Floesh - When I was in my early mid 20’s and still lived at home my mom thought more than one watch is too many. She’s old school and thinks they are a waste of money I guess. When she was young they had little money and used to always harp on that.

I watched a very good video recently where the RUclipsr asked a pile of women to look at a selection of cheap and luxury watches. They were asked to pick the most expensive. Most picked the cheaper ones as the most expensive and their personal favourites over the luxury watches. I personally buy watches I love with zero thought as to what others will think of my choices. I don’t want a woman who gives me her number because she thinks I’ve got money, those are the women I’d rather avoided esp as I have no money because I spend it on luxury watches 😂😂

The rest, as they say, is history. Now other than MOMA, she doesn't get into watches with me. BUT, since finding your channel, we watch your vids together since you have such beautiful shots of Italy and camera work and cool, friendly narrations. We love it, and you bring us right back -- the watch integration with the cities really bring the cities to life -- these watches are very representative of the feel of those ancient and historic cities -- the likes of which we don't have here in the US. Also, I checked out your Mrnorth band -- I can't believe I never ran into it before -- if you knew me, you'd know it was right up my alley (though I'm not a very good music aficionado). Best regards.

Lots of people don't have any idea how expensive a luxury watch is where I live. I think a lot think they cost around $500. Many of those who DO know the cost aren't the kind of people I want to hang with anyway. This works to my benefit because I feel safer knowing most are oblivious to the fact that I've got a $6k watch wrapped around my wrist.
I agree. When people see my collection they think they are several hundred bucks or maybe a thousand bucks. When i say 5-6k they simply cant compute that. I almost see them thinking about they could have for that money and im sitting on $30k worth of watches
In my experience when women talk about my watch it’s mostly based on the aesthetics of it and not the brand itself. That being said, there’s always a reaction to the Rolex brand. The reaction is mostly from word association rather than horological appreciation, unless it’s a woman who’s into watches. Regardless, I’m glad the watch isn’t what gets their attention. So I got a brand new Sub last Friday. Later that night sitting at the bar and this woman approaches me and comments about how nice a watch it is. She asks how much it was.. Kinda forward but I told her. Now she’s pissed and I’m sleeping on the couch but totally worth it 😁
Good to see you having a bit of fun with this one ! Understated, insightful 😂 slightly tongue in cheek. Superb and enjoyable. Thanks. Have a great week.
This video, I think, is honest and spot on. Wondering where you are from and how did you wind up doing this? The videos are masterful, and your commentary and delivery are really good. I came here, because of a positive comment by Adrian at Bark and Jack. I am a new watch guy, and find it interesting as I move through my changes in perspective and behavior too. Wondering also how you became so insightful into the human psyche? Anyway...great channel!
Spot on. If someone notices your watch, it is probably a guy, not some girl at the bar. And honestly, I don't think I want a girl who is dating me just because I wear an obviously expensive watch, or drive an expensive car. Now, I do think women notice that a man is put together or the opposite; wearing a shirt with sweat stains at the collar, or ill fitting (too big or too small), or especially, shabby looking shoes (btw, shocking how many guys wear horrible shoes. thinking nobody notices). And to the extent that she notices a watch, it is only wear the watch is obviously out of harmony with the rest of the presentation. Maybe extremes, like a really blingy watch or the opposite, a really cheap, plastic digital watch.
I fell in love with watches working on Madison Ave in the 90’s. Think I was the only woman paying attention, for the “right” or “wrong” reasons depending on yer point of view
You have a unique way of heading off where my mind was going as you talked. This was a very very good video and really the best break down of being an experienced Rolex owner. Well done.
I am very satisfied with my Omega SMP300. I can wear it in the office and it's a little bit more "under the radar" as a rolex imo. And I really don't care if anyone notice my watch or not. I wear it for myself to feel good for my own.
I think this depends on the crowd you hang around. I live in a large city and am around wealthy people all the time. They always notice a Rolex, mainly because most of them have them too.
I was not looking for a Rolex when I bought mine. In fact I said to a friend "I need a watch, but not a Rolex or anything." With that in mind I specifically looked for something understated and ended up with a Milgauss. Only other watch people, and really Rolex people, would spot it. Like you mentioned in another video about the type of watch people who start noticing watches everywhere. I'm one too. But random people never noticed it and I was happy with that. I question whether I'd like to where it on a first date with a woman. Quite honestly if she's the type that wants to go out with me because of that , well, Kanye and Jamie Foxx made a song just for her. I was actually put off a little when I was reading an article recently by women, for women, about what they're looking for in a man. The first sentence was something like "He's good looking, he has a good salary." Holy shit, I want no woman that puts that at the top of her criteria. I can appreciate her wanting a stable guy. A guy who's established and isn't trying to change jobs and move cities all the time. Maybe a guy is a teacher and has been at the same school for 10 years. He doesn't make a fortune, but he's stable. And that's something they should look for and not a high salary.
