I’m my experience very few people realize what watch you’re wearing unless it’s someone who’s also into watches.
I'm finding it impossible to buy one an AD at the moment?
@@paulbird1808 It’s been like that for a few years and it doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon
My ex never noticed, until the divorce. Then she knew all the reference numbers, values, original vs aftermarket, service dials, et al.

I'm so sorry if that's actually true D.C. but I really laughed out loud at that one!! Thanks for that!!

wrong....poor; should have spent it all on Pepsi.
In reality: women see my Rolex, they take a good look at me and think its fake

At the end of the day nothing beats having your watch on and a put together outfit. Makes me feel like a million bucks. I do it for myself
That's all that should matter~ you feeling like a million bucks makes you more attractive than any watch/accessory in the world.
Same!
This is what it is all about.
Agreed when I was worth less than 1 mil, now it should make me feel like 10 mil😅
My mom loves my Rolex
LOL. Best comment of the lot.
Floesh - When I was in my early mid 20’s and still lived at home my mom thought more than one watch is too many. She’s old school and thinks they are a waste of money I guess. When she was young they had little money and used to always harp on that.
Flo, your mom loves his Rolex as well, lol just kidding with you. My mom only likes my date just
The Timeless Watch Channel in my eyes it Reflects how successful that individual is in life ok let’s say someone got a Rolex price about £29,000 or over not many people have that kind of money to blow cash on a watch I mean the Average guy don’t get me wrong some people buy on Credit card and Struggle to pay off just to be in the club
🤣🤣🤣 I bet she does mate 🤣🤣🤣
When you are 20 you are buying the Rolex for the fantasy, add another 30 years and you just bought the same watch because you like it and don't give a damn if anyone notices it.
So wearing a Rolex won't make up for my lack of personality?
Matthew P 😂😂🤷🏽♂️
A 60k watch will, it definitely will.
@Daytona 6263 Most Americans can't tell you who the US Vice President is.
The watch never makes the man, the man makes the watch. Another great video.
TGI FriJay: Both statements are correct !
I watched a very good video recently where the RUclipsr asked a pile of women to look at a selection of cheap and luxury watches. They were asked to pick the most expensive. Most picked the cheaper ones as the most expensive and their personal favourites over the luxury watches.
I personally buy watches I love with zero thought as to what others will think of my choices. I don’t want a woman who gives me her number because she thinks I’ve got money, those are the women I’d rather avoided esp as I have no money because I spend it on luxury watches 😂😂
This video reminded me of the Quentin Crisp quote: "Women do not dress to attract men but to annoy other women."
So I met a girl at a bar once, she came up to me and asked, "is that an Invicta on your wrist or are you just happy to see me". LOL
Recently in Singapore, staying at one of the best hotels, I got a lot of attention from two Russian women, who were less than half my age. Firstly, I think they had spotted my Rolex, secondly I think they were "working girls"!
This video easily qualifies for the funniest and most sincere video about having a Rolex watch ! With some stereotypes portraid with a great sense of humour and with some myths busted with charm and witt - this video goes straight to the top of the aforementioned list ! Great stuff !!!
The kind of women that will notice a Rolex as the first thing are the gold diggers.
A girl once noticed the fluted bezel on my Datejust because it was 'sparkly'.
as a Miami native who is a watch/car collector, there is a huge difference in how I am treated by people if i’m wearing something recognizable (Rolex) and in a newer car, even if those things are less valuable than others I own. Its funny af to me and it helps filter people out
My sister has a Rolex Daytona. And men definitely notice it 👍
mark Lawrence that’s so cool. She’s in a men’s world for sure.
Well yeah. First off it’s a Daytona, secondly, it must be big on her so it stands out
What does she wear it on her chest, Lol. JK!
Can I have her phone number?
I had one person notice a watch on me that actually said something about it... She was a cashier at a grocery store and she said ”thats a pretty watch" 😆🤘🔥
No 🤣Most women don't even notice the watches we're wearing and even if they do, rarely say something.
Girls don't know the difference between watches or the prices of them.
@@CommandoMaster Yup 🤣 Whether we like to admit it or not the only people who notice our watches are other watch geeks.
David B. True
They notice much more than you think. In fact many of them, many, are looking at your watch before your face.
@@CommandoMaster girls know as much about watches as we do about purses. I can recognize a hermes or LV, but not much apart from that.
