  • Flying to McClellan to visit the Aerospace Museum of California. The almost 11000-foot runway did not disappoint and neither did the museum. Located right next to the airport, the museum has a number of great condition exhibits, including a MiG-17 and a MiG 21.

What's amazing about your trip it shows a never ending view of agriculture fields and water in variety of colors. Run off blooms all from ag activity. Desert 🏜

Always look forward to the "Sunday" flying video. Actually, I have also never been to McClellan as it used to be strictly military and you avoided being anywhere near it back in the day. Wow I did not know about the museum...only one I knew about was Santa Rosa, and down at Castle. Nice flight... very pretty.

Thanks Kevin. It’s definitely a nice place to fly into. McClellan Jet Service is a nice FBO and they seem to have plenty of cars. The museum is definitely worth while.

Thanks Kevin. Definitely a cool airport to fly into. No tower there right now, though I understand that they have temp tower operations during the fire season. The museum is really nice!

For sure! Was flying over Gnoss yesterday on the way to Petaluma after a Bay Tour. Looks like the restaurant there is closed for now. Let’s plan for something the week after the 4th of July. Even if it’s just a get together at Concord or Gnoss…

@@mtyukin Sounds good to me. Bummer about the 29 Diner at O69.
How should we get in contact?

I'll add it to my list. Have you been to the Castle (KMER) Museum?

Yes! It’s a great airport and an awesome museum. Plan at least 1/2 day there - incredible outside exhibit. The airport is very nice too - plenty of parking, and no way you’re going long on that runway. Where do you fly out of ?

Nice video! I’ve worked on restoring both of those migs at Aerospace Museum of California in 2010. McClellan also has one of the cheapest flying clubs in Sacramento and possibly all of CA. Check out flying panthers im currently a student pilot there working on getting my PPL license.
