800 to 1000
im about to male my first ever mobile home purchase it needs work can u give me a few pointers what to look for

I don’t repair under Bella’s but I have done them I just don’t like getting underneath trailers it can be done what I did was used a tarp and stressed it from one side to the other under the house and screwed it to the bottom plate on the outside of the walls underneath
Hi I don’t have a dad to ask these things but we are trying to renovate a trailer and the flooring is at different levels like it split and sank then there is a hole in the middle of the living room floor and Idk if it’s cheaper to hire or do it myself
It’s really all according to your skill level if you have time on your hands and some skill you can do it yourself. If you’re single make sure there’s a moon there so they don’t know you’re single a lot of contractors take advantage of that.
a true family story. ASBESTOS WARNING. Always wear a mask and have the tiles or linoleum tested when working on older homes and trailers. our relatives removed their kitchen flooring but later when the tests came back they had to demolish the entire house and all of their belongings due to the asbestos dust kicked up from the saws got onto everything. TEST FIRST. both died of cancer several years later. be safe.
Oh my yard that is such a sad story for your parents I am so sorry to hear that. That is scary. I never knew that linoleum could have asbestos. Thank you for your comment so sorry to hear of your loss.
My SO and I managed a park until it closed with several abandoned homes that we had to have demolished. Out of 10 homes tested, 8 were positive for asbestos in either window glazing, metal roofing joints, or floor tiling or adhesive.
Do they use better materials on the floors in the new manufacture homes And if not I’m getting ready to buy a triple wide what can I do to secure my floors
Make sure they have the new floors in them make sure they have the waterproof Floor in it mine does and it’s great. Make sure when you order that house you tell them you want to waterproof the Vantex floor or similar
Drew's Roofing & Home Repair thanks You
You’re very welcome thanks for stopping by my channel I have a lot of Mobile Home videos on my channel that is one of my biggest things
Is it possible i can just install the new plywood on the top of the old one?
I would never do that. Bad idea. Remove the old first
I have a subfloor that has some water damage. Can i just replace those water damaged sections? Or should i replace the entire subfloor? (money i don't have) I want to fix the subfloor so i can put in a new top floor
I would do section only if I couldn’t afford to do the whole thing. What bothers me about doing sessions is that if it happens again you have to remove the floor again. But if you do a section and you don’t recover it with linoleum or carpet or whatever if it happens again you won’t have to take up the carpet
A quicker easier way to remove those sticky tiles is put a piece of wax paper down on the tile and run a hot iron over it or use a heat gun. The iron is actually faster.
Really. That is very interesting 🤨

Drew what type of flooring do you recommend for replacing a 1994 Crenshaw mobile home floor. Also what size.
23/32 plywood or if you can afford it use Vantech
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Thank you very much for the response sir. I am having to make some repairs that a bath redo company fell through the floor and did not even fix.
Wow. So now what
would you recommend using tractor trailer ratchet strap to tie down a mobile home?
It might work. I never tried that before
well you need to start tying Son! Expand your business 🤟
Mine is glued and stapled it's a nightmare. Any tips on glued and stapled floor I was using an angle grinder with a sanding pad on the 2x4s after I got the staples out
Buy a sawsaw with a good blade

I have a bit of a question. Is it theoretically easier to fix a bedroom that has what seems like a damaged floor under the carpet and a visibly yanked-out ceiling fan?
The reason I ask is that my grandmother owns a mobile home but one of the bedrooms has been deemed basically unsafe to live in and is used as a storage room instead. This is largely because the previous owner was evicted and she destroyed the bedroom in question on her way out. I would like to see it repaired someday, assuming my grandmother doesn't move out one day. But between the current economic climate we currently have and the fact that her trust with contractors is shattered (we lack a central AC unit because she hired someone else to replace a broken one, only for him to retire after removing the previous AC unit and leave no way to contact him, leaving no unit whatsoever... at least she had yet to pay him.)... I doubt she will be hiring someone to fix it up anytime soon. So I'd like to work out what it'll take to fix the bedroom.
I have a whole bunch of videos on how to replace Mobile Home Floors. I hope they help you. I wish I could help more. If I were there, I would fix it for her maybe even free I like helping people if I can
What is the average cost (per square foot perhaps) of mobile home floor replacement?
To be honest I do it by the room. A living room can run 1400 labor and material bedrooms generally run 800 bathrooms because of the toilet and the sink generally runs 6 to 800. And that is removing the subfloor and replacing insulation framing when needed install new subfloor. And then you have to think about getting the floor covering. Check out a few of these videos I hope they help. If you are doing it for yourself you can save a lot of money. Watch my videos I hope they help you with the framing. Watch them all it’s a project anybody can do by themselves with a few 🛠

