    Mosquito Pass isn't particularly difficult but it is rough, and there is a lot of narrow shelf road. When we got to Leadville I had a bad headache from the bumps and had to sit still for awhile. I've done lots of trails in Colorado and Mosquito Pass was in the worst 1/4 of them for roughness.

  • @off-roadingexplained8417
    @off-roadingexplained8417 2 года назад

    Obstacles like these really start to divide the herd and the Wranglers and gladiators will pull away from the Cherokee Trailhawk and probably the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk on these things. A stock Cherokee Trailhawk is not that remarkable but the 2-in lift makes a tremendous difference because you get another 10° of approach angle and your break over goes to about 30° if you get 32-in tires with the lift. At that point , it's a real contender on rutted out dirt trails and can hang with Wranglers on trails at that point but not really on rocks.
    But anyway I'll take your Gladiator any day over my Cherokee Trailhawk for wheeler lake lol. Give me the Gladiator with 38s all day long. I have seen a guy on Colorado Mall crawlers do Wheeler lake but wheeler lake is pretty much the limit of the Cherokee Trailhawk when it comes to rock crawling .. that is IT ... That's the limit... It's kind of Russian roulette to do anything beyond that lol.
    When I'm TOTALLY flexed out (obstacle under front right and rear left at the same time, max compression and max droop on the other tires ), my fenders are about 40 inches off the ground. When you are totally flexed out .. the bottom of your tires will be where my fenders are :-)... It's a big difference... And THAT is the visual for the difference between the Wrangler / Gladiator and the rest of the Jeep line. Basically... The tires of the Wrangler or Gladiator will be on top of the tires of the rest of the Jeeps when built out.

    Great video as always! Random question, have you ever thought about going to a full camper shell or GFC style setup?

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures  2 года назад

      the overland layer has the public land info in it but it stands out better with the public lands layer. The only other layer I use is the MVUM layer. I did have ATT cell coverage active as well but turned off most of the time.

    • @davidk6668

      @@OzarkOverlandAdventures did you have to download the MVUM layer and then have it active or just have the layer active. I was under the assumption that the Overland layer contained that information. I can clearly see all the off-road routes with only the Overland layer active. Thanks

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures  2 года назад

      @@davidk6668 I make sure to have the MVUM downloaded for offline use and put it on top of the Overland Layer.
