Scott The Woz Quick question: What's with the blue border?
Hey, ill lend you my extra third kidney, if you'd like to have two again.
Scott The Woz maybe the title "console rip offs" instead of nes classic rip offs would have been better
That green hill theme from the mini Genesis sounded like it was gonna sneak up behind me and steal half my spine
omg its miku
May I steal the remaining half? Pretty please.
Holy shit, I just remembered one Christmas when I was younger, I had gotten the Atari Flashback 5 I had wanted. It was getting late and my dad and I just played it for hours, he had grown up playing atari and I just thought that it was cool, I specifically remember us playing a lot of Basketball. What I wouldn't give to go back to that night
That's nice.
Same, I had the exact same thing happen to me lol
My dad got a Flashback X a while back, and we played space invaders quite a bit.
I had a similar experience with the 6. Many a thumb was worn out over Asteroids.
I love that the kidney joke went full circle.
His jokes allways do that...
I just found a refurbished kidney online
@MAD Alchemist goto his about section

Darn, the about isn't accurate anymore
I used to play the genisis firecore so the horrible sound is nostalgic to me
nt mega yooooo same
I got one in 2013, but that version was way worse than the one mentioned in the video. The audio was worse and there was an awful puke green filter over everything. It had pretty bad input delay too and sometimes would drop inputs, even when I was next to the console and the IR sensor was right in front of the console. I’m not sure if I am alone on this issue, but my 2nd player controller would constantly randomly turn on and press random inputs. It was pretty much impossible to play anything because it was seriously that bad
@@basiltheleafeon make a video about it!
Same
I have one of the older Atgames Sega Genesis models with Streets Of Rage and Ecco The Dolphin (which I'd sacrifice in a heartbeat for Mortal Kombat) and while that sound is different I wouldn't call it bad. Maybe because that little piece of plastic is the only way I've ever played Genesis games but I digress.
Other RUclipsrs intros: "Hey there everyone, this is your boy [RUclipsr name] and TODAY we're gonna be looking at ALTERNATIVES to the NES and SNES Classic!"
Scott's intos: "I need a kidney transplant, I have 3 days to live"
It's "Hey, all."
@@masonwarner6853 i thought it was "hey y'all"
The AT games doesn’t even let you combine Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
SkullyMemes Do you have one?
No one You know. I have one, and only let you play Sonic and Knuckles
NicholasKAnything//Alaskiandevil49 Ok
No one You know I used too. It stopped working.
SkullyMemes Oh, haha. Then it must be truly crap with that quality.
Aren’t you glad Sega released an oficial Genesis mini now? With good emulation and an ok menu?
Yes I am very glad, but I still wish it had the ability to play physical cartridges.
@@wumpus976 Just buy an actual Genesis at that point bro.

Fun fact: for the atgames handheld genesis you can put an sd card into it to play more genesis games.
If you want a truly good emulation console, go with a raspberry pi, or buy a used Wii, install Homebrew on it, and play all the old games ever. Both of those will work just as well as an NES or SNES classic.
nextlastgengamer and if you want to go portable the PSP is a pretty decent emulation machine for NES, SNES, GBA, Genesis, etc.
With a microsd adapter you can fit all their ROMs and have plenty of PSP games as well.
Hansbald I absolutely love my Wii. It plays pretty much every ROM I throw at it, even a lot of PS1 and 64 games. Plus it does GameCube ISOS. You honestly have nothing to lose by buying one. I tell anyone who talks about wanting a classic nes or SNES that they should look into a Wii instead.
My favorite emulation console is my computer.
TommyTom A cult classic
I have an old Wii, but how do you get homebrew...
You gotta believe at 3:05 I immediately noticed the Wario Land Shake It music. I just subscribed for that

Grayson L. It is more Christian Wolfenstein.
The Atari Flashback 2 - specifically the 2 - was actually a really solid mini console; mainly because it actually ran on a scaled down version of the 2600, rather than an emulator or a weird "console on a chip." It was even planned to have a cartridge port, and while they didn't actually add it, all of the hardware required to add one yourself is still on the board; it's even marked so you can easily do it yourself. Games were also pretty good, it had all the actual good games plus a few prototypes that were never actually released.
😆Is "actually" your favorite word or something? LOL
It's good that sega finally released a great definitive genesis plug and play console that is actually good
My uncle has the Atari Flashback and it's one of my favorite consoles. A lot of the games run really well, and it's really easy to use

