"Hey there fuckface, hey there fuck face...We are the Fall!" Indeed he was The Fall, even when your granny on bongos could not make it to the concert, MES did. Nothing ever stopped MES, except death. And even then, we are blessed with his legacy.
I was there - the 3rd to last gig I think. It was a very difficult gig, Mark only did about 20 minutes on stage and then sang the rest from backstage on the radio mike.
I will just chip in as a sh__Y ... soft-on fan, because my extent was Live At The Witch Trials for most of my life. But every time I get a snip of other things that you fans love, I love it. I saw this band the other day doing Wolf Kidult and just swooned about the tune - these guys were tight AF. They're tight again here - and I love the tunes, as new. Mark E is the last person whose physicals depress or sadden. He's always been a twisted wretch - and here, as ever - the wretch is a punctuator. I f-ing love it. Caterwauling punch-studs.
Around 1905 my great grandfather told my grandmas brothers to get rid of the dog or he would. The next morning, the dog was still there, it's limp body hanging by rope on the back of the scull're (scullery) door. Gimme the lead... One a hundreds of triggering thoughts Mark planted in my memory.
I was so disappointed when I learned that their residency at Brooklyn's venue Baby's All Right was canceled. I did hear Mark was not doing so well, but I did not know he was already in a wheelchair. He died a few months later.