You should in fact be interested in the social value of a nice watch just with respect of those who know what you are wearing on. Thats what is all about “sofistication”.
There is a difference between a man noticing a woman's handbag and a woman noticing a Rolex on a man. Women are generally more interested in status and men are generally more interested in looks and couldn't care less about status of a beautiful woman. Based on this I would say it would be more likely for a woman to notice a Rolex on a man than it would be for a man to notice an expensive handbag carried by a woman, since the Rolex is a signal of high status and some women will be aware of this.
Actually my lady would be upset if I had a Rolex. She knows the marketing game that Rolex plays. It’s left a bad taste in her mind. She does love Omega. When she walks into an Omega boutique, she is treated with unbelievable class and typically timepieces that are available.
I think it also depends on the “crowd” you’re with. I’ve dated a few rich girls and they most definitely notice the watch on your wrist. But then again, they also notice your car, shoes, shirt, pants, everything. One girl saw I used fruit of the loom boxers and she laughed. A few days later she gave me some fancy boxers 🤣🤣🤣
Your best video. Commentary from you is very vivid and places everyone that views, and listens, in a state of question. Not what you like, but who are you...because of the objects in our lives. Great job!
On negative side; Rolex especially the gold color with a few diamonds : attracts some resentment by someone can’t afford it and decide do some nasty shit on you. That’s why you need a Patek to balance it and neutralise.
There is a Greek song about gold diggers, goes something like “for the money you do everything, for the money you love me”. Only money is good enough for those kinds of girls, not the man.
I have been wearing a vintage 5613 Rolex Submariner (no date) for over 20 years. I recall it being really recognized just once in an airport by a fellow who had a more modern Submariner! This might be because its a non-flashy vintage model. There had been one time where a gold digger gal seemed to notice, and so I replied; "Its NOT A Rolex,...-its a FAUX-LEX!" (just to throw her off the money scent)!
I was never really interested in wearing a Rolex until I saw your new Explorer on an earlier video. It has the perfect balance and stays just below the radar.
For sure most women will notice the way a man carries himself.. They look at man's clothing, more important shoes and last jewelry.. It for sure gets you attention, because most men now use an digital phone or an apple watch.. Rare that you see a well put man with a nice automatic watch..
The watch that has gotten me the most compliments is a seamaster homage watch from Pagani that I received from a relative. They liked the fact that it was shiny and they liked the milanese bracelet. Other than that, none of the ladies that have complimented it ever asked me what brand it is.
To be honest, I don't care if a woman or a man looks at my watch. I enjoy using them and talking about them with some good friends who share the same hobby and with that, it is more than enough for me. Thanks Oisin for another great video.
She won't notice your watch. What she will notice is how good you feel about yourself, and if your Rolex makes you feel that, then that's what she'll notice. There is another kind of woman, though, who will notice your Rolex, but only if it's solid gold. I do notice a woman's bag. It can tell you a great deal, particularly when it's stuffed full of accumulated shite.
You are right nobody notices or cares unless they are into watches, better to present yourself well, with high standards and polished shoes. Enjoying catching up on your work.
Great Video, I have been collecting watches for over 30 years. I have been blessed with P.P.,A.P,V.C.,and Rolexes. My experiences have found that the only watch that I wear that is noticed by women is a gold Rolex Day date 2 41mm. Most of these ladies happen to be Oriental. The only complement I have received by men are my “ Holy Trinity” watches especially the P.P 5205R-001. I agree with some of you that the watch is only the icing on the cake. It is the total package that is important.
Honestly if a woman (or man if that's your bag) notices your watch on brand recognition as opposed to aesthetic quality that should be a fairly significant red flag.
i met a girl who recognised my seiko alpinist and told me her dad had an orange sumo no attraction but its nice to see more women interested in watches especailly jdm seiko
The only watch Rolex or not that will draw a girl or woman's attention needs to be in rose or yellow solid gold and or have diamonds. They do not care about steel watches.
Awesome video, you couldn’t have done this video without years of real life knowledge and experience. It’s something we older watch guys learn over the years, but you articulated it here so well. Hopefully the young guys can learn from this little gem. Very entertaining and well done.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It’s true .. I’ve only ever had compliments on my Rolexes from other watch enthusiasts.. my partner knows I own rolexes but cover the name and ask her to pick them from my watch box she wouldn’t have a clue ,she has no interest whatsoever.. , she accepts it’s my interest and that’s it . Likewise I think all her friends are similar . Add to this that so many people are wearing fakes . Fact is that you buy a watch to impress yourself and no one else..