Really like your channel, man. Never lose the authenticity and personality you put into your videos. It really sets you apart from the loads of other video game channels on here I can barely stand to watch
even nearly 4 years later with a bigger budget and audience, scott has kept and arguably improved the charm hes had since the beginning
6:55 The 'Retro-Bit' had "Rival Turf" TWICE!
Scott didn’t want to be attacked by waves of people saying that the consoles aren’t wannabes, so he changed the thumbnail and title.
And I would have done the same
I'm glad you noted that most of these were out WAY before Nintendo's offering. The atari flashback helped on long trips to grandmas as a kid and definetly launched my love for retro games.
3:36 my left ear is loving this!
"all here, hey scott!" wow. hes just every person lmao
0:08 all here hey Scott
2:50, I actually HAD a genesis classic when I was little! Specifically the 80 games in one version. Just got hit with a wave of nostalgia when you showed that.
6:58 that’s no way to store ringking
I still have the original Atari Flashback console & live it to this day! The controllers are really comfortable to use as well & it definitely made my childhood! Warlords was my favorite!
I own the Atari Flashback 8 and it’s epic I love it so much
AT GAMES music: *scary and high pitched"
Creepypasta creators: write that down write that down!
Scott: "Everybody wants an NES &/or SNES Classic."
Me: "Hold my Cartidges."
In the 1st grade, I had a Colecovision Flashback that I was OBSESSED with playing.
Mom, I want a Snes classic!
Mom: we have Snes classic at home.
Snes classic at home:
"Refurbished kidney" is an underrated joke and I don't want it to go unnoticed.
When I heard the Genesis classic sonic theme, I got scared
Jokes on you I have a pal model with the games & music slightly slowed down... I’m only glad I own this because someone else doesn’t have one.
8:49 my workplace had a Varth machine in the breakroom i used to play every day. I almost bought the Retro Bit machine solely for that game, then it turned out to be the most disappointing part of the system.

Omg, the “analogy alert” has got me rollin! 😂
That Retro-Bit Generations has composite video, not component. The difference? Component is actually good.
Composite is red, yellow, and white while component is red, blue, and green.
@@MrPAULONEAL Composite is just yellow.
I had an AtGames Sega Genesis portable system that I used when I went to computer camp.
One time we had to go into a church because it was raining, and I just took out my AtGames to pass the time. It felt cheap, but it worked I suppose.