One of the best watch videos I’ve seen in a long time. And I have watched a lot of them. Your thoughts are pretty much spot on. Hats off to you man.. 👍🏻
You had me laughing out loud at your intro, us men have a vivid imagination
My wife noticed my watch right off when she met me. But then, while not wearing a big-time rolex expensive watch, I was wearing the true original simple and elegant Movado Museum Watch which was actually featured in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) -- so she noted it right off. The rest, as they say, is history. Now other than MOMA, she doesn't get into watches with me. BUT, since finding your channel, we watch your vids together since you have such beautiful shots of Italy and camera work and cool, friendly narrations. She and I just returned to Colorado, USA from her birthday trip to Italy (Rome, Positano, and Pompeii). This was a follow-up to a previous vacation to Milan, Florence, Venice, and Bolzano. We love it, and you bring us right back -- the watch integration with the cities really bring the cities to life -- these watches are very representative of the feel of those ancient and historic cities -- the likes of which we don't have here in the US. By the way, my very favorite camera scene you use is the "pouring the glass of water at the outdoor café" scene! Also, I checked out your Mrnorth band -- I can't believe I never ran into it before -- if you knew me, you'd know it was right up my alley (though I'm not a very good music aficionado). Best regards.
I love watches , I bought my first Rolex when I was 23 years old and broke, I bought it use . I am 61 and I can say life been good , now I have a pretty nice collection of watches . The man that’s has expensive watches has to have expensive shoes .
When I wear my Daytona I’m as smooth as a worm with a tie on!
When i wear my Submariner I'm as sharp as a razor blade and smooth as a cheesecake

Good to see you having a bit of fun with this one ! Understated, insightful 😂 slightly tongue in cheek. Superb and enjoyable. Thanks. Have a great week.
I bought an Explorer from an AD last year to celebrate 30 years laying tiles on my knees. I bought my wife a Seiko with diamond dial .nobody notices my watch but probably hers lol
These are some of the best videos on life and the passage of time. Timeless, is a fitting name for our interactions with each other our time on this planet and the art on our wrists. You remind me of Anthony Bourdain in his travels and thoughts about cuisine. Exploring for yourself and at the same time bringing us with you. GREAT CHANNEL!
I absolutely agree that any watch, as long as you feel good wearing it, is a great confidence booster, not just with the ladies but with most things that require social interactions. Spot on!
Although it’s not great at catching ladies per se, a nice watch does catch the eye of the fellow watch enthusiasts and creating great watch conversations and new friendships!
On a side note It’d be awesome if you did a state of the collection at some point. Do you have other watches besides Rolex and the Speedy?
Cheers from San Diego!

You have a unique way of heading off where my mind was going as you talked. This was a very very good video and really the best break down of being an experienced Rolex owner. Well done.
So true about women not noticing watches. It’s never happen to me at least. On the other hand I’ve had men a few times at the bar and Casino complement my watch. Usually they are wearing a watch as well. Cheers! Great vid yet again!
My first was the no date sub and after that i wonder why I keep on wasting money, nothing else seems to satisfy as much, keep up the good work
Great video :) i wear my Tudor the most out of all my watches. No one knows what it is. No one ever asks, and i love it more because only my Tudor and I share that bond :)
New favourite channel keep um coming
And your chances of "getting fleeced" goes up 1000% !! 🤣
seranadesongs chances of her dropping a pill in your drink when you turn away.
First day of wearing my first high end shoes, Corthays with beautiful patina, I got several compliments from random girls at shops and the park, which never happens to me. Wearing Rolexes that cost 10-30x the shoes...nothing. Girls care about shoes. It almost made me want to get a gaudy stupid handbag, if that's what works.
I love you’re assessment of watches and their wearers. Very insightful! It may be obvious to some but perhaps not to everyone.🤔😎🤐
Loved watching this today. Agree totally with your views here.
This video, I think, is honest and spot on. Wondering where you are from and how did you wind up doing this? The videos are masterful, and your commentary and delivery are really good.
I came here, because of a positive comment by Adrian at Bark and Jack. I am a new watch guy, and find it interesting as I move through my changes in perspective and behavior too. Wondering also how you became so insightful into the human psyche? Anyway...great channel!
I married the first girl who didn't know what a Rolex was.
Masterclass video, Im getting a Dainese, cheers.
What the woman notices is subjective, if she's materialistic is one matter, if she's not it's another.
Hardly anyone recognises your watch, except the wrong kind of people.Great video.Stay safe.
Always entertaining and spot on. Great show
Busted out laughing! Brilliant and real talk...
Accurate observation to be sure. I’ll point out that an Omega with the He escape valve is noticed by the average Joe or Jane as easily as the cyclops. They don’t always know how expensive these watches are, but they’ve heard of the brands.
No ones checking your watch when your hair looks like Ace Ventura pet detective and your wearing sunglasses indoor.
I was never really interested in wearing a Rolex until I saw your new Explorer on an earlier video. It has the perfect balance and stays just below the radar.
I think they people do notice Rolex watches but they don't actually acknowledge it unless they're a fellow watch afficienado or just genuinely interested
Your best video. Commentary from you is very vivid and places everyone that views, and listens, in a state of question. Not what you like, but who are you...because of the objects in our lives. Great job!
