My Stepdad is a electrician. back in the day he managed to get hold of a grand master system key and fashioned a copy from his red flathead insulated screwdriver. bosses knew he had access but because he hid the key inside the red sleeve they never caught him with the key. pretty clever
I have seen this before also. Makes perfect sense considering the shape of the key. That was fun to watch. Guess it takes a very good picture to make a good key. I knew a locksmith is California that cut a key on sight for a car based on what he saw sitting on the car seat while looking at through the window.

I'm a bit relieved, I have an Abloy with this core and at first sight of the video title I thought you did something to the equivalent of raking but you basically made a key : )
They are still fantastic locks & pretty different to open without the key. After reading a Twitter that said someone had filed a key from a pencil i had to give it a try. 😊 Ive done other video on picking them open. 👍 Have a great week.
My dad did something similar with my grandparents door lock when I was a teenager and left the only key inside their place. 😬😆 He was mad as hell, and filed down another Abloy key to fit the lock, all the while telling me if I ever spoke of it, he would come for my neck. Granted he did work at a locksmiths' when he was young, and there are Abloy locks everywhere in Finland. Well RIP dad, now that you're gone, I can finally tell the story without getting killed in the process! 😂😂

@@dazevers Thank you, it didn't occur to me at the time that it's certainly not the easiest thing in the world to do, because he made it seem so effortless! And it took time for me to realize that the reason he didn't want me to tell anyone was that just making a new key like that, by filing another Abloy key, is something that he wasn't really supposed to be able to do, not every one could, can, or should! But the way it seemed so easy for him to just do that instead of calling a locksmith somehow clouded my mind and I didn't think it was a big deal. My dad, the potential criminal.. 😁😁 It's a cool story about him, and now I understand how unlikely it is that somebody could just make a key like that. Abloy keys only need about 5 degree accuracy for a cut (cut is measured in degrees from the uncut surface, and the deepest cut is 90 degree with 15 degree per step). The tolerances are only barely tight enough to not allow half cut key to match both choices. The spacing between the discs required about 0.5 mm accuracy so that may be harder part with hand file.
Great job Daz! Very entertaining video, splendid, please keep it up! I was surprised you did so much filing after the first attempt, it worked out obviously but I would've expected you to impression it from there, or do very subtle adjustments, trying after each stroke or something like that. I ship what ì can,and sometimes I get from people, you just send out packages of what ever, because when the other person has sent out what they call A sweet package they think mine is cheep. I don't understand. I'm not making a penny on any videos. I just wanted to build up a great bunch of subscribers. I'm not bitter at anyone, because they no not what they are talking about. How do you handle this kind of comments without wanting to throw in the towel. I'm afraid to add up the packages and locks I have bought and have given out. But some of the Un- regulars really make it hard to go on. Sorry bro I'm feeling down after all that has happened to me in the last couple of weeks. And please believe I know my true friends on here. Sounding like a little girl. Got to get more pain meds in me and chill. Sorry my brother. Looking for a reason to quit.
Sorry to dump on you,I don't have a lot of people that have helped me out in the beginning like you. I'm hurting
I’ll drop you an email. Keep you head up mate. 👍
Haha, awesome my friend. I didn't think it would work but you managed it. Well done.👍🏻🍺 Oh, I think I seen that lock on eBay recently, I was gonna bid on it but was worried about the weight. Lol. Glad you done a first for RUclips my friend, hats off to you buddy.😃✌😎🇦🇺
Thanks Don, I was so curious to see if it was possible, & I nearly fell of my chair when the lock opened, totally awesome. It was great to do something different as well. Have a great weekend mate.

The biggest clickbait I've seen yet. You literally opened it with a key.
Janne Paananen Yeah hand filed from a pencil, from a photo copy, 👍
@@dazevers I thought its impossible to open an Abloy lock without "this tool which Bosnianbill and I made".
Janne Paananen lol they are really tricky lock to pick open, even with a specialised pick, I will get this lock picked open in a more traditional way soon. 😎👍