0:08 All here, hey Scott.
I’m getting a PlayStation Classic on December 3rd.
did you get it? is it good?
Oof
I feel SOOOOO bad
funny because in Australia and Europe we got an atgames Sega mega drive (genesis) remastered which came with double the games a cartridge slot and the sound is perfect.
*ALL* *HERE* , *HEY* *SCOTT*
6:08 *composite
component are the 5 cables, red white for sound and red, green and blue for video :)
Composite can be spread across any number of cables as long as they carry separate components of a signal's composition.
AT Games has a way you can fix the sound by plugging in headphones
But it's only for the portable version, this is really sadly
That's not a fix, it's a band-aid on a bullet wound.
I know this is quite a few months since your video was released, but the Retrobit SuperRetrocade is absolutely outstanding. A huge upgrade over the Retrobit Generations.
The day I can’t play eco the dolphin is the day the sun explodes
I still have my og atari flashback. It was probably the best of the mid-00's plug & play craze.
Today, Scott get's a working kidney.
the intros of your videos are so good
5:12 I'm saving this for later
Retro-Bit actually Re-Released the Generations as the "Super Retro-Cade" which fixes a bunch of problems the Generations had and has better games as well as unique controllers. It's good that they listened to feedback. I recommend that version.
They're not wannabes if they came out first
I guess he meant that they forced their classic consoles down our throats but hey idk
He metions that they came years before.
Jordan Benton, my point still stands
They wannabe official but aren't
Yeah but Nintendo still did it best.
Modern PC plus BigBox and you are in game heaven, sometimes I wonder why I'm so interested in these when I have something 100x better.
Oh boy do I love hearing AT games’s weird audio with my left ear
So that's why i didn't hear anything... I was listening with the right speaker of my headphones
That’s probably why the music is so funky. It mono, not stereo
I have the ultimate mini console: A Samsung Galaxy S8 and knockoff Switch controller. If I want to play on my TV, I have a USB-C HDMI dongle. Retroarch is my emulation app of choice.
3:36 and thus, my right ear died on me
3:48 that felt nice... really nice
I find it funny that me and my friend love the sound of Sonic 1 on the Sega Genesis mini, it has something I really can't explain, but when I hear it, I can't help but shake my head to it.
Is it perhaps raw fear? I hear a lot of that when I listen to it...
Not exactly @@CurlyChop
@@Spider-Man-257 i can't lie i completely forgot i said this lol
They're not rip-offs if they came out first.
Some of those Sega/Atari flashback consoles he mentions are OLDER than the NES and SNES flashback consoles, you imbecile.
He didn't say they were rip offs tho
He says they're wannabes, which is essentially saying they're a rip-off.
Yes because that makes logical sense. Ripoffs don’t exists if someone does something first.
Thomas Ruth Scott isn’t saying they came out after the NES Classic, but that they started promoting them harder after the NES Classic came out
I’m one of those lucky fortunate few who has both the NES and SNEs classic edition, and I love them both.
Some of those came before the nes classic sooo if anyone is ripping off anyone it would be Nintendo
Except they have existed well before even those... the only thing "new" is these are "official"
But the NES has the most quality+ It had commercials
Goforitman ! They still rip off the original console which is owned by Nintendo these unofficial game comps have been around since forever Nintendo just made an official one to make some easy dough a good business decision.
Goforitman ! Yea your right
Brian Preston Official, but the ATgames ones are official, they're licensed. Those games aren't abandonware and the consoles aren't either. I'm pretty sure they're endorsed. At least the sega one.
The greatest start to any video in history
Hit or miss you say?
Tik tok: *heavy breathing*
I have an Atari plug n play console that comes included with Pitfall. It was the main reason I bought it, because those Atari collections on consoles didn't have it due to licensing reasons, which is a shame because it was the best game available for the system. I also own the only Sega Genesis plug n play console that doesn't suck, but for some reason I still haven't gotten around to using it. Now I currently have too many plug n play systems as it is, and will probably save up for a mini PC as an all in one device for emulation and PC gaming on the TV.
At 6:12 you said component output, but that device doesn't have component out. It had composite out, which is massively inferior to component. If it was component, then there would be incentive to use it on my Sony PVM.
Do your research. Composite has one cable. Component video has three cables. Component can be plenty of colours.
@@ΣωτήρηςΠούτνης Not true. Composite has three cables (one video, two audio), Component has five (3 video, two audio). The inputs on the back of the unit is definitely composite.
@SQ38 My TV has both Composite and YPbPr, both on the same three yellow, white and red ports.
@SQ38 Here is the model number: Hyundai 32HYN3206. I've been able to connect both a VCR that supports component to it (without sound) and a crappy bootleg console with Composite and Mono sound.
@@ΣωτήρηςΠούτνης And how exactly do you get component video and audio out of three ports?
I know this video is 3 years old, but I will say I have the 2018 AtGames Genesis, the AtGames legends flashback with 100 games and the Super RetroCade(the follow up to the retro bit system reviewed here) and all seem greatly improved over what was in this video.
6:24 look at the top left player name.

The AtGames Genesis was there before the NES Classic.

My dude growing so fast been subbed since a little before the sonic 2 vid
They aren’t even close to wannabes at all whatsoever because they came out first!
Im pretty sure he mentioned that -_-
They’re still wannabes. They literally started to produce more in an attempt to compete with the nes classic. They’re trying to make money off the nes craze
Brandon x22 yeah but Nintendo still did the best job at doing it.
