A flight report on-board the Getty family's private 727 -100 in VVIP configuration. The aircraft was built 1971 and is hence one of the later 727-100s. The flight took us from McClellan AFB (MCC) to Stockton Metropolitan (SCK) for a touch and go, and return to McClellan. The flight took place on Nov 19th, 2018, which was just a few days after the catastrophic fires in California, hence the large tanker base in MCC. A big thank you to the various people who made this flight possible.

I remember my first plane trip as a child. The first image of climbing the ventral staircase feeling the noise of the apu was a staircase to heaven.

Wow - with the pair of -217’s in back and the short body that must have felt like a rocket (especially on climb out). It is said you never forget your first love, and that is very true of my love for the 727.

Originally a delivered to CP AIR as CF-CUR , it was an orange pumpkin in the 1970's, would love to get in contact with the family to see if it will have preservation plans in the future. This is and was a very cool airplane!

Wow never knew they converted a 100 series with the MD80 engines!! Awesome. It’s pretty cool hearing “MD80” noises on a 727.
