I think Judy Hopps is easily one of the best Disney female protagonists, especially since her character isn't made up by those typical Disney clichés, and she has a pretty realistic and relatable personality. Even if Zootopia wasn't a good movie, she would still make it worth a watch.
What makes her so great is how her dream of being a good cop is constantly challenged throughout the whole movie. Her parents don't like the idea of her being a cop, the bullies tell her she can't be a cop, she is almost proven right by them when she attends to the academy and has to work extra hard here. When she finally is a cop, her chief never gives her the big dangerous cases, Nick (at first) tells her that her dreams won't work out in the end and makes fun of her, and so on. Judy, while it wears her down, always stays true to herself. But then, the thing she's been most afraid of happens to Zootopia, and she blames herself for it, and this finally breaks her. She fought to prove prejudice wrong, and now all of Zootopia is prejudiced against predators. But she manages to come back when Zootopia needs her and get over her guilty feelings. She finally overcomes even this biggest hardship. In the end, she is the cop she always wanted to be, despite all struggles. Not only did she overcome the struggles, but she also learned from them, becoming much wiser and stronger. And that's why she's such an amazing character.

The first time I watched Zootopia, it was pretty difficult to forget a moment or the characters that made it quite a beauty of a modern Disney animated film. And yes, I had "Try Everything" stuck in my head for weeks after that, until I saw Big Hero 6 and got "Immortals" stuck in my head.
I loved the songs in frozen 2 so much more than 1 because of how much more mature they are. They aren’t as catchy and poppy so at first they don’t seem as memorable, but the more you listen to the soundtrack the more amazing it gets. The lyrics are so powerful and they are so well written. It’s more Broadway than typical Disney but that’s why i love it
I like the use of "all is found" and the mysterious voice as recurring motifs throughout, and The Next Right Thing is an excellent Eleven O Clock song...
PhantomStrider, this is a Christmas present we are more than thankful for (outside of the fact that you can’t see anything wrong with Incredibles 2. Seriously, you’re only portraying it as one of the greatest DIsney movies), but one thing I’d love to point out, is that in the end of the video’s title in the brackets, it could be called “Late 2010s Animated” since 2016-2019 are practically the (chronological) years of the completely recent time of the late 2010s.
You too, Strider. Also my sisters birthday and I are both in December so it’s pretty much a busy month for us and the fact that I’m an Aspie too which I’m glad you’re not afraid to mention from time to time in your vids
I really did like Sonic the Hedgehog's cameo in Ralph Breaks the Internet, especially with Roger Craig Smith revising his role. It would be even cooler if they also gave Dr. Eggman a cameo and brought in Mike Pollock to do his voice.
Nah, he's referring to 3-9-year-olds, as they can't consume the complexities of the lyrics and instrumentals, as well as the messages the songs are trying to convey.
@@patax144 Maybe so but I still thought the damn princesses, the Disney owned properties and all that internet crap is still pandering even if it isn't insultingly bad as The Emoji Movie.
I knew Moana would be on the list, great choice! What can I say except you’re welcome! I also like Incredibles 2, can’t believe it took Frozone fourteen years to find his supersuit
One thing about Ralph Breaks the Internet that puzzled me was about Venellope leaving Sugar Rush. Especially since the first movie made such a big deal about a character just abandoning their game, so much that it ties into the main villain, and she is the most popular character of Sugar Rush and her disappearance would raise quite concern and probably create a copyright lawsuit between the game companies of Sugar Rush and Slaughter Race for having a character in a game they don't have ownership over.
A potential lawsuit for stealing game assets or the developers patching her out because someone modded the game when mods aren't allowed makes me question how this is supposed to fly. And yeah. The whole plot of her deciding to abandon her game after coming across Slaughter Race felt pretty selfish and throws out the fact that going Turbo was bad. But her being bored is ok?
@@RM-cn8pw Yeah, just completely ignore the part where they also bring up how it ties back to, oh idk, not "going Turbo" like the very first movie established. Combine all that with Ralph and Venellope being ooc for the sequel and it's a bad film successor.
I’ve been binging your videos recently. You’re such a wholesome person, oh my gosh I need to hug this man I was watching his top 10 (?) worst gumball episodes video, and when he said “take care of yourself”, etc., I almost started crying.
I loved how Incredibles 2 kept going with the plot of superheroes being illegal instead of just dropping it altogether. It really is a good example of sticking to a plot you've written in the previous installment, and giving more depth to it so it comes off as more than we think.
Don’t know if you celebrate Christmas and if you do I don’t know if you did it yesterday or today, but merry Christmas and thank you for your amazing channel! ☺️💕
Not gonna lie, Cars 3 is one of my favorites. I grew up with the Cars series and I enjoyed seeing a satisfying conclusion to one of my favorite childhood franchises. The movie was fun and thought-provoking, and I like it when a piece of media makes me think. There was nothing necessarily bad about it, it just wasn't that memorable to people who weren't nostalgic for the franchise like I am.
I fricking hate that movie my least favorite Pixar movie The humor is worse than in Cars 2 The characters are annoying as heck And it's just bullying McQueen for being old
I don't know about a Zootopia sequel. Don't get me wrong, Zootopia was awesome. But sometimes, the first film of a series may came off as so awesome that the sequels feel underwhelming for people because they can't live up to the quality of the first film. I also feel this way about the uocoming Into the Spider-Verse sequel.