My ex never noticed, until the divorce. Then she knew all the reference numbers, values, original vs aftermarket, service dials, et al.

So I got a brand new Sub last Friday. Later that night sitting at the bar and this woman approaches me and comments about how nice a watch it is. She asks how much it was.. Kinda forward but I told her. Now she’s pissed and I’m sleeping on the couch but totally worth it 😁
Justin Evans Brave man! it’s been over three months for me and I haven’t even had the guts to break it out of the box yet 😩😆
i have heard many complements when my friends was wearing a Rolex, from many women. specially when they are wearing gold Rolex.
I do agree, solid yellow gold Rolex Day-date do get more attention
Good to see you having a bit of fun with this one ! Understated, insightful 😂 slightly tongue in cheek. Superb and enjoyable. Thanks. Have a great week.
Most girls don’t even know what a Rolex is.
And your chances of "getting fleeced" goes up 1000% !! 🤣
seranadesongs chances of her dropping a pill in your drink when you turn away.
No one ever notices and that’s the way I prefer it.
Busted out laughing! Brilliant and real talk...
No ones checking your watch when your hair looks like Ace Ventura pet detective and your wearing sunglasses indoor.
Who gives a shit as long as it makes you happy
I feel the same about my submariner
I think this depends on the crowd you hang around. I live in a large city and am around wealthy people all the time. They always notice a Rolex, mainly because most of them have them too.
Great Video!!
My Omega Seamaster was a great wingman in one instance. My Rolex has yet to help me in a similar fashion.
Faxx who needs expensive under wear lol we just spent thousands on watches
Whenever I go for a date, I always strap my good ol' Seiko 5. That way, no more gimmicks.
By far, the best analysis abt the topic. 👏
The only woman that noticed that i had a band new Rolex on my arm was my wife, and now im devorced😂😂
Your best video. Commentary from you is very vivid and places everyone that views, and listens, in a state of question. Not what you like, but who are you...because of the objects in our lives. Great job!
They way Rolex keeps jacking up their prices, making them less and less affordable, it will continue to be seen as a status symbol.
I married the first girl who didn't know what a Rolex was.
I was never really interested in wearing a Rolex until I saw your new Explorer on an earlier video. It has the perfect balance and stays just below the radar.
Great video and totally agree with both the No answer and Yes answer
For sure most women will notice the way a man carries himself.. They look at man's clothing, more important shoes and last jewelry.. It for sure gets you attention, because most men now use an digital phone or an apple watch.. Rare that you see a well put man with a nice automatic watch..
Yes because i am into watch too..i just appreciate it.
I don't think anyone has ever noticed any of my watches. It doesn't phase me either way! Enjoyed this video immensely
Your accent and your voice with a Casio vs my accent, my voice and a Rolex.
I think you'll still win.
Great Video,
I have been
collecting watches for over 30 years. I have been blessed with
P.P.,A.P,V.C.,and Rolexes. My experiences have found that the only watch that I
wear that is noticed by women is a gold Rolex Day date 2 41mm. Most of these ladies
happen to be Oriental.
The only
complement I have received by men are my “ Holy Trinity” watches especially the
P.P 5205R-001.
I agree with
some of you that the watch is only the icing on the cake. It is the total package
that is important.
1:32 I think it is in the soundtrack of the movie film Casino. Nice video btw. Thank you.
It's not about which watch is on the wrist, it's about whose wrist the watch is on....that matters...
Honestly if a woman (or man if that's your bag) notices your watch on brand recognition as opposed to aesthetic quality that should be a fairly significant red flag.
i met a girl who recognised my seiko alpinist and told me her dad had an orange sumo
no attraction but its nice to see more women interested in watches especailly jdm seiko
The only watch Rolex or not that will draw a girl or woman's attention needs to be in rose or yellow solid gold and or have diamonds. They do not care about steel watches.
N D Good point👍🏼
Awesome video, you couldn’t have done this video without years of real life knowledge and experience. It’s something we older watch guys learn over the years, but you articulated it here so well. Hopefully the young guys can learn from this little gem. Very entertaining and well done.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great conversation is priceless !!
Short version. Women are attracted to confidence and not to posers.
"Other watch enthusiasts".....aka other dudes.
You put out the best videos, love the intro music!
I’ve had one Rolex noticed by exactly one person in probably six years and he was a watch fanatic.
I love you’re assessment of watches and their wearers. Very insightful! It may be obvious to some but perhaps not to everyone.🤔😎🤐
