    Seeing Zootopia as #3 on this list of all Disney films is an incredible achievement, and I wholeheartedly agreement with your assessement of it. If there is one Disney film each generation needs to see, it is Zootopia.

    Zootopia is one of the greatest movies, the story of racism and prejudice and the interactions between Judy and Nick are amazing. It’s a truly adult movie hiding behind the story of a kids movie, I think it deserves better than most people give it credit for
    Edit:I also believe inside out could’ve been done so much better, it is a beautiful story of the human mind and adjusting to change, Riley running away is an amazing scene, but the way joy acts towards sadness is one of the most annoying things about the movie

    • @helenaperez4343
      @helenaperez4343 5 лет назад +20

      (Ian Atkins) Two things:
      -I totally agree with you on Zootopia. However, I do have one issue with the movie- the twist villain is really bad. They don’t reveal she’s evil until the last 10 minutes of the movie, so she couldn’t make a real presence, or leave a mark on me. What’s more- there is no foreshadowing to her hating her job as the Assistant Mayor; she’s just overworked and tired. Apart from that, Zootopia is an amazing movie.
      -Was Joy a jerk? Yes. Was her actions entirely justified? Not really. But the thing is- these are emotions. Emotions belonging to an 11 year old, at that. This is an actual thing in real life; as child, people’s emotions only really think of themselves, but as they mature, they begin to become inclusive of each other. Joy was rude to Sadness because she was, for lack of a better term, immature. Joy and Sadness are exact opposites, so Joy couldn’t understand anything Sadness did. However, that’s her arc. It’s the arc for all of the emotions, in fact. They realized that they all needed each other, for the best mental health.

    • @Toadthefungi

      yeah i do agree with you about joy

    • @pumpkinoligarchy6626
      @pumpkinoligarchy6626 5 лет назад +5

      I think it was supposed to be that way, it makes complete sense why Joy would not like Sadness and the whole point of the movie was Joy understanding why Sadness was also an important emotion

      I heard there might be a 2 sequels

    • @aniallater33
      @aniallater33 5 лет назад +3

      That is the point. They want you to think ‘Wait what? Joy, the emotion we all want and love, is annoying?’ They want us to realise that our need to feel happy can push out other, necessary, emotions.

    I’m surprised The Princess and the Frog wasn’t on this list. It really captured all of its settings and provided a diverse cast of characters and voice actors, for God’s sakes- OPRAH voices the main character, Tiana. And the songs- OH the songs, not only do they have that New Orleans spirit, (where the movie takes place) they actually advance the plot and make the movie so much better.

      We believe every choice on the list except for Peter Pan (1953) and The Little Mermaid (1989). Princess Ariel is not a "powerful animated woman" like even PhantomStrider (debatably) makes her look. In fact, every other film on the list is phenomenal compared to these films because their protagonists are FAR more in character (even though they do have epic villains) and empowerment-encouraging. With that said, I will admit that both films have expertly crafted animation, and that's their charm. If you like these films more than me, power to you!

      Not to mention he didn't have his own song to make him stand out in the slightest. Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of the most iconic villains in the Disney universe, because he was an artistic villain, and his villain song stood out because it wasn't about being evil, it was about fearing eternal damnation. Though I'm not sure how the Catholic church of mother Mary works, but I'm pretty sure murdering someone doesn't counter act a sin, it just adds another one on top, because murder is every bit as sinful as lust.

    Is no one gonna talk about Meet the Robinsons? That movie has one of the best soundtracks from Disney I've ever heard, the characters are so cool and creative, especially Franny, Lewis and Wilbur, the animation is memorable and I don't think anyone else could replace Danny Elfman or Rob Thomas. I hate that it's underrated 'cause that movie's PERFECT!!! Also, it was my childhood, so that's another reason why. And it has a memorable message too, and I think it should've won an Oscar... :-(

    in my humble opinion, zootopia is the greatest animated disney movie ever made. some of you may think i'm giving it more praise than it really deserves but when you think about it, it's not only the perfect disney movie, but the perfect animated movie in general as well. it had a great story, a very well written script, unforgettable characters that remain in your heart long after you watch it for the first time, a great mix of hillarious comedy for both the kids and adults, and to top it off, probably the greatest message in any disney movie ever that reflects perfectly on today's society and can speak to many older viewers who watch the movie. we may never see a animated disney movie as phenomenal as zootopia again. oh and i also forgot to mention that the movie obviously has outstanding animation/visuals :)

      you might have to be a certain age to connect with the last scene the scene was dedicated to the kids who grew up with it. like the 90s babies Andy grew up and left his childhood ways behind him anybody who was a kid when the first toy story came out can relate emotionally because the third one came out when we were in our 20s basically the college fase with andy. or anybody who was emotionally attached to a toy and gave it away can also relate.also the reason why it gets to me is remembering what woody went through to be with Andy he went through hard times for Andy and in the third movie even tho he knew his bestfriend was gone forever into adulthood he still went through hell for those last few minutes with him when he could've just stayed with the girl in the first place. he wanted his last goodbye first and they did a great job displaying and pulling heart strings on friendship.

    Movies like zootopia isn't only the movie to punch me in the gut, it was like walt knew my long dead grandma, and put her into her own world and let her have her own exciting life within animals, when I watch zootopia, I don't see judy hops, I see grandma, ironically so her name was judy too, and inside out, it reminds me that its ok to cry, i-i don't know what else to say, I rarely cry so when I see a message or a relateble character, it just, makes me safe to cry..❤

    2. Inside out
    (The characters the story the way they executed the lesson and story was excellent I love it when Disney gives out relatable topics like moving away I love how it’s teaching us that it’s ok that your not ok we all have good days just like we have our bad days the lesson the maturity of this movie was just so adorable and genius)

    Judy Hopps is the best Disney heroine of all time.
    She's superbly resourceful, as we see in her early training montage when she turns her small size to her advantage.
    She's determined, absolutely refusing to quit when things go badly for her.
    She's flawed. She makes mistakes. Yet she learns from them. When she screws up big time, she admits her error and puts it right.
    Also, Zootopia is one of the very few female-led Disney films I can think of which centers on a heroine's JOB, rather than familial bonds or romance.

