They were one of the reasons Metal evolved into speed and thrash metal. They were thought to be done in late 80's and they came out with Painkiller, one of the most metal albums ever created.
You should take a listen to something really early in their career like "Victim of Changes" as well as something from their brand new album (this year) like "The Serpent and the King". Their catalog has SO much variety that you will need to hear quite a few songs to really get a grasp on their "sound".
Check out Blood Red Skies off of their 1988 Ram It Down. He sings low parts, medium parts and really high parts like Pain Killer. It's a totally different song with totally different feeling.
Just one more.. Wales..the Country..next door...but for a line innthe sand..so close, that to an American, they must be the same people...they are! Fiercely proud, incredible people.. exactly the same history as The Black Country, coal and Steel...we are all Black Country people. Some incredible musicians from Wales too .. Tom Jones Shirley Bassey The Manic Street Preachers The Stereophonics Bonnie Tyler Bullet for my valentine Funeral for a friend Catatonia...
Glenn Tipton is the main guitar soloist in Painkiller, a much better guitar player than KK Downing. Painkiller was the title track to their Painkiller album. The entire Painkiller album is amazing!
He's not a better player ffs. Him, KK and Ritchie are all different. If you're an old school JP fan you'll know that KK was the most influential guitarist with a distinct style.
'We are Black Country' Sorry, a native call there ..our area Is the birth of Rock, entirely..I joke not. Black Sabbath. Led Zeppelin. Motorhead. Slade. Traffic. Steve Winwood. Cream. Eric Clapton. Judas Priest. Electric light orchestra. Moody Blues. The Move. Roy Wood. Our area is the absolute beginning of the industrial Revolution. We have the world's first steam power. Jet engine Iron bridge. Trains. Cars. You name, we invented it, and brought it to the world. The Black Country IS the true heart of England. It is soo special..and yet... history seems to be obscured somewhat by certain factions of society. London, as you know it, in America, has an ancient history. This isn't so at all. It's true history is Victorian only. It was built, entirely, from 1840 onwards. This is fact. America is older than London, by far, this is the gospel truth, I kid you not. American history goes back much further than London. London is, what i would call, a folly. Built for vanity...by a dynasty that has slowly unterwoven itself into the fabric of our culture once more. They are Heugenots. Huge no's...as we used to call them in days of old. Our dialect ,IS, the oldest English in existence. It is Shakespeare's tongue. London, was but an empty valley even during Shakespeare's time. These are facts. Research turns up some fascinating facts, which when connected, tell a story of, shall we say, deception, on a certain, extremely wealthy, lever controlling, contingent...not unrelated to Mr Netayahu.
One more...for the good times😂 If you spread out a mere 20 miles from the Black Country..to the wider Midlands area of England..who do you grab? King Alfred..the first king of England...his ancestry is written all over my hometown. Edward Elgar .our finest classical musician..bar none..the Proms, our English celebration of days gone by, was an Elgar showpiece. Abraham Darby .the most famous inventor we have .born a hundred yards from my home. William Shakespeare...nothing more to add to that one..surely. The land of coal and metal. If the world needed it, we gave it. American settlers were Midlands men..your declaration of independence is littered with our stock. India, was built up by our knowledge. It had no railways, no bridges, no sanitation, no agricultural knowledge, to speak of...it was a mess. We, went there, and built up. This is why our language survives everywhere..racial memory cannot be overcome by modern deceptions. And boy are they at play today...

And now LOVEBITES has taken the torch from JP and will carry it into the future once JP retires: ruclips.net/video/jeL6FHQ01V4/видео.html

They are different.
100% True.
Certainly would say he’s a “better guitar player”. A better song and riff writer absolutely. But Ken’s a phenomenal player
All guns blazing is one of my favorite tipton solos

I'm sure someone has already said it, but the pic of the band in the background isn't the line-up that did Painkiller.