Macandbloo11 yeah I know exactly what you mean. With a lot of movie series it always feels like the first movie is great and the rest usually underwhelming but still great. Like action movies for example.
@@Macandbloo11 I agree I love Zootopia but a sequel especially with disney (if they find a good story) I'm happy to have a second one but if they don't find a good story it would feel like a waste cause disney is most probably gonna make it for the money and not the story. And spider verse will become the new Sony money maker and I don't think they will put a lot of effort (like Illumination with DM) as they are releasing two of them with different directors i am skeptical for the future of spider verse
6. I liked it though 5. I think the 2nd one is better CARS 2 IS SO UNDERRATED 4. Eh it’s good 3. Yes I like it 2. Comparing both movies is like lifting the earth with my bare hands 1. Not my #1 favorite But it’s still a pretty good movie
I agree with on Wreck-it Ralph 2, I wasn’t a fan of they did with Ralph’s character near the end of the movie, they made him out to be really possessive and I didn’t enjoy that, however, I’ve seen a few people comparing Wreck-it Ralph 2 to The Emoji Movie, and I think that is ridiculously harsh, Wreck-it Ralph 2 definitely wasn’t Disney at its best but it was no near as bad as The Emoji Movie
I personally think that Incredibles 2 is overrated. I'll explain as best I can. I found the movie's beginning exciting and suspenseful, but after that, the story felt lackluster and inconsequential. The villain honestly felt poorly slapped together and didn't make sense to me. Plus, if you ask me, they turned Violet ( my favorite) into a teen cliche. That said, there are parts of this movie I like. It's visually stunning and very well voice acted. So I can totally understand why people like this movie. I just didn't. Thanks for reading this insanely long comment. Edit: Welp, this got a lot more attention than I thought it would.
Your opinion on Incredibles 2 is way better than PhantomStrider’s (hell, I just now heard that he PREFERS it over the original), but I do appreciate his speech on the movie’s message on screens.
It shocks me that Ralph 2 and Frozen 2 are above Coco. I absolutely love Coco, it blows me away everytime I watch it no matter how many times. The story, relationships and animation are beautiful and I love how it treats the culture.
Fun Fact, Brad Bird (Creator of the Incredibles) actually was the executive producer in the Simpsons. Great Video by the way! Keep up the great work! =)
Hi PhantomStrider, Merry Christmas. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and that all is well. You did a fantastic job describing each of these Disney films on their own, and I agree with you with Zootopia being the best on the list. It’s a truly fantastic film that has a powerful message and amazing, unforgettable, and relatable characters like Judy Hopps, and to me it’s a movie everyone should see. It’s beautiful and groundbreaking, and is one of my favorite Disney films as well. I enjoy your videos and hearing your opinions on unique forms of animation, may it be Disney, Dreamworks, or any cartoon in general. Cartoons and animation mean a lot to me, they have ever since I can remember. I’m passionate about animation and enjoy drawing the characters I love as well. I do understand why Cars 3 is on the bottom of this list. It did have some good aspects, though, like you mentioned. However, though I am not a huge Cars fan nowadays, the first film still has a special place in my heart because it helped me get through really tough times. I have Asperger’s Syndrome as well, and Cars was my special interest when it debuted in 2006 - at the time, I liked real cars, and when the film came out I absolutely loved it. Watching the film often provided me great comfort and happiness after it came out on DVD. I was bullied, friendless, and treated badly during the fifth grade, but the movie Cars kept me going and provided comfort for me. I found joy in the characters, humor, heart, and music. I still find the first Cars film rather charming today, though it is one of my least favorite Pixar films. There are just so many better outputs from Pixar, like the Toy Story films, Up, Coco, Inside Out, Wall-E, and The Incredibles. I don’t honestly think the first Cars film deserves the hate it gets; I find it unexceptional but enjoyable nonetheless; though I do wish Pixar wouldn’t have made any more Cars films. Again, wonderful video, Strider. Keep up the fantastic work. I always look forward to watching your videos when they come out. Catherine
Thanks for the message Catherine :) I definitely could understand why you would have more of a connection to the Cars series and I respect that. I hope you have a pleasant Xmas too.
I am so glad Zootopia took the number one spot. It took nearly 20 years for Disney to make something to dethrone The Hunchback of Notre Dame as my favorite animated Disney movie.
"The very down to earth characters" A Man that can lift a train A woman who can stretch from California to Arizona A girl who can literally turn invisible A boy who can run from Canada to Mexico in about 2 hours A baby who has 20plus powers A Man who can shoot ice from his hands That's down to earth?
I really enjoyed this video, it was nice to hear you just pleasantly go on about how much you love these films. Perfect for relaxing while building christmas LEGO!
Ok, I might sound like I am an idiot, but Cars 3 is primarily about the new, younger generation of drivers coming in and some of the history behind the sport of NASCAR, but Cars 3 also shows how the teams are rushing the older drivers out of their rides and putting the new guys in, as seen when all of Lightning’s friends are being replaced by the Next-Gen drivers, and it also goes into how certain people might seem too old for their job, but they aren’t done. Ok, I just needed to get that off my chest.
I Love You So Much Strider. You are always such a Joy to watch & I Love hearing your opinions. The first Wreck-It Ralph movie is the worst modern Disney movie of all time.
I’m new to your channel but I really enjoyed watching this. Personally Zootopia is the number one modern Disney movie I’ve ever seen and I kinda want to see a sequel to see any expansion to the setting and to the characters.