    • @larrylovehandle8472
      @larrylovehandle8472 7 лет назад +2

      Guy 111 the constant obsession with race and prejudice is liberal propaganda. The film was written in an artless heavy-handed way that made it completely unwatchable. the fox and the hound has the same basic theme but done with far more restraint and subtlety. And the whole concept of zootopia where every species lives together in harmony is an obvious stand in for the globalist multi cultural agenda.

    • @jorgemormichael5011
      @jorgemormichael5011 7 лет назад +6

      larry lovehandle the movie portraits the actual society, if you find the movie unwatchable, not because of the characters, the storytelling or the animation, but because of the social issues is because you must find that society often sucks. In the movie mammals discriminate a fox for being a fox. You think that (in the us) people don't discriminate black people, mexicans, muslims, etc, just for being what they are?
      Clearly nowadays theres also an obsession with race and prejudices IN REAL LIFE

    I love how Inside Out was at the top. That movie was the closest thing to film perfection to me. I loved everything about it from the animation to the characters to its relatability to the wildly creative and accurate interpretations of psychology. Because of its relatability (Riley moved to another state; at the time of its release, I finished fifth grade, and I was going to a different school from the rest of my grade; I didn't make many friends and I've always had trouble with it, and I felt like I was going right back to square 1; I also moved to another state the summer before seventh grade, but came back to my home state a year later), it was the only movie that made me cry. I cried in the theater when I first watched it, and I cried again the next time I saw it. Even if I don't cry while watching it now, it's still a pretty much perfect movie that I will recommend to anyone.

    My Top 10 Favorite Disney Movies:
    10. Wreck-It Ralph - The writing in this film is perfect and it practically uses the video game formula very well. It has great characters and more heart at all.
    9. Beauty and the Beast - Disney did very well in this film, the songs are fantastic, the chemistry between the Beast and Belle is extremely executed and the storytelling is perfect.
    8. Alice in Wonderland - Every scene where Alice had her adventures in Wonderland is entertaining. All the craziness and the nonsenses sequences are executed very well and the animation is amazing. It’s like the Pink Elephants sequence from Dumbo but it’s the entire movie.
    7. Lady and the Tramp - This film is more relaxing and charming than any other Disney film that came out of the Silver Age, the interaction that Lady had with Tramp during the film is executed in a charming way and it’s one of the Disney films that is stunningly animated.
    6. Zootopia - The action scenes are great, the character development is excellent, Nick and Judy had awesome chemistry and it has a timeless message that everyone should learn. It’s also one of the Disney movies that delivers one of the best humor.
    5. Lilo & Stitch - Lilo is one of those characters that I can relate, her relationship with Nani is super realistic and every action/comedy sequence is extremely executed.
    4. The Lion King - The whole film isn’t based on a book or novel so Disney really did a great job working and creating on this film, every musical sequence is breathtaking and the plot is really epic.
    3. Fantasia - The animation and performances is really great, Chernabog is my favorite Disney villain of all time and everything in this film is wonderful and truly a masterpiece.
    2. Aladdin - The songs are really catchy, it has full cast of enjoyable characters, every action scene is astonishing and Robin Williams’s role for the Genie is very excellent.
    1. Encanto - The best Disney film IMO. Isabela and Mirabel’s sibling rivalry is really fun to watch with it’s voice acting and mesmerizing lines. all of the songs were fun, it has gorgeous animation and some of the characters were relatable.

      Plus he showed he didn't like the movie anywhere near as much as Frozen, which is way too much of an unpopular opinion (welp, technically, it is a popular opinion, but people were criticized for liking Big Hero 6 and most other Disney films over Frozen by either being lectured or even worse, having their lives threatened for having that opinion!!!!! I know I was!!!!!! Talk about being overhated!!!!) when clearly, Big Hero 6 is everything he described Frozen quality-wise more so than fact-wise (except for the over-popularity bit because Big Hero 6 is highly popular, but not too much like Illumination Entertainment's Minions or RUclipsrs like Ray William Johnson, iJustine, PewDiePie and Onision).

      To be fair that's all the scenes with him, I adore the idea of voodoo and black magic, and Disney did a great job with it.

    Mary Poppins has always been my most favorite Disney film of all time! Rewatching it as an adult, it still holds up and it leaves a bigger impression on me! It really is a magical film that can’t be replicated. It’s like Wizard of Oz. Bert is my fav character and as a kid I always danced to Step in Time. So much energy and excitement in one dance sequence. A rush of energy you wish never ended. That scene where Mr. Banks walking still gives me goosebumps. It’s like Nostalgia Critic said, claiming it as one of the best scenes in cinema. It left a mark on me as a kid. Even critics have said that its Walt Disney’s crowning achievement. It will always be my favorite Disney movie ever!

    80% of the people who actually like Zootopia, Frozen, and Inside out actually saw it before they became advertising monsters. So separate over-comercialization with how good a movie is. I'm tired of people picking on those movies (haven't seen zootopia yet).

    I loved Ratatouille...the scenery (especially of Paris at night) was spectacular. The characters were well done. Comedic elements were perfectly timed. The instrumental soundtrack added another layer. It's still my personal top Pixar film. What are your thoughts Strider?
