I’m sure you have heard this from others, but you guys helped me to go ahead with some floor issues in my 1979 double widemobile home. There is water damage to several rooms from various pipes breaking over the years, with several “soft spots”. I was looking around on you tube to see what I could do to fix things. I stumbled onto your site and boy did I feel better. Having no (as in zip, zero, none) experience or knowledge about how mobile homes are built. I have now started demo on the floor of one of the bedrooms. I almost feel like I know you two because I have watched your videos over and over, trying to burn your tips into my brain. I’m about to start blocking between the joists. Amazing enough the joists seem to be in good shape. I’m retired so hopefully I will be able to finish the projects in my lifetime. 😉 Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I feel much more hopeful about continuing to live here without falling through the floor. I can’t thank you enough for being willing to video all your remodeling. I wouldn’t have started this if I hadn’t seen your channel.
That is so awesome to hear! We are so happy that we were able to be an inspiration or encouragement for you to take on such a project to improve your home and better your living! This is exactly why we try to make our videos educational and take the time to share! Best of luck on your home projects and be sure to see our playlists and channel for more videos. We have a lot on working on all sorts of things in our home! I hope you report back how it turned out.

Been living in mobile homes for the at least the last 35 years been there done that, everything from floor patches to new floors but learned something a couple years ago that has made these repairs so much easier if you are doing a whole room like you all are. Just overlay the whole floor with either 5/8 or 3/4 plywood so much better than tearing out that particle board junk with a million staples, you end up with 10 times less mess a smoother floor to put your covering of choice on. I have done both now and wonder why I didn't think of the overlay to start with. Granted if you are just patching a bad spot that doesn't work but for a whole room it so much better it ends up stronger and flatter and you can just put a trim piece on at door entry to make the transition. Anyway keep up the great work I enjoy your video's reminds me of when we were younger repairing our first mobile home it is an adventure LOL...

Oh my gosh, I have watched so many videos on removing the floor, many professional companies and this one is the first with your technique. Sawing down the center and removing the staples save so much mess and time. Remodeling a 1979 double wide next month and all the floors and walls have to be removed so thank you for this video! 💞
Wow! You will be saving on your energy bills when this room is properly insulated! You are right about contractors; some of them hide a mess. I enjoy watching and learning from you both! I'm gonna have to do some patch work on our doublewide floor. In a perfect world that particle board sheathing should last forever but it doesn't. After moisture or any water leaks its done for. Your doing it right, its worth the extra effort. I need to get me an oscillating cutter like you have. Those things will cut just about anything.
First of all great job guys, watching your videos has become a relief for me as i am very ignorant and have no experience in working with trailer homes. I was feeling very overwhelmed when i came to my mother in law's trailer to help her install flooring, upon inspecting the floors we found out the siding or aluminum sheets outside had some water condensation over the years and due to a tree being next to that side of the trailer water got into the floor and thus rotten some of it, being this was my first ever remodeling/patching job i got very stressed over it as i did not know how to go about it. I would like to thank you for showing me that any average joe like myself can actually get it started and finish it, i have realized that the oscillating tool is a must for any remodeling job. Thank you both for being such a great couple and for all the helpful knowledge you share, may Jah keep blessing your family and work. Thank you very much.
Amazing what is found when walls and floors are torn out. Happy to see you take your time and do it right. It will pay off in the end. The room is going to look great. God bless you.

As you saw, many don't take pride in their work especially if it's not their own home. Love how you're doing it right! Lots of work but worth the effort when it's finished! TFS :)
Don't judge others so harsh. Some things are beyond our funds. I had a whole new roof installed and before that I had bad leak that I was catching water from a bucket as I was removing it my foot when through the floor. I placed a board over the spot and it will stay there until I have the money to fix it. I am willing to live with just subfloor until I have the money to replace the flooring. It is hard to find renovators that will work on a mobile. I do take pride in my home.

