Another great video Ron! A good tip for WG that I use to ensure it’s mixed really well is mix in a 5 gallon bucket. Add 1/2 your tank volume with water in the 5 gallon bucket. Next add whatever product or products then mix with a drill and a paint mixer. This gives you really good agitation that would mimic a larger sprayer that these products usually get mixed in! Great advice about following the label by the way!!
Once again its GO TIME! Soil samples completed and ready to go! 5 day just hit 49 so Im going out there Today doing the spray pre em. Green lush Goals my friend!
EXCELLENT presentation Ron. To SHAKE… I’d rather stir… I use a long metal paint stirrer attached to drill, turning moderate speed to mix IN THE TANK. Works great. Also the Yard Mastery sprayer (saw on the channel coupla years ago) is really very effective. Best wishes Don@Biscuit Hill Farm
For those who don't yet have a sprayer. I highly recommend a backpack sprayer that has an agitation pump inside of it. Not shaking/mixing needed and keeps product evenly mixed while you are applying it. Well worth the $$$. Especially if you have a larger lawn over say 4000sq ft
I mix it in a bucket, then pour it in the sprayer, and shake the sprayer. My sprayer has an agitator inside it that works as I pump the back pack sprayer. Yep, for Alabama, it's that time again!
Perfect timing, I'm going to spray here tonight before the live! But now I'm conflicted, I am mixing the Prodiamine with Certainty and Celsius... should I still use the flood jet tip? Also, Should I wait to water in the preemergent so the certainty & Celsius can dry on the weeds?
I would still use the flood jet tip even if you're mixing Celsius and Certainty with pre-emergent Jimmy. Wait for a couple days before watering the pre-emergent in. That will give the post-emergent herbicides enough time to be absorbed by the weed(s) you're targeting.
Enjoying these new videos Ron. If I over seeded in the fall do you think I should hold off on the preemergent in those areas? Just didn’t want to lose the new growth or any seeds still to germinate. Happy Friday
Thank you sir! Also, if you were going to add a certainty and Celsius to your pre-emergent application, what would you add to your 4 gallon sprayer of each?
@@michaelb2279 I'm asking specifically given this is being done along with a pre-emergent application if the rate he uses would be different than a typical, let's say, summer time application (i.e. low rate / mid rate / high rate), but thanks for the information.
I wanted to spray P/E tmrw, Sunday but we have rain scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday. Would it be better to wait till next weekend or am I good to go. Thanks Ron.
So in south Florida I do not think the soil temp is ever lower than the 50s for any duration ( a couple days per winter go lower I would guess). So when is best in that case?
In Southern California got my Barricade 4fl for my TTTF but I've seen people mentioning to hold off as I over seeded in November? Literally 50/50 on applying it as I had a bad spurge problem at the end of the year and want to get avoid that but not trying to kill off what I over seeded or messing with the roots badly. Any guidance is appreciated!! 🙏🏽
3.2oz is 90 grams(for a 4 gal tank)!!! The personal note I wrote on my bottle is 5.2grams per 1k sqft aka 21 grams for a 4gal tank. Something is widely off. Im applying to Bermuda also. Any suggestions? Our numbers are vastly different.
Check the label for whatever product you’re using. The application rate range for the prodiamine I’m using in the video is .36 oz per 1000 to .83 oz per 1000. I apply once at the higher rate which works out to .80 x 4 or 3.2 oz for 4000 square feet.

It's a classic LG! 😎
Everyone is getting ready for the spring already. I'm excited!!

That’s a great point! Mixing properly is key.
I haven't seen your videos in a while. Im glad it popped up! Got everything you suggested!
Glad to be back! More to come.
Got myself a backback sprayer this offseason. Excited to use it this spring!
Nice. It's a great tool! Check out this video for tips on how to get the most out of it: ruclips.net/video/WBlYSoV0EBs/видео.html
Great informative and educational video for lawn enthusiasts!!❤️👍🏾

Appreciate the feedback! The yard mastery sprayer is the one featured in this video.

Great recommendation!
Starting to scalp soon here in TX, excited to get the season started
Sounds like a plan Tim!
Ron has the only stuff that works with Poa Annua. If you don't want to shake, you can use a paint mixer on a drill.
I’ve done videos in the past using a paint mixer to agitate everything. This time around, decided to show a simpler way.
Thanks 2 u im Weed Free so far

Blows my mind how we are already at this point of pre-em. Seems like the off season just started

If your main goal is to have the new grass seed do as well as possible, I would avoid pre-emergent.
Great video! Can you link that scale?
Here you go: Precision Scale: amzn.to/39fNxTG This is the newer version of what I have. Mine is old.

You're good to go. Get it out and wait for the rain next week.
Heck yeah! 🔥
Right! :-)

I'd apply pre-emergent now in your case.
Can I seed after??
No you can't.
Would I still you a flood jet tip if I am applying prodiamine with the Celsius and certainty combination you recommended?
Yes. Still use the floodjet tip. Just wait a few days after spraying before you run irrigation to water the prodiamine in.
@ thanks a lot

If you overseeded in November you'll probably want to avoid pre-emergent unless you're willing to tolerate potential damage to newly seeded grass.

@@RonHenry roger that. thanks for the response. ill double check my label.
Dang Tenacity is $$$$ bank….
Not really. Compared to most post-emergent herbicides, it's reasonably priced.
why don't you premix it and then put it in the sprayer?
I've shown doing it that way in the past. The goal of this video was to show a simpler way that required less tools / equipment.
@@RonHenry understood. Thanks for the reply.
I usually just kill my grass in spots 🤷🏼♂️🙏🇨🇦