By far, the best analysis abt the topic. 👏
Great Video!!
Great video and totally agree with both the No answer and Yes answer
Had a good laugh watching it. Post more stuff like this! Comments section is on fire haha
Awesome watching that; having some wine and thinking this is like a cool conversation we'd be having in a pub. Good chat, shame you didn't hear me... i pretty much agreed with everything you said tho? Probably lucky you. Decided to pull the trigger on a sub date - just need to find an AD in the UK with one!
My Sea-Dweller 43 has turned me into a veritable (married) 66 year old chick magnet. Hot young babes are all over me like nymphs in heat. Thank you, Rolex.
Exactly 70 here and my GMT Master II Black, draws them in like flies to manure. Never had a women notice my watch until after we'd dated. Most times on the night stand it you know what I mean
Attracting the wrong types. 🤪
Robert Sullivan 😁
Pfuahhhh hahaha
@@webbryan1 all types ....even your good girl wife type does it ;)
In my experience when women talk about my watch it’s mostly based on the aesthetics of it and not the brand itself. That being said, there’s always a reaction to the Rolex brand. The reaction is mostly from word association rather than horological appreciation, unless it’s a woman who’s into watches. Regardless, I’m glad the watch isn’t what gets their attention. P.S: I’m team No-Date all day :)
Great video. Spot on my brother
I’ve had one Rolex noticed by exactly one person in probably six years and he was a watch fanatic.
I keep thinking : dude has the voice of an Irish Radio DJ... great timber. Rolex has such a massive marketing engine, they have honed it to a crazy science.
The watch that has gotten me the most compliments is a seamaster homage watch from Pagani that I received from a relative. They liked the fact that it was shiny and they liked the milanese bracelet. Other than that, none of the ladies that have complimented it ever asked me what brand it is.
No one ever notices and that’s the way I prefer it.
I don't think anyone has ever noticed any of my watches. It doesn't phase me either way! Enjoyed this video immensely
i have heard many complements when my friends was wearing a Rolex, from many women. specially when they are wearing gold Rolex.
I do agree, solid yellow gold Rolex Day-date do get more attention
Watches are just jewelry for men. I buy and wear watches for me-and yes most women and men never notice what I’m wearing. Having a little bling can be a conversation starter or add a little self confidence. If a guy wants to impress a woman having an expensive watch is simply a poor investment!! Enjoy your watches and best regards
Nice Video! I‘m glad I buy my watches just for me. But I am also glad that my wife likes my watches, even the Rolex, more than the other ones, I don‘t think so, but I need to ask her... 🤣
Hilarious video mate. Good stuff.
Lots of people don't have any idea how expensive a luxury watch is where I live. I think a lot think they cost around $500. Many of those who DO know the cost aren't the kind of people I want to hang with anyway. This works to my benefit because I feel safer knowing most are oblivious to the fact that I've got a $6k watch wrapped around my wrist.
I agree. When people see my collection they think they are several hundred bucks or maybe a thousand bucks. When i say 5-6k they simply cant compute that. I almost see them thinking about they could have for that money and im sitting on $30k worth of watches
I’ve only had one person notice the watch I was wearing. Not my Submariner. Not my two-tone Datejust. Not even my Tudor GMT. Only my Steinhart Ocean One Ceramic which I wear when I’m doing something that might damage one of my good watches and it was a young salesman in a cell phone store....who complimented me on my “Rolex”. I did take the time to explain to him that although it was a perfectly good timepiece....it was by no means a Rolex.
You put out the best videos, love the intro music!
this guy is priceless :) Enjoyed this video :)
I've complimented men's watches a couple of times, but they instantly take it to "hey so what are you doing tonight" when I just want to have a chat about watches. So I no longer compliment nice watches, but I do notice them.
If he's even wearing a watch (that's not Apple), it's a plus. If it's automatic, then better. If I recognize the brand and know it to be decent, even better.
What you say about looking the part is very true... if it's a Rolex, and the person doesn't look like they can afford one (or are young), it's easy to assume that it's fake. If I just met someone, I don't know if they're wearing it as a status symbol, so it can be a turnoff, too.
It is true that a lot of women don't care about watches, but there are more of us than men seem to think. I can't speak for the bar scene though--I don't go to those or understand the subculture.
Awesome video, you couldn’t have done this video without years of real life knowledge and experience. It’s something we older watch guys learn over the years, but you articulated it here so well. Hopefully the young guys can learn from this little gem. Very entertaining and well done.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Most girls don’t even know what a Rolex is.
Great vid. Agree with most of it. Watch guys will notice that’s about it. I notice every watch in bars as I check out every guys one. The whole Rolex craze make me wanna jump ship though. Eyeing up a VC overseas blue dial. Just love it but a bit out of my league for the next few months - year. 😢
Your accent and your voice with a Casio vs my accent, my voice and a Rolex.