You guys are awesome! You guys have great chemistry, and seem to work really well together! Thank you so much for letting me watch this process with you guys.
Me and my husband bought a fixer upper double wide and we have done replaced our subfloor in the kitchen and both bathrooms but we still have a few more rooms to do, mainly because when they built the house they didn't put no bracing where the plywood joins another piece all they have is the floor joyce running one way. We have done a lot of work to the property in 10 months of owning it but we still have so much to do till it is finished. We are doing renovations when we have the money to do it ( pretty much pay check to pay check) but we have went into debt buying the house and the property.
I’m starting my own project on remodeling a single wide And watching your video has really helped great selection on tools as well, thank you for sharing
Can watch RUclips on the TV. It is good to see you two “TV star”. Thank you for the videos. The boys bedroom renovation will be part of my fix for this duration.
Are you going to replace the floor insulation too? Seems that you have gone this far and it will definitely help with the heating and cooling. Great work so far!
Thanks for this vid, have a doublewide we bought to live in until we built a house, but then an unfortunate divorce happened, so I am going to repair this doublewide myself. paycheck to paycheck. Nice to see videos of someone else doing it. I've subscribed, and will be watching the rest of this series as I have the time :)
Awesome hard work we are going forward in purchasing a 1600 sq ft Jacobson manufacture home 1987. Wait a minute don’t laugh for 200k on a small lot but navigable water in back yard to the ocean... You are truly opening my eyes to how much work this rehab could be🤪🤦♀️.
Thank you. We are about to renovate a 26x80 Double wide and with surprise baby due in June we are adding a room and bathroo. On the back. Way over our head but pray for us.
That was hard work and Sam you are right if you are too tired to do it right you do need to stop and rest so when you go back at it you can do it right and not have to worry
It’s a year later and your video is still helpful, detailed and you two are so funny!! We are needing to replace areas of our mh until we can afford a new home. The amount licensed contractors were going to cost, we could use that as a down payment on a new one!!! So your videos gives us the directions for doing it ourselves. Thanks so much for sharing and being funny doing it!!😂🤪
Our pleasure! We're just about to finish our new pantry/laundry room reno so if you're interested in them, check out our newest videos. :) Since moving our home to another state (also in a video) we decided to do our last batch of renovations before moving back into it. In the meantime we're in a camper on our land. :)
Thank you for this I really need to replace some floors due to cat pee. Also, I have a rank smell coming from the floors/vents in the hot season which might mean I need to replace the floor insulation and whatever else needs replacing under there. I'm thinking of replacing the walls and insulation too. My mobilehome is a 2000 Silverado (or something like that). I know you will love your new home!
I have just binged watched your Kitchen/diner videos, soap shack, already seen the roof one ( came over from Diyferent) and now watching the boys bedroom makeover. Loving your Chanel and your videos, I know I have a few years to catch up on but I am sure I will eventually. Take care and God bless, oh and thanks for sharing.
Thank yoi guys. I know its been a couple years since this video. I hqve been trying to find a general handyman who does everything with trailers and they dont seem to be around as much so its looking like i will have to do my own as well.❤
Good job well done‼️ 👏 🤩 Breathe. Progress feels good❗Now you can move on. Blocking is a back breaker, but oh so satisfying a job. 👌 I'll over before you know it, and you'll be SO glad you did it‼️👍😎
Gotta love the old mobile home flooring....it's like pressed saw dust. SMH. The siding is like a barndominium/pole barn home siding, just sayin'. Glad you showed a bit of the blocking, I was having a hard time 'seeing' it during the patch. Good info. we are going to have to replace a floor and will be blocking. Thanks!! Glad you recognized that it was time to stop, possibly would have led to later regrets.
I found your video today. My '88 double wide has 2 weak/soft spots in the utility room floor. This gives me an idea of how to begin working on my floor. Thanks for you video!
Don’t get down. I’m a big heavyset boy myself. And it takes me sometimes a week to do one project. The main thing is is always get back on that horse and keep moving the next day or a few days after. And it will get done.
Great question, and one that gets answered in our next video. But to answer you now... no. That insulation is key for keeping our pipes from freezing as it forms the bottom layer of the home's underbelly. Now, that being said, we will do as we've done in other areas of the home and insulate the floor between the joists to keep the inside of the home warmer. :)