@@DrewsroofingandhomerepairThanks Ms. L I was going to ask this same thing. Also what if you are living in one and the floor needs replacement. Do you just do room by room?
I just had my back door replaced 2 days ago because I had to. Really wanting to move so don't want to put too much more into it. Today I got a new dryer and realized the floor under the washer and dryer. For a quick fix until I move can I get some plywood cut to the size under my washer and dryer to reinforce that area? (I did see Video 2 where only little sections were done and it had to be redone, but if I don't plan to stay here much longer would it be fine?)
I have a 1980 Skyline; I have that particle board crap. I've lived here a while and this place has done its job. I'm ready to run for the hill now and demo the place because I won't wish this on anyone. I am single and there is just too much to replace. I'm not against the new better-built mobile homes, but these older ones it should have been a crime to build something like this. That back door I replaced; do you know what they used between the two layers.....styrofoam.
Yes basically it is Styrofoam in between the two doors they’re not made of much sorry you’re having trouble with your floors and wish I was closer I would definitely be able to help you out that’s what I love doing mobile home repair. Check out my playlist on Mobile Home repair my travel videos so we have been traveling to do some of these jobs. Sorry I having trouble with your place.
Really nice can u all come fix my floor please 🙏... I need a professional to do my floor..👍
I’m in Brunswick county Nc 28461
For a diy project how much would you estimate the cost for a single room, about 20'x15' just a bedroom on a double wide mobile home. Its carpeted by the way, and new carpet can be left out because I already have something to replace it with.
What do you want to do is go 20 x 15 equals and then figure for plywood every hundred square-foot is three pieces of plywood. So I’m guesstimating 10 pieces of plywood and you want to get it 23/32. Plywood cost about $28 per sheet. Then you gonna need some 2 x 4 framing. Or 20 x 15 you’re going to need 10 two by fours so you can do the blocking and the outside framing in order to except your new plywood just like we do on the video. If you have Any questions call me 910-294-1761 I’d be glad to talk to you on the phone and help out anyway I can thank you for watching. Next week on Monday morning I am starting a Nother floor replacement in a mobile home I will be doing videos of so hit the bell notification so you’re notified when I download another video. I would be downloading a premier a video of how to install at EP DM rubber roof over a mobile home Friday night at 9 o’clock. A premiere video means we can chat as you watch so I hope you watch him Friday night 9 PM that is tonight
You can do a floor replacement in a room that size for less than $500 if you do it yourself
K babe.
My bad. I was so into the video and the comments that when my ol lady messaged me I just swiped it away and replied to her in the comments. Anyways I have my own floor repairs coming up. Plumbing leaks that had gone unchecked from previous owners and was also overlayed. So bad the top board is soft so I just know I'm gonna be replacing some 2x4s. Don't have the kind of money to have this job done but I got these two hands and the comprehension to gain some know how. I like how you respond to the comments, it makes for some good respect..you got mine. Giving a thumbs up.
Thank you I hope you also share this video with somebody else you might know that he’s not sure how to do it. Watch my videos I guarantee if you pay attention it shows you a little bit of everything look at my playlist. I am super excited that you like my videos and thank you for watching. I'm getting random soft sections in my 90s mobile home. Do you think its due to a roof leak or maybe busted pipe
Moisture under the house.
Your awesome man!
Thank you I’m only here to help other that don’t want to hire somebody to come in and hack their house up. I hope this helped and I have many more on the same thing floor repair on mobile homes check out my other videos.
Drew, im up here in the North East... winters are brutal, and i know this is a flooring video, but you were addressing condensation. I have that problem with my doors. The frame that attaches to the house gets cold and actually gets frost and ice during the winter. This is on the inside too. In the process the water dripping has ruined the floor and possible the rim joist. this will all be repaired in the spring. Any tips on how to stop that when i put the new door in?
W honest I’m not sure what you would do in that situation I have never seen that happen before I wish I could help
Remove trim around the door and spray foam anything between the door frame and the 2x4. Check your weather seal around your door too. Look for leaks if need be. Have someone shine a light with the door closed outside. If you can see any light between the door and outside, install a seal around the door and frame. I own a mobile home. If the door is damaged by someone kicking it or the wind grabbing it, it can twist the door and warp it. Check all your screws in the hinges. if any are loose and wont tighten. Replace with longer wood screws or use tooth picks and super glue and stuff them in the screw holes. Then you can put the original screws back in and they will be tight again.
Porch with roof so weather isn't coming up that close to door?Rain and snow anyways
Thank you for your comment or say that helps and as I was thinking about it if you use window wrap on the framing before you put the door in I think that might help to I appreciate your tips I see very very interesting some of the things you said I never thought of but I think doors and windows should have window wrap on them when installed which should help be a vapor barrier good question
That is also interesting idea thank you for your comment I think anything you can do to weatherize the door frame is good
I need that Saw because the floor I'm ripping up is ceramic tile
Harbor freight sells it for less than $100
Tip number 2, a heat gun to remove any adhesive flooring
I found out that a side grinder is the best way.
What is a guesstimate on 1-3 rooms ( double wide manufactured home) thanks for sharing these videos!
Probably somewheres around 3 to 4 grand labor and material
About how much time does it take four guys to rip up the flooring for about 600 sq.ft?
2 days out and back
I just bought a 72' single wide the floor feels solid, but the home feels like it is moving all the time when I walk in it or when you shower. Its like equaliberium is way off. Could it be just the straps?
Good question but it doesn’t sound good it sounds like to me like you need to make sure they’re blocking or whatever is holding up your house is still there solid.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair thank you very much for the reply! I just bought it a week ago and went in there the 1st time since then. It didn't feel that way before. The inspector said it was solid when he inspected it about a month ago. Could that happen that quick?
No it can not happen that quick
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair yikes. Ok thank you
Can you do a video on the installation of the new subflooring once the old is torn out? Like how to properly cut and lay it? :) Thanks man!