I think you'll still win.
The only woman that noticed that i had a band new Rolex on my arm was my wife, and now im devorced😂😂
Great conversation is priceless !!
OK good video my man and I think you summarised the situation very well but now I want your thoughts on the story posed by Adrian at Bark&Jack about the general easing of availability of Rolex sports models. I watched another video yesterday by the two English lads one of whom ordered a new Rolex BatGirl and got it after just three weeks. I haven't seen any increase of supply at all and am still waiting for a call on a new Sub but what do you think? How is it there in Italy? perhaps you could ask your best local AD for his opinion and do a short video soon please.
You are right nobody notices or cares unless they are into watches, better to present yourself well, with high standards and polished shoes. Enjoying catching up on your work.
Very insightful indeed. Now I know how to pickup women. I will keep wareing my Junkers JU52 - Iron Anne, that I purchased on a Lufthansa flight duty free. Thankyou
Haha great video gave me a laugh.
Hahahahah! Wonderfully done! Never before has anyone ever looked at the watch world like you! At least I've never seen it!
Great video and great topic! You are slow on your way to becoming a superstar as in the music szene. THX man
Gerhard Schuh I predicted he passes 5K Subs before New Year. 🤞🏼
@@mrp9498 I remember your comment and your forecast! It actually looks like it !!
Yes because i am into watch too..i just appreciate it.
The video every watch collector needs to watch
I am very satisfied with my Omega SMP300. I can wear it in the office and it's a little bit more "under the radar" as a rolex imo. And I really don't care if anyone notice my watch or not. I wear it for myself to feel good for my own.
I feel the same about my submariner
The truth is that men notice the watch that another man is wearing. Women, in general, wouldn’t know a Rolex from a JLC, Patek or Vacheron.
What i can tell, as soon as they know it's a Rolex, their eyes jump hahaha
i met a girl who recognised my seiko alpinist and told me her dad had an orange sumo
no attraction but its nice to see more women interested in watches especailly jdm seiko
Great Video,
I have been
collecting watches for over 30 years. I have been blessed with
P.P.,A.P,V.C.,and Rolexes. My experiences have found that the only watch that I
wear that is noticed by women is a gold Rolex Day date 2 41mm. Most of these ladies
happen to be Oriental.
The only
complement I have received by men are my “ Holy Trinity” watches especially the
P.P 5205R-001.
I agree with
some of you that the watch is only the icing on the cake. It is the total package
that is important.
I think it also depends on the “crowd” you’re with. I’ve dated a few rich girls and they most definitely notice the watch on your wrist. But then again, they also notice your car, shoes, shirt, pants, everything. One girl saw I used fruit of the loom boxers and she laughed. A few days later she gave me some fancy boxers 🤣🤣🤣
Faxx who needs expensive under wear lol we just spent thousands on watches
"'hell I'm a Rock N' Roller"
So I got a brand new Sub last Friday. Later that night sitting at the bar and this woman approaches me and comments about how nice a watch it is. She asks how much it was.. Kinda forward but I told her. Now she’s pissed and I’m sleeping on the couch but totally worth it 😁
Justin Evans Brave man! it’s been over three months for me and I haven’t even had the guts to break it out of the box yet 😩😆
Short version. Women are attracted to confidence and not to posers.
Whenever I go for a date, I always strap my good ol' Seiko 5. That way, no more gimmicks.
" I dont always wear a watch, but when i do , its an ORIS "
My first automatic was an ORIS pilot watch. I got comments, but mostly from guys who were into watches. It helps that there are almost no replicas on ORIS out there!
Spot on!!
I was not looking for a Rolex when I bought mine. In fact I said to a friend "I need a watch, but not a Rolex or anything." With that in mind I specifically looked for something understated and ended up with a Milgauss. Only other watch people, and really Rolex people, would spot it. Like you mentioned in another video about the type of watch people who start noticing watches everywhere. I'm one too. But random people never noticed it and I was happy with that.
I question whether I'd like to where it on a first date with a woman. Quite honestly if she's the type that wants to go out with me because of that , well, Kanye and Jamie Foxx made a song just for her.
I was actually put off a little when I was reading an article recently by women, for women, about what they're looking for in a man. The first sentence was something like "He's good looking, he has a good salary." Holy shit, I want no woman that puts that at the top of her criteria. I can appreciate her wanting a stable guy. A guy who's established and isn't trying to change jobs and move cities all the time. Maybe a guy is a teacher and has been at the same school for 10 years. He doesn't make a fortune, but he's stable. And that's something they should look for and not a high salary.
When on a date, i always wear Omega
More reasons Omega > Rolex. No one will ever look at your Omega and wonder if its real or fake.
More than likely no one will look at your Omega (or your Rolex) to begin with.
True 100%
think it should be
You are right, of course they won’t, because most Omega’s look like children’s watches
