I like this lady. Her instructions are clear, she has a nice smile and cheerful attitude, and good, easy recipes.
Did you read her bio? She's a Superwoman! See: www.jennycancook.com/about-me/
And then to think I never heard of her until I stumbled across this video.
Now I need to go to the store to get some lemons...
She’s an actress I think! I just can’t remember from what show. Oldie...
The Jenny Jones Show!! I remember her smile and her voice gave it away!!! 😂
Jenny Jones is a 90s icon!!! Most 90s kids knew her from the thumbnail.
Oh my I am old... I though everyone knew JJ🙈. Good recipe
I wish Jenny would still make cooking tutorials, she's so cute , entertaining and makes learning to cook her recipes so much fun.
She’s 76 now. I’m guessing her cooking video days are in her rearview mirror. I hope she’s doing OK.
Time sure flies.
I was thinking the same thing. I still love this channel. I hope she is doing well. Age may not have anything to do with her no longer posting. My grandmother cooked and baked until she was almost 90.
I realise this is an old you tube recipe, but I made it the other day and it's divine. The only thing I did differently was added a few drops of Sicillan lemon oil in the topping with some butter in the icing. It was so yummy. Thankyou for a great simple recipe,I will be making this a lot!😊
Yes, I agree. I would enjoy seeing an update of her. But these recipes are timely. Except some people now use gluten free flour. So I don't know if you can adapt her recipes to gluten free.
@@monicaclark9581 All commercial gluten free flours are a 1 to 1 substitute for flour. No worries there!
I made these today, didn’t have plain yogurt so I used sour cream. They turned out lemony and delicious! Thank you for such a simple recipe!
Thanks for that only thing I didn’t have was yogurt, but I always have sour cream
Good to know. I was wondering about that (what to use if I didn't have plain yogurt). Thanks!
I really enjoy her authentic presentation. She is who she is and she has every right to have a decent size lemon brownie at the end!
"One brownie per person, no cheating."
Tip: If you don't cut it it's considered one brownie. Healthy!
Thanks ! 😆😆😆
OK.....if you say so.
Except I’ll look like an “oink, oink” : )
ChiKeytatiOon ~ EXACTLY my thoughts!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
If its a lemony white cake then why is it called a brownie?
Who else is watching during this lockdown ?
Missed it 7 years ago !
Such a soothing voice and kindly manner . No cheating !!!!
Thank-you so much.
GOD Bless.
there is no "lockdown".
Wow 2013 seems like a life time ago
I have done so much baking in the lock-down and I am loving it!
Tip: when lining pan with foil, first form it around the Outside of the pan, then it will slip in easily
that's how I've been doing it for years...
LOL, I usually think I'm so smart, and every now and again a "Tip" comes my way that makes me question it. Such an easy work, why have I never seen it? Great tip about the knuckles (yep, I may have poked a few holes through foil.) And now I see another one. Thanks Megan, forming it around the outside of the pan is a great tip, too.
Sweet tips ..thanks
Good to know--why didn't I figure this out years ago 😁? Oh well, Thanks to you, I know now !!
That is a great foil tip! IT works perfectly!!!!
That look on your face: “Hey, it’s my video....I do whatever I want...” Lol...Priceless!
And the other one liner: I am having a good hair day, so I thought I make a video. ......hahaha
Right!!! I love that part coz I'm like her where you want the biggest part of the treat😋😂
😋🤣🤣🤣
I just made these for my daughters's birthday they turned out delicious! I used an 8x8 glass dish but it was deeper that Jenny's. My baking time was about 8-10 minutes longer, used a toothpick to check. The glaze was perfect. I grown lemons and this was one of the most delicious lemon bars, brownie that I ever baked. Thank You
I added extra lemon juice and put the zest in the cake mix. Zest is extra fine. I Cut sugar by half cup and used powdered sugar to dust instead of glaze.... thank you for such an easy and yummy recipe!!
My mom made this a few days ago. It was the bomb!! So I'm making it today and I'm adding a few blueberries .
Oh wow! That sounds awesome.
I find so many more of Jenny's recipes that I like than any other recipes on RUclips. They are simple, easy and Jenny's presentations are always interesting. Thank you so much, Jenny!
I love you. You had me at “this recipe is so easy you don’t need this video, but I’m having a good hair day, so lets get started” 😂😂😂
I’ve been waiting all my life for a lemon brownie recipe and you’ve made my dream come true! So easy too.
Delen Potter ~ Me too 😂😂😂😁😜
Probably you should call them lemonies as they aren’t brown! Wish I could eat them but I’m wheat intolerant.
@@jilliran you could make them with an alternative flour like spelt.
I was excited till you mentioned yogurt which I do not have in refrigerator
i love the end ! she says "it's my video I'll do what i want "!
Esther Diez lol right
XD
These are the BEST cooking vids 😊
I love the simple straight forward recipes! I hate it when "TV Chefs" make things over complicated!
Yeah, no endless blah blah. I'm just learning how to can, there's very few videos where someone doesn't expound endlessly on things other than canning. A lot of people like that though.
me too just get on with the recipe an how they tell how to cut a potato or carrot do they think we r stupid very frustrating love Jenny's short an to the point recipes
Whenever I make one of Jenn's cakes it's a success and I love the one bowl cakes since I am a senior who likes easy cleanup and the cakes are small and easy to cut and store in the freezer. Thank you 😊 Jenn
“This recipe is so easy it doesn’t need a video, But I’m having a good hair day so we’re doing it”
That was golden.
🥺
Just finished making these lemon goodies. I have to admit they’re delicious! 🍋
One of the most delicious things that I have ever eaten. I am so glad that I discovered these and made them!
"Hey, it's my video, I'll do want I want!" 🤣 Oh Jenny, you really made me smile and I can't wait to have a go at this recipe. Thanks for sharing x
I got a kick out of that one too!! 💖😂