nice job but that guy needs a bigger saw sad to hear it labor like that on what should be a simple job cutting wood:)
I am wondering what the floor after the insulation is called and how to replace it?
It’s called under belly it’s basically a big tarp I’ve only replaced one on one trailer what a pain
How do you know where to start cutting as to not cut through the board?
In the middle of the floor set your Skil saw for 3/4 of an inch deep only cut out the square hit it with a hammer that will tell you how much deeper you need to go with your saw. Yeah so I can cut up to 3 inches thick you do not want to do that on your floor. Make sure you set it for 3/4 of an inch and you’ll be fine.
Safety first guys no gloves no glasses I'm just saying

How much does something like this cost to repair?
I charged 4500 for l/ m
Mobile home usually have fake tile. Y'all should cover that as well.
Yes sir a good idea
I hope you have a bunch of sharp blades it is some really tedious work
I yes it is. But it can be done. Mobile homes are not built lots house I think they do it on purpose
This mobile home has a wood subfloor then insulation then the floor? We are trying to put insulation in the bathroom but that cloth that holds the insulation is just the worst!
That can be a difficult situation Chris. If the underbelly is bad you will have to fix it somehow. I suggest using a tarp that you can buy at Lowe’s
I like to repair model home like fix thing in the house
I do also
Do you and your crew still travel ? Sure could use you in Monticello Indiana
That’s a long ways away from me I wish I could help you. We generally won’t go over for five hours anymore but during the summer time I quit doing all that traveling it’s too hot. Not to mention the prices of gone up so much I have to charge so much you would be able to afford it I’ll smoke
I would not be able to afford it
