You can totally tell he misses the Boingo days to a pretty big extent. He's never this animated anymore. He needed this.
I don't know.. I saw him preform Nightmare with the Elfman/Burton Orchestra show, and the movie in concert and he was having a fucking blast at both of those shows too

I used to get a kick out of watching the credits at the movies... soundtrack, Danny Elfman.
His body of work is virtually unprecedented in its scope and quality.
Loved the Oingo Boingo days, loved Danny’s Composition, and movies scores but it’s amazing how important Steve Bartek was to everything he has done, and I believe the man needs much more recognition!!!!

@@williamhopkins4724 I don’t think it’s plastic surgery, his face is wrinkled, he even still has all his real teeth with no bleaching or veneers. Don’t think plastic surgery can give you muscles either. Not sure about his hair though. He was balding in his early forties but that’s when he was beginning to get rich and famous and he seems to have reversed it since.

He has it and MORE...
His voice naturally got lower, like most men's voices do, so, to prevent voice loss they decided to change the key. That doesn't mean he can't sing as well as before, it's just harder

I would love it if he re-released this song in an album soon, but as this version. This is a jam. The original is my favorite song ever & this is just as amazing. This is more muted but still just as catchy & fun! Wow! Danny Elfman is crazy talented!

There are so many bands that I never got to see, and won't get to see. Oingo Boingo is one of them, and the Ramones is another. Anyone out there with the opportunity to see a band that you love, live, DO IT! Don't assume that you will be able to catch them later.
I was at the original US Festival and saw Gang of Four, The Ramones, Oingo Boingo, The B-52’s, Talking Heads and The Police on the first day…that was a concert!

I saw Oingo Boingo’s dead mans parties in Irvine. Go see the band Dead Man’s Party! It’s like seeing them again. You wont be disappointed.
I went to see him because I know that if he took the COVID vaccine then he’s not going to be with us for much longer. Although the lyrics of his song “Native Intelligence”, plus the strange lack of vaxxine selfies on his Instagram (where he posts everything from brain scans and dental X days to pictures of his bare feet and tattoed torso) lead me to suspect he’s a closet refuser.

This was fun, but it's not the same as it was in the 80s. Watch some live performances from the 80s and this is very tame. I'm guessing it's due to his hearing loss. But if you heard oingo boingo, you'd get why. Still amazing and am grateful Danny still does this

They didn't play it because this was a bonus for the Nightmare Before Christmas live. Oingo Boingo former band members were playing in Bakersfield the same night as this performance. Boy, but wouldn't that have been great to have them all together again. I vote reunion tour!!!!!!

Bartek is such a cool guitarist. His work on Jerry Casale's new song is great.
I got to meet him one time when he was playing with Bear McCreary when they were doing the "Battlestar Galactica" live shows. He was so happy when I mentioned how much I loved Oingo Boingo. This was well before Danny Elfman started doing these "Nightmare" shows. Anyway, Bartek is a really cool dude and I will never forget the day I got to meet him!

Wow, great to see Oingo Boingo playing again, if only for one night. I remember they used to play every Halloween. I saw them one of those Halloweens at Irvine Meadows, way back in the day. They were superb, as always.

Danny is a talented god... however as he himself has said he can't sing the Oingo notes anymore...hence him having the audience sing the chorus with him...his voice is in a sad state now and it breaks my heart. But he is STILL one of the greats and still gives it 200%

As a fan since 1983, on the first occasion possible I'll go to see Danny perform out of respect and gratitude for the good times - but for the groove I'll buy a Oingo Boingo Former Members ticket - Danny gave them his blessing and Bartek plays there too!
i wouldn't say its in a SAD state... its normal for voices to change as you age! his voice is much better suited (and exemplified incredibly well) by his new album Big Mess. He even did a rework of Insects, I'm sure you know! He also uploaded a recording of Running on a Treadmill during quarantine that I enjoyed a lot.
@@johnnyworsham4521 ? He is singing high B flats in this, that's a note that some singers struggle with. This performance is in C minor instead of Eb minor, meaning it's 3 semi tones lower.

@@nuclearcatbaby1131 I'm here to defend Tim for being downvoted because I, too, believe that Danny has had some work done with his face other than "he's old now, dude, this is what old people look like!". I've been a fan of Danny's work for years and I got to see his last Halloween "Nightmare" the year before lockdown, and he looked like the older Danny Elfman that he has looked like for quite a while. I'm not sure what he has done, whether it be botox or something else, but he definitely does not look like himself at all here. He has an almost uncanny valley look going on. Having said all of this, however, I'm not too worried about it. He can do whatever he wants to himself!

Yes ! It was so frustrating ! We ended up parking in someone backyard who was charging for parking. It saved our butts and we made it just in time when the performance started.
At least you didn’t have to wait at a Greyhound terminal until ten in the morning like I did.
We never made it. Traffic was unbelievably horrible! Took over 2 hours to get to LA from Santa Clarita and we were stuck in gridlock traffic wherever we went and the show had already started so we gave up because it would have been mostly over by the time we got there. Such a horrible venue. Hope it returns to Hollywood Bowl.