We have done a lot of work to the property in 10 months of owning it but we still have so much to do till it is finished. We are doing renovations when we have the money to do it ( pretty much pay check to pay check) but we have went into debt buying the house and the property.
I’m starting my own project on remodeling a single wide
And watching your video has really helped great selection on tools as well, thank you for sharing
Can watch RUclips on the TV. It is good to see you two “TV star”. Thank you for the videos. The boys bedroom renovation will be part of my fix for this duration.
you can do it.
This channel is awesome for mobile home investors
Are you going to replace the floor insulation too? Seems that you have gone this far and it will definitely help with the heating and cooling. Great work so far!
Yeah, and how about the ceiling?
I use r-19 in my floors
Thanks for this vid, have a doublewide we bought to live in until we built a house, but then an unfortunate divorce happened, so I am going to repair this doublewide myself. paycheck to paycheck. Nice to see videos of someone else doing it. I've subscribed, and will be watching the rest of this series as I have the time :)
I enjoy watching you, and may God bless the labour on your hands 🙏🏻🤓
That's a lot of work. Been there, done that. Good idea taking a break.
Location, location, location! :) Sounds awesome to have the water access! Good luck with any renos you do!
Thank you. We are about to renovate a 26x80 Double wide and with surprise baby due in June we are adding a room and bathroo. On the back. Way over our head but pray for us.
I do appreciate you guys showing every step. It makes it easier for me to understand and learn.
Cute flip flops but, dangerous footwear for construction. It is probably what I would wear. 🤣. Great work!
Nice work, the room is going to be a big improvement. ❤
Yay for getting r done!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next! ☮️💖🙏
That was hard work and Sam you are right if you are too tired to do it right you do need to stop and rest so when you go back at it you can do it right and not have to worry
I can’t wait for it to come to gether I know it’s going to be beautiful tyfs hugs
I enjoy watching your videos you two are a great couple working together is not always easy plus when you get done you will have a new home
Can’t wait to see the next one. Keep up the great work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
Way to go bro. 👍🏼 for your wife. A great helper.
Nice to see you clean up other people stuff. Good job
GREAT Job Guy's, I love watching your videos
Thank you for this I really need to replace some floors due to cat pee. Also, I have a rank smell coming from the floors/vents in the hot season which might mean I need to replace the floor insulation and whatever else needs replacing under there. I'm thinking of replacing the walls and insulation too. My mobilehome is a 2000 Silverado (or something like that). I know you will love your new home!
Enjoy your videos very much - your personalities make the mundane but hard work very watchable!
Oh my gosh, you guys are such a good team.
thanks for taking the time to record and share, plus all of your comments.
Our pleasure!
Thank you do much for these videos! We're replacing a mobile home bedroom floor this weekend, so I'm sure I'll be referring back to your videos often.
Thank yoi guys. I know its been a couple years since this video. I hqve been trying to find a general handyman who does everything with trailers and they dont seem to be around as much so its looking like i will have to do my own as well.❤
You guys work hard, but it will be super when it's done.
It's the outcome that keeps us going through the grunt work. :)
Good job well done‼️ 👏 🤩
Breathe. Progress feels good❗Now you can move on. Blocking is a back breaker, but oh so satisfying a job. 👌 I'll over before you know it, and you'll be SO glad you did it‼️👍😎
Love your videos and the pride you take in your work...God Bless you 2❣
You two do great work! Enjoy your channel.
Great job guys! Thanks for video!!
Thanks for taking the time to do the patch job, very helpful
I did carpet and tack strip removal a couple decades ago. It was tough. I glad I never have to do that again.
I enjoy watching your DIY projects.
Good hard work and done right way.
Don’t get down. I’m a big heavyset boy myself. And it takes me sometimes a week to do one project. The main thing is is always get back on that horse and keep moving the next day or a few days after. And it will get done.
Its going to be all brand new....great job as always
You work so well together the boys will be so happy. Sam are going to replace the insulation in the floor?
Great question, and one that gets answered in our next video. But to answer you now... no. That insulation is key for keeping our pipes from freezing as it forms the bottom layer of the home's underbelly. Now, that being said, we will do as we've done in other areas of the home and insulate the floor between the joists to keep the inside of the home warmer. :)
Love what u r doing. It is my hope to be able to buy a used mobile home and fix it up so that once I retire I will not have to pay payments
Love it! I Have about 90% of a floor to take out in a 84 doublewide
I’m loving the soundtrack to your videos 😊👍🏻
Yay, thank you!
I love your DIY videos. You two rock!!!!!
Oh my goodness what a chore this project is I know that your ready for it to be in the finishing stages.
If you haven't drywalled yet, seal gap at top & bottom plate against metal siding. HUGE energy savings for a few cans of foam.
