How do I do this JCW mod on my cooper d?
I’ve got a 2011 Cooper SD with a stage one map 191 bhp and 292 ft lb torque so it’s nippy enough still get 48-56 mpg £30 a year road tax
im thinking of making my sd stage 1, do you feel a big difference?

Would be interesting to compare this to the 120 or 123d
It's the same engine that's in the 118d m sport and 3 series, n47 engine 2l at 141 stock
It would be quicker than a 123D. Probably won’t get off the line as well, but it has the same power but weighs 200kg less.
I get 49mpg out of my mk8 st on a run but not round town

What does he mean doesn't go like a derv?? Derv cars are pretty dam fast now days and 200hp isn't much from such engines fuck theres plenty of 20 year old 1.9pd vags floating about with 200 to 300hp

f56 cooper sd here remapped to 230bhp quick little car with alot of jcw extras and the nice white silver metalic paint with gloss black roof, minis are really nice little cars 😁🚗💨
Auto or manual? How many nm? It does put the power down with almost 500nm?

It's not a little diesel. It's a 2.0 turbodiesel, so basically 200 bhp is a nice figure but I think you could reach a little bit more
Yeah you can get almost 250 out of these with the turbo changed

These r56 mini have a reliability issues so I've heard
Only pre 2010 which have Peugeot engines. Swapped over to BMW 2010-2013 and I'm glad they did! (coming from a 2013 diesel owner)
I always thought the 1.6thp was a bmw unit that Peugeot used for rallying, but yeah I’ve it’s very unreliable too
I’ve got an r56 Cooper D with the later BMW engine - it’s been awesome with just regular oil changes. I believe the petrol N14 and N18 engines are problematic, but not the diesels, good cars 👍
@@beddo657its the opposite. the peugeot engines are more reliable
@@lewwal1957nah the n47 is much better than the Purgeot engine in these. Turbos go in the Purgeot and loads of other little issues. Only real problem with BMW unit is the timing chain which needs changing every 80-100k miles (like most cars) 👍

R56 Cooper sd is 141 bhp stock 225 ft lb torque
r56 has 143ps only, but restyling has 190ps

It's a bmw N47 engine. People stress about the timing chain and there's no need to be. Very few have actually failed

Basically SD with JWC Bodykit, remap and tips. Nothing interesting to me, I would daily it, but it's nothing exciting to me. I don't understand why anyone would buy a Mini with a Diesel. Mini is a city car not highway cruiser.
Why would you get a fast car for the city though? Not many chances to open it up. It's basically a small BMW 3 series

Doesn't have a Peugeot engine. These ones have the BMW N47 Engine in them as it's 2010/2011 onwards. So it's not a pug dressed as a Mini

Good on fuel, cheap road tax, cheaper to insure, reliable and has nice torque, sound yeah do agree but ye.