Having followed the lemon brownies recipe precisely, I put them in the oven and forgot all about them. So instead of 20 minutes they baked for 1 hour 20 minutes. Remarkably perhaps, they are delicious as a sort of biscuit, a bit like a jaffa cake with a very acceptable crust. I've added a timer to my shopping list! Jeff Robinson (Elstree, UK)
TERI in here is a good recipe for one bowl lemon brownies. Looks and sounds great. JANICE hugs

I have to tell you, I lived in Borehamwood for several years and was quite surprised to see someone from Elstree in the comments. I'm in Western Australia now. Have not been back to BW/ Elstree for 20 years! hope all is well in Herts.
@Jeffrey..Yup! Happened to me quite often also.. Needs that timer too
Oh my gosh! Im,gonna do that!😁
So happy we are stuck in our desert home during this time. Lot's of lemons right out the back door. Thank you Jenny, love to watch your happy face and great attitude.
My son found this during the first lockdown here. It's made every week in this kitchen. Thank you for posting it. It's now a family favourite.😊
I made these as a dessert to go with Friday night home cookin' that I do for my grandson and his roommates (so, I know they get at least one good meal every week) and the brownies were a BIG hit!
Friday night home cooking sounds like a great idea. I know the kids look forward to it.
How sweet are you 💗
Thank you for letting us know! Will make for guests and us this weekend too! Can no longer eat chocolate, but adore brownies, so this one is perfection! And soooo easy, right?
Hi there, any suggestions on making a lower sugar version? Looks so good. Thank you. 🍋🍋
@@gailsalvatore7372 Hi Gail, totally agree with you. It is a LOT of sugar for just one cup of flour. Granted there is a lot of lemon too, but still too much. I used only 1/2 cup and added 6 packets of Splenda (can be Stevia too, which is better - but I was out of it in the house.) 6 packets = 1/4 cup. I double the amount of lemon zest and added more juice. I love the yogurt in it - I used 0% fat Fage (only one I had handy), but added a bit more light olive oil. I think it turned out more like a lemon cake than a brownie. I will try again with the 2% yogurt Jenny mentioned, and maybe only one egg. It was way too fluffy. And yes: I did use baking soda, not powder! I even think lemon extract would be better [stronger]. I did not make the lemon glaze, which is delicious - have done before, but again, adds too much sugar, unless we can use stevia too, or something. I will definitely try again with modifications!
OMGoodness, I love all things lemony, so I will definitely make these! Thanks.
There is one brownie piece ... and then there is one brownie piece. Loved it.
I also love anything lemon ... so I'll definitely be making these.
Richard Walker / I live alone. So I’ll have a whole brownie please!

I loved it. And immensely relieved that there are no finer points of cake making... It's come out so well. I am definitely going to try this. And I also love your cheeky sense of humour. 🤩
Friends gave us some home grown lemons. My first two lemon bar recipes were fails. I think this one is the winner! 🍋 🥰
“It’s gonna drip down on the edges .. but thats fine , cause you’re gonna eat the edges too “ lol I love that.
Don’t know why anyone would give her a thumbs down? She’s great.

