That recipe sounds perfecteristic! I just made a lemon cake for my sister's birthday, and it turned out too dense. The flavor was amazing, but it was too heavy. Making it was also a test, because my sister has asked for a lemon cake for her wedding coming this year. So I think your recipe had just saved the day.
I tried this cake for my birthday yesterday and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The cake was so fluffy and moist that my family thought I watered the cake with syrup and didn’t believe me when I said I didn’t . I mixed blueberries with the cake batter to get a lemon/blueberry cake and filled it with lemon curd and blueberry jam and it was phenomenal! . 100% recommend this cake and I’ll absolutely make it again 🤌❤️

Have to say I did have some issues getting the icing to combine well and remain emulsified. I had to take a small amount and incorporate an egg yolk, then gradually work the rest into this base. But ultimately a great result.

I made it, finally! And my friends loved it 🥰 The adjustments I made: - I used lime juice instead of lemon, because I didn't have lemon 😞 thus I didn't add zest because limes are bitter, and I added less juice than what she indicated due to the fear of the cake becoming bitter - I added a bit less sugar because my whipping cream was sweetened, so I didn't want to make it overwhelming - I used fresh cream instead of creamcheese because I had it available in the fridge (although when I added lime juice to it, it curdled up, so I went for plain whipping cream) Despite the changes, the cake was fabulous. A 10/10 🔥

It looks delicious! Lemons are so expensive in N. Z. at the moment, one fruit shop is charging $24.00 a kg. That's a good idea using cornstarch instead of eggs. I didn't like my lemon curd with eggs. You can do the same with tinned crushed pineapple, juice and sugar.

I just tried this recipe. I could cry as it didnt come out well😢 followed measure to the T, not sure what I did wrong, but I find it too oily due to combination of oil and butter, and too sweet as well. But the flavour is just out of this world..I will use much less oil next time. Thanks for the amazing recipes

I made it a couple days ago and my partner and I ate over half of it in the first day… Go ahead and judge me 😂 It took me a while to get all the ingredients weighed and ready, but once that was done it went quickly and it was really fun! This is my favourite cake I’ve made from this channel! The ONLY thing I would change it the sweetness of the icing. I always find it too sweet. It it possible to cut the icing sugar in half without compromising the structure of the icing?

I made my first lemon 🍋 cake today and us delicious 😋 😍 😊 I reduced the sugar to 300g and it turned out super sweet 😋 as well. I will reduce it by 30g again. Thank you thank you for your wonderful cake recipes 😋
I reduced it to 300g as well, and next time will certainly reduce much more. I think I'll reduce to 150g. The icing has enough bursting flavours and sugar❤
I made this cake using orange instead (what I had at the time) and I reduced the sugar to 1 cup (200g) and it was sweet, not overly sweet. I took into consideration the sweetness from the yogurt as well to determine how much to reduce it by. Glad that you posted how yours turned out when you reduced the amount of sugar.