I personally preferred Frozen 2 because of the more complex story and I liked the songs more, but woah your absolutely right about the plot being hard to follow and the songs being hard to remember the lyrics to. I've listened to them so many times and where I can sing most of the first ones in their entirety, I can only sing the chorus of the second ones at the most.
People are saying that Ralph Breaks the Internet is bad because it throws the original movie's rules out the window and Vanelope going Turbo is suddenly okay now. I do agree with that, but there are 2 other reasons why I don't like it. 1. It completely butchers the 2 main characters personalities. Ralph went from a sorta lame uncle type sidekick to Vanelope, into a creepy obnoxiously clingy friend who releases a virus that ruins her new home just because he wanted to spend more time with her. And like Strider said, in the 3rd act, he basically becomes the villain. He even says it out loud in the movie. But don't worry, Vanelope is bad too. Everyone says it. Vanelope goes Turbo with absolutely no consequences whatsoever. But a common misconception is that going Turbo is always bad and will always lead to wrong. That is not entirely true. Although going Turbo was established as the worst thing you can possibly do in that world, Ralph saves Vanelope from a life of isolation and depression and killing the original Turbo once and for all by going Turbo. But in Ralph Breaks the Internet, Vanelope literally does the one bad thing from the first movie that affected her the most because it ruined her game. Even worse, THEY NEVER MENTION TURBO ANYWHERE IN THE MOVIE. Yet in Frozen 2, Hans gets a lot of references despite only being seen for 15 minutes. But Turbo was very important to the plot of the first movie WHAT THE FU- Anyways, Vanelope comes off as selfish because she couldn't care less about the thousands of Sugar Rush residents that became homeless because of her and Ralph. Worse, the movie keeps insisting that even though Ralph is the worse character (which is true), they say that Vanelope is good, even though she really isn't. So the characters are completely ruined in this movie, but how could it get any worse? 2. I really hate what this film represents it represents that Disney is starting to become the next Illumination except without spending hundreds of millions of dollars on the marketing alone. What that means is that Disney doesn't need to make high quality films in order to succeed as a company. That doesn't mean that Disney hasn't make some fantastic films recently, it means that great films aren't necessary. They can pump out more of those god awful remakes of classic movies for nostalgia bait, and pump out more of those mediocre sequels to great movies that don't really capture the essence of the original versions, and still make a profit. This especially shows in the Oh My Disney scene. It shows that Disney is no longer the company responsible for incredible movies that have helped mold the lives of millions and have stood the test of time, they are now the multi billion dollar organization that owns every intellectual property on the face of the planet. I really hate this movie mainly because of what it represents. It represents the sad revelation of what companies like Disney have turned into. Edit: I forgot about this detail, but at one point in the movie, Ralph make stupid amounts of money by making like 50 mostly terrible (I say mostly because I like the Bob Ross one) viral videos in a day. And they never discuss the topic of burnout. Burnout is a pretty serious issue when it comes to content creators, which is why they sometime take breaks for a few weeks and stop making videos for a bit. Yet Ralph just keeps on making videos with no consequences whatsoever. I think they should've made Ralph look tired, or want to stop, or take a break from making videos. But NOPE. This is a PG family friendly kids movie! They won't understand the concept of burnout, so let's say the bad thing is the comments section! See, comment sections in videos are usually filled with MEMERS. People just trying to make dumb ironic jokes. However, thisc is the main emotional scene in the movie. Ralph is acting like a big manbaby here and throughout the whole film. He thinks random strangers insulting him is the worst thing ever. This is like the emotional scene in CARS 2. C A R S 2. Where Mater realizes that everyone thinks he's stupid. Oh movie, people are calling Mater dumb? Oh you're really tugging at my heart strings there, Disney! Now, Ralph Breaks my Sanity is a god awful Disney film with bad messages that may tarnish the reputation of this company for the rest of it's existence.
Although I disagree on most of the opinions you share in these videos, you present them in a loving and respectful way in which even I can enjoy listening to the other side of an argument. Thank you for always expressing yourself in an honest but loving manner. That's a skill I greatly admire in you. Keep up the good work! I look forward to your next video! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Holidays, etc.
Great list! I fully agree with Zootopia being #1! One of my favorite Disney movies in general. And I think Strider should do a Top 10 Nick Shows That Deserve a Revival which makes sense considering the Nick-Netflix deal that happened not too long ago. I could easily see MLAATR, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, El Tigre, Catscratch, etc. being on that list. :)
I personally enjoyed a fair amount of Ralph Breaks the Internet. The first few minutes in "Oh My Disney" with all the Star Wars, MCU, and Disney stuff all in one place was so surreal. All the cringy internet meme references later on are easily made up because of this bit imo. Seeing Vanellope in love with such a gritty hardcore racing game was a joy to watch as well.
I can really understand why you've only put Ralph breaks the internet at the start of this list, but I honestly loved this movie and in some ways, I liked it more than the first movie, because I really liked the relationship between Ralph and Vanellope and the scenes with the Disney princesses was just so funny I thought! it's probably my second favourite of these Disney movies from the modern era, with Zootopia being number 1. that definitely really takes the number 1 spot for me!

