Yes, Moonstone! Such a great game. The card combat and magic systems are so different from all the other games I've played, the models are really fun, and it works so well at 3 & 4 player. You need to feature this more this year!
Totally agree! I may be biased since I am the guy who translated it into Spanish and it was an absolute bliss, but I absolutely adore that game! The models are amazing to paint and it works amazing as a board game! Even my friends who do not like TT games that much enjoyed quite a bit the games of Moonstone that we got, a truly amazing game!
would 100% love to see you build boxes for relic blade or moonstone. Im always trying to introduce ttg to my dnd group. We usually hit munchkin, MTG, when were waiting on someone or when someone doesnt show we throw in a few other board games like TI mostly, but im always trying to get miniature games like Underworlds or frostgrave
Jay your videos are my favourite. nothing appeals more to me than buying a box for a game I've never seen before, paint up the miniatures and build a custom board. All those ideas about magnetizing positions and watching great classic movies for inspiration are just my idea of fun. I'm super excited for more Malifaux I talked my friends into playing with the caveat that I'll assemble and paint their crews so I'm painting a Captain zipp crew, Lady Justice, Sonnia Criid and my own a Kirai crew. It's such a hype game it just needs a more cohesive community

Just seeing those Dark Eldar boxes has got me wanting to get back to mine! They’re super awesome models, I have around 3000 points fully painted but I feel like some of them could be better, so think I want to try to bring them up to scratch before working on the rest of the stuff I have 😃

I wonder what you are planning to do with it. build it normally, converting it into an 40K unit (not sure what it can be though, its aesthetic is so different to everything, even T'au), or turning it into terrain pieces? or using it as an opportunity to make a diorama?

I also painted my dark eldar pink. like, incredibly luminous hot pink. Definitely check out the golden so flat flourescent pink for that. (I did an undershade of scale75 baal crimson -> highlight with flat white -> all over coat of flou pink -> mix white in for edge highlights)
I would say Dark eldar army with some conversions. Custom decals, maybe some slaves strapped to ships, head swaps and playing with poses. It sounds fun!
Im excited to stretch my hobby legs more into other armies, games, and other model companies this year. All of 2023 was dedicated to my Necron Army that I am proudly sitting on 86 new completed miniatures this year for an almost 2k point army with the Combat Patrol and Killteam included in that. This year I would like to still work on my necrons but maintain a strict 1 week per month criteria unless Im really in the mood that way I can work on other parts of my backlog and utlimately still be motivated to paint my necrons
Might be redundant to ask but have you considered looking at Konflikt 47? Some cool techno futurist WW2 with zombies and werewolves and robots and mech suits

Welcome to 2024! I definitely recommend Relicblade for pulling board gamers to wargaming. It's such an easy game to teach, with tons of fun options. And I love the models! I think I'll have a look at Moonstone too. Looks like a fun art style.
oh the oldschool army is a slick project ! Kitbashing/converting up old minis to fill modern unit slots, making it still also playable in 10th ed would be great to see - I did it with 2.5K of Metal Nercons and had a blast, so can safely say it's a lot of fun as well ! I imagine you (and Nick's 3d printing skills) would create some very cool 'devolved' units - can only imagine how extra-derpy-yet-epic a 2nd ed Gladiator Lancer would be lol

great video! For painting suggestions... well honestly ive never been able to look at Dark Eldar vehicles and NOT see one of Jabba the Hutt's skiffs on Tatooine. I'm sure you've painted plenty enough star wars already but how much of that was themed after a notorious crime lord!?
I’m also primarily a Black Templars player and last year I bought my former roommate’s Death Guard half of the Dark Imperium box that we shared years ago. I bought more DG units to expand it to 2000+ points, but haven’t got around to assembling and painting them yet. Getting my Death Guard on the tabletop ASAP is a priority because they should be a good opposing army to my Black Templars, which my friends can use. I also want to play Death Guard myself to try a new army. I’ve been game-theorying match-ups between BT and DG units, and it seems like my Black Templars can (statistically) wipe out most Death Guard squads. Since BT is a melee army, the only way to counter DG’s -1 toughness Spread the Sickness aura is to overkill DG squads. For example, 20 Crusaders with 15 Chainswords and 4 Power Fists led by a Castellan should wipe out 10 Plague Marines and their leader (assuming all the Crusaders can pile-in to engagement range). I know that DG’s Plagueburst mortars will wreak havoc on my large Crusader squads, auto-hitting 4 because of Blast. If my Crusader squads get whittled down before they get into combat, they won’t be able to wipe out DG squads - and 20-man squads are too large for any vehicle. Fortunately, I recently acquired 2 Land Raider Redeemer/Crusaders, enabling me to transport my Sword Brethren and their leaders into the midfield and get them into combat by Turn 2 (possibly Turn 1). Mortarion is obviously the greatest threat; even my Sword Brethren boosted by Helbrecht + Castellan (w/ Tannhauser’s Bones) will have difficulty dealing with him. I plan on using my Repulsor Executioner with a Heavy Laser Destroyer to deal with Morty’s T12 and 16 Wounds, but there’s only about a 50% chance it will wound, and its D6+4 damage can be minimized by Morty’s 5+ FNP. I’ll need to keep my Repulsor-Exec screened and protected to enable it to shoot Morty each turn. (I’ve considered using a Gladiator Lancer instead, which has the same firepower and a better ability for 60 points less, but it has 4 fewer wounds and lacks transport.) I understand that no plan survives first contact with the enemy, but that’s why I want to get my Death Guard army onto the tabletop so I can practice against them.

Dark eldar, but make sure to wear some thick gloves, also I wonder how cool they would look if the pointy knives on the ship were real knives. lol cant melee that thing if it cuts your models in half.

I recently got into AOS and I have 2 death armies, my bonereapers and spooky ghosts. The skeletons are painted black with with glowing pink and my ghosts are painted like the joker, I am really excited to get these guys done
Well at the end of 2023 I managed to get it so I own about 2.4k of Iron warrior chaos space marines so the start of the year will be painting them up but after that I think I'll probably go back to my Custodians as they are my favourite army I own

Happy New Year and fight the war against the gray. For me that will be:
1. TOW Tomb Kings
2. AOS Flesh Eater Courts
3. wh40k Tyranids
You could use the Xenarid Fluxus from Station Forge and/or the Big Cannon Bug from Puppetswar to count as Tyranid Exocrines.

Hey man, hny.. So I reckon you should finish your death guard and also a dark eldar army and have a mini series of actual battles with small expositions on tactics/objectives/rule nuances between the armies.. But do what you want, will be cool. 😊
Dark eldar, but make sure to wear some thick gloves, also I wonder how cool they would look if the pointy knives on the ship were real knives. lol cant melee that thing if it cuts your models in half.

I recently got into AOS and I have 2 death armies, my bonereapers and spooky ghosts. The skeletons are painted black with with glowing pink and my ghosts are painted like the joker, I am really excited to get these guys done

Well at the end of 2023 I managed to get it so I own about 2.4k of Iron warrior chaos space marines so the start of the year will be painting them up but after that I think I'll probably go back to my Custodians as they are my favourite army I own