Haha - the ending was super cute! I also love how you save on the cleanup on a few of the steps with clever tips - a woman after my own heart. 🙂
Jenny needs her own cooking show. She's not arrogant like some TV chefs.
She has a internet cooking show, with more viewers than those arrogant TV chefs : D

This recipe is great. My 84 years old grandmother loved it. She finished it in two days.
Jenny I make these every Thanksgiving and they are much beloved by everyone who eats them. Thanks so much for the recipe
After watching this vid years ago, I jumped on it and did right away till I ended making almost a HUNDRED times. Yesss. No kidding . This vid I owe to Jenny for changing my life from a novice to the lemon bakes girl . Love everything from the colorful presentation to the final pretty picture ! This came up as a suggestion, what a treat! Highly recommend this to lemon lovers! It is outstanding & so easy. Used a springform pan for easy removal. Don’t scrimp on the lemon zest. The Best!!
I love how you teach, you make everything so simple , make your students want to bake or cook your the best

This has just become my favourite lemon brownie recipe!! So easy. Thank you
Zest: I make mine by freezing the peel in a zip lock bag. When enough accumulates, I toss them in the blender and put them back in the freezer until used in my recipe. For orange zest use the tangerines and cuties because they have less white material than navel etc.
great tip! thanks
Such a smart idea. . . freezing the peel. Great tip as I usually just use the peels to freshen the kitchen drains. 😊
Great tip. Do you put the whole peel in the freezer, with the pith, then you blend the whole peel into zest? The pith doesn't make it bitter?
@@itsbuffy0205 The pith just seems to disappear, not noticeable at all. I do the same with all citrus peels. You can add lime to stir fry's with chicken etc.
Jenny, because of you I've started baking. Thank you.....God Bless
I’ve just watched a cooking tutorial and enjoyed it! It’s given me inspiration thanks! xxx
I made these today, OMG so good. I love anything lemon and I will be making these for a friend of mine that loves lemon too
EZ change of easy 🍋 brownie recipe! My dear 94 yr old Aunty loves the tartness of lemon. What a hit! I only had fresh frozen lemon juice & NO lemon to zest. Also had no yogurt or sour cream & used plain applesauce instead. Added a couple extra Tablespoons flour because I added bit more lemon juice. Baked in toaster oven - 25min @ 350. EXCELLENT, TART & OH SO EASY- LEMON BROWNIE RECIPE. Jenny, you made my Aunty happy!! I will bake this again. Didn’t have much time & AMAZED how easy to prepare!! Thank you & pray you’re doing well.
She has such a warm vibe! And the instructions are super easy to follow.
Am I the only one who scrapes out EVERY little smidgen of cake batter from the mixing bowl?
nope
I was at the edge of my seat when she didn't use the small spatula for the zest. And again, when she left batter in the bowl.
Nope cant leave the goodness behind. 😋😁🥰
I thought the same thing 😀. Is it considered OCD? 🤣
Omg me too. It was always so disturbing to me that I couldn't scrape out everything with a spoon. And then I discovered those silicone spatulas that can get out literally all of it. Till now it is still one of my greatest culinary discoveries 😆
I made these for Thanksgiving this year and here it is, Nov. 28 and I am making them again already even though I am decidedly NOT having a good hair day.
Thank you!
I have found your channel and your recipes are fantastic. So easy!!! My friends just love it when I say that I am baking and I don't have to say it twice, before I finish talking they are here ready for the tasting. HUGE thank you.

Super recipe fast and easy, tastes really good also. Jenny is the star of the show today making her cabbage rolls also. Only had 2 small lemons so I used one for the brownie and added 1/2 teaspoon of lemon extract and replaced yogurt with sour cream.

Hi from Kelowna, BC, Canada! Also going to bake this!
The women here (VA) are baking and using the time to catch up on projects: Sewing, reading, taxes, organizing, cleaning out the fridge. I'll reward myself with a lemon brownie!
Hi, from Buckingham, England! I'm retired and generally read and crochet most of the time but have been more adventurous with my cooking since Covid-19 erupted. Fortunately we haven't booked any holidays so no messing about with that. AND as we are retired we don't have to worry about our income as it stays the same. Very lucky! Started making currys at home for the first time in January, so got my spices before the "rush" but having trouble getting flour due to idiots panic buying! I have enough left to make this recipe though will have to get some more lemons as I only have two left. Good wishes to one and all!

Hi, Jenny, I have made this lemon brownie almost exactly the same way as you have shown here and every single soul who has ever eaten them (including myself) has experienced food nirvana...seriously! I never used the foil though, just the regular buttered cake tin with a light dusting of flour method and it has come out easily.
