    Bought a 2011 TDV8 4.4 Vogue SE and it is without doubt the best I have ever owned.Being my 9th Rangie and used to the usual issues this has been brilliant so far. Getting 30+ mpg and nearly 40 on a run is, up until now unheard-of for a Range Rover . With the 8 speed gearbox and 4.4 TDV8 engine it is the smoothest and quietist yet.The high road tax for me is worth every penny. I would rather spend on this rather than other luxuries and still get that buzz every time you climb in the drivers seat which is more comfortable than even your favourite arm chair , which probably is not heated or cooled in the summer, and doesn't have all the adjustments. For me the best car in the world.

    Awesome car! Been toying with the idea of getting one at the end of my current lease. How many miles did it have on the clock when you purchased it? Also, how did you know what to look out when buying? I'm scared I pick one with obvious issues that I should have noticed (very new to used cars).

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  8 месяцев назад +2

      I purchased it at 142k miles. There are a few good buyers guides online, but good things to check are rust around the rear arches and if it has a stack of service history. The more the better, as it means the car has been well looked after. Strongest (diesel) engine is the 4.4 TDV8. If you do buy one, be sure to put some money aside every month to cover any potential bills that could crop up!

    I fancied an L322 and have two work colleagues who have them (one a 2010 Vogue SE, the other a 2012 Westminster). For some time one of them said don’t buy one, costa fortune in repairs and maintenance while the other said buy one, best car in the world! Unfortunately the latter just had huge issues with his including a blown turbo and has a £4k bill. Now both of them are in the “whatever you do don’t buy one” camp and both are selling. These are the only two people I know who ever owned one. So I’m getting a salary sacrifice EV instead!

    I'm living in NZ were prices for these are unfortunately higher than in the UK. They go for about 40000 NZD (about 20000 GBP) with about 180000 KM (112000 miles) on the clock. I hope someone can help me out getting an idea if 180000km is considered already high mileage for a 2012 Vogue TDV8 or, if service maintenance has been top notch, its nothing to worry too much about? Thanks for the help!

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  26 дней назад +1

      That kind of mileage generally isn't a problem for the engines in the 2012 TDV8. If service history is immaculate, as long as you keep on top of it, you shouldn't experience too many issues. It will need maintenance, though, so don't expect it to never break!

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  Год назад

      You won't find a TDV8 that meets the Euro6 emissions standard. None of the diesels of the L322 generation meet Euro6. Some of the petrol models will be Euro4 compliant, and can therefore be driven in the ULEZ Zone without paying the additional charge. (Congestion charges would still apply.) My advice is either get a much newer, Euro6-compliant diesel, or, for city driving, an L322-onwards petrol.

  • @calb2378
    @calb2378 Год назад

    Just swapped our E70 X5 for an L322 (2011 5.0 S/C) as there is nothing in the sub 20k price bracket which feels remotely as "special" whilst offering enough space for two dogs and a load of kids stuff. The 5.0 motor is really refined (and ridiculously powerful), and with the 20p premium between petrol and diesel at the moment, not a huge amount more to run than the TDV8, plus it's ULEZ compliant. The previous owner has spent 20k on ours in the last 2 years, and I've still had to replace things like the front air spring and rear adaptive shocks so I can see where they get their reputation, though I do most work myself which saves a lot of cost. Best change I've made so far was to swap the 255/50R20s for some 255/55s (Pirelli scorpion zero all season with PNCS) - they made the ride even quieter and the profile suits the look of the car a little better.

      In my head it does still need justifying! 😂 Unfortunately, my dress sense will get no explanation, and no, the seats don't fold completely flat as the bases don't drop, so the backrest sits higher up than the rest of the boot floor.

    Good video but a suggestion for next time…. Please wash it prior to filming…. It’s absolutely filthy mate. I get you live rural but surely a pressure wash is close enough prior to making review vlog.

      Thanks for watching and actually, it isn’t. I live a good 25 minutes from the nearest town and it’s mostly single track lanes the whole way, so by the time I’ve been to wash it and driven back, it’ll be filthy again.

      @@neilwhite8131 I heard he bought it on Cars & Bids, the best online auction marketplace to buy and sell modern enthusiast cars - and that means pretty much anything that’s cool from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, or 2020s. To us, “cool” ranges from the obvious (a Ferrari F355 or a Lamborghini Gallardo) to the esoteric (a pristine Dodge Dakota Convertible or a Mercury Capri XR2) to the traditional fun cars that enthusiasts love (a Mazda MX-5 Miata or a Porsche 911). Basically everything that’s exciting, fun, interesting, or quirky is welcome here - as long as it comes from the modern era.
      Although there are many places to buy and sell a special car, Cars & Bids offers significant advantages over other websites. Here are just a few of our benefits:
      We’re focused on modern enthusiast cars: the 1980s to the 2020s. That means anyone interested in the next era of exciting cars will come here first to buy and sell.
      Our fees are low. Sellers list for free, and the buyer's fee is just 4.5%, with a minimum of $225 and a maximum of $4,500 - far below other auction houses and enthusiast car auction websites.
      We believe that every vehicle should come with a vehicle history report - so we provide one, for free, instead of asking sellers to pay for their own.
      Doug DeMuro will bring extra eyes - and extra buyers - to your cars, periodically reviewing cars offered on Cars & Bids. If your car is chosen, you’ll get far more eyes on your vehicle than any other auction platform on earth.
      While other car auctions take weeks or even months to get your car listed and available to buyers, we’ll get your car listed quickly - and we’ll even take your input on scheduling your car’s auction.
      Cars & Bids makes it easy to submit your car for sale. We value your time by asking for only a few crucial details before letting you know whether or not we’re accepting your vehicle. That means you don’t have to waste your time providing initial information only to have your car rejected.
      Cars & Bids is the most user-friendly online automotive marketplace, with easy sorting and searching - and simplified auctions that tell you exactly what you need to know about each vehicle.
      We’re always here to help - including after the auction ends. We’ve built a step-by-step checklist to ensure a smooth sale - and we’re just a chat away if you have any questions.