@@phantomstrider So you've asked me how I'd order it.. Worst 3: Cars 3 Toy Story 4 Wreck It Ralph 2 Best 3: Incredibles 2 Coco Zootopia So I agree with a lot from your list, even though here and there, something I don't agree with will come. So as in for my 3 worst, just to put it a bit short, I honestly don't think the movies were bad but I just like others more than some. So I personally am okay with Cars 3. I felt that it was a improvment from the second movie of the Cars film. I am okay with the where the third movie was going for. So Toy Story 4, I do like all the Toy Story movies but I didn't enjoy the fourth movie as much. I found Forky pretty annoying and felt that Forky made the movie bad a bit. And seeing Woody say his goodbyes was difficult but I get it. Wreck It Ralph 2 just wasn't as enjoyable as the first movie to me. Ralph pretty much ruined the movie and maybe even literally. (It all started with him making that track for Venellope). The character Ralph seemed to be a lot more out of character and over did it. Ok that's it for the worst, I do not think those are bad movies, I just didn't enjoy them as much as others. And the animations are gorgeous on all of them and really improved. The difference between a classic such as Sleeping Beauty compared to a modern Disney/Pixar movie is huge. Anyways starting with my opinion on the best movies starts off at Incredibles 2. I actually really like the villain and I just like the film as a whole. I liked a lot of things about it such as how it the film started, the little family conflicts is relatable, and how intense the movie gets. Coco is of course, a beautiful movie, and has a great story and the culture it goes towards is pretty interesting. The animation and story definitely stood out to me. I did enjoy the mystery-like parts it has. Zootopia is one of my favorite movies of all times. The message and the intense moments was really good. And I actually really enjoy the song 'Try Everything'. I like how it has a deep message, dark parts, and it was intense and entertaining. Zootopia has lovable characters, and I actually didn't see Dawn Bellwether being the one behind for the bad things. I also really like Zootopia and thought that it was one of the best movies made. So I may have overdone it but I did want to give out reasons. I hope that answers your question.
No matter what, the original Wreck it Ralph will always have a place in my heart.

Merry Christmas Strider.

Macandbloo11 What you’re doing is the textbook definition of nitpicking. Copyrite lawsuits? Really? You are literally grasping at straws
@@RM-cn8pw Yeah, just completely ignore the part where they also bring up how it ties back to, oh idk, not "going Turbo" like the very first movie established. Combine all that with Ralph and Venellope being ooc for the sequel and it's a bad film successor.

The best part of Christmas: Phantomstrider.

Hi PhantomStrider,
Merry Christmas.

So I agree with a lot from your list, even though here and there, something I don't agree with will come.
