I must try this.ived tried twice already using other methods here in yt but it all turned out so dense.i think this one is very fluffy because your method is like making a chiffon cake.by separating the egg white from the yolk.the meringue will help to make the cake fluffy and rise.unlike when beating the whole egg at once.i prefer this method

Mine turned out sooo good! Only thing I changed was I put half the amount of castor sugar/icing sugar since I didn’t want it too sweet. Also, I made the icing first so by the time the cake is done baking the icing is ready. Of course, ill let my cake cool a bit before I put the icing or just use the icing as a dip lol

I added the zest before i read your comment and i think it was a great ideal,i also used almond flakes to decorate the cake as well as giving it some bite or crunch to balance out that rich taste and heavy texture.

Just made it it looks super ! icing is in the fridge while cake cools :) Made for the little girl next door its her 5th birthday :) It did take an extra 12 mins but i do understand all ovens are different so alls good and it wasn’t a problem :)

can this be done with limes as well?,. dont have lemons right now. i like how it uses both the whites and the yolkes and not just the white by itself. other cakes usually want whole egg or just the yolk or white part and it leaves you with leftover egg, and i usually just throw it out.
Baking Cherry Thanks. Just made it with lime. I think it needs more lime in the cake itself. Most of the flavour just come from the condescend milk frosting. It seems very mild. But it’s nice. And easy to make. This amount was perfect to put in my square baking tin.

It has a soft, light lemon flavor, nothing too tangy. I wouldn't recommend adding more liquid, because it might change the texture of the cake.
