Michael thank you for taking the time to record this. I have no idea how I stumbled upon this video but I found watching this strangely cathartic. All the best, my friend.
Marc Menzies never know when you will need to tape off your cabinets sir! Lol have a great day
Thanks for making this video. Huge time saver. I was making a mess of things trying to tape from the outside.
Nice Work Man, Thanks for taking the time to make this !!! Appreciate it !!
You’re welcome! I really wish there were informative videos when I was starting to learn how to do all this. Hopefully it helps people.
Thanks for the demo answers my question!!
Very nice, I’m going to try using paper now. Thank and God Bless
Fred Greathead will leave you with less flakes
Great video. I was doing a touchup job on a kitchen today and said to myself, there's got to be a trick to taping and hanging the paper in cabinet openings. I eventually, after finishing 3 cabinets...approached the taping the way you did...however going all the way across will save a ton more time then cutting tape for each section. Thanks for sharing this tip.
Matt Vredenburg glad it helped you save some time!
Great awesome video
Thanks!
Super! Do you recommend removing the tracks of the drawers (on upper half) Or tape around those? I'm worried that I won't be able to put them back correctly. This was super helpful to a novice like me. :) Thank you!
Awesome, so question, do you clean prep and sand first, also when you sand between coats and vacuum, how does the paper hold verses plastic? Love the tutorial.
Kelly Dannemann I clean and sand and clean prior to taping. Personally I like paper for boxes, as the coating builds on plastic then likes to flake off, sometimes while you are spraying next to it which is no good
Awesome, good to know, what about sanding between coats, with the poly enduro, or do you only sand if it needs it?
Kelly Dannemann I sand if it needs it
Thank you again Michael, I appreciate it. I am changing kitchen from Lamp Black to the Poly Enduro White. I really fell in love with that paint. The shine is nice and the durablility is great.
How do you cut the paper if the open is smaller (side to side)? Thanks
I Get a short roll and fold it over lengthwise
How do you do this with drawer sliders where the cabinet devides?
We take out the drawer slides. If they are the built in kind we create a fake lip with tape
Michael Craine thank you. I’m doing this type of job right now and you’ve been a big help. Thanks again!
So they make paper in certain widths?
GLORIA GARZA yep, various widths. A roll is only a couple dollars so I always make sure I have a few of each sizes before I start a project
Michael Craine where do you buy the paper?
bklyn2va2dc it’s sold at Sherwin Williams Home Depot Lowe’s etc
They have 16inch 6inch & 8inch depending what u need
And never use plastic paper because when u spray for second time , the paint flakes off and makes damage to 2nd new spray coat , tried plastic and it's a mess
Seems like brushing these boxes would take less time.
It would, however the client paid to have a sprayed finish
Also did anyone else get the feeling like nails on a chalkboard listening to his razor knife cut the paper?!?! Love your content man but please switch out that blade!
Good feedback. I’ve been waiting 2.5 years for some criticism on this one and I’m extremely suprised it wasn’t “this video is 3/4 a shot of your ass”
Michael Craine Keep up the good work my friend!
@@chaslaspata5385 thank you and I will make sure to change out my blades from now on
