He's always struck me as kind of a throwback to celebrity big band leaders who were first rate instrumentalists, solid conductors, good composers, and charismatic front men and singers who could probably dance a bit also. He seems to really admire Cab Callaway, and it shows. A rare type nowadays.
Danny Elfman/Oingo Boingo....so much talent and brings back great memories of the 80's. I have seen them many times in concert. I never get sick of their music. ❤❤
Lucky person you are. Would have loved to see them from 81-85. I doubt they came anywhere near me and I was too young 11-15. I didn't know of them other than the one movie song Weird Science. Love them so much now.
Whoa! One of LA's finest. Like, so much going on here 🤯😎 I'll always associate it with the movie That was then, this is now- where i first heard this track
Danny said that he was already 'old' when he put Oingo Boingo together-in his late 20's. Influences like Duke Ellington, 20's and 30's big band, the Beatles, the Clash, and classical music. It reflects in his music that is heaven for audiophiles.
The first time I heard this band, Robert Downey Jr. was fvcking up their live sound and later christened the "poster boy for birth control" by Rodney Dangerfield. Pretty easy to hear how Elfman made the jump to scoring film and television.
It's a very difficult song to perform, sing, play altogether. There's no auto-tune; he's singing just like album and dozens of instruments are playing at the same time. Ask this kind of stuff nowadays, and you won't get it.
This song was freakin awesome, I cannot stop listen to it!! 😅😅😅😅 Greetings from Brazil!!
Greetings from Brazil....🎉🎉🎉
Peace and love from Florida 🏴☠️
Holy shit, Danny. How are you so damn talented?

omg this performance is mesmerizing
Danny Elfman, you were and are the architect of so much of the best of the 80s. Just own it bro.
Such an odd, haunted, alienated, relatable song. And damn, this band had it together. Tough act to follow, I'd imagine.
I have a crush on Danny.
thanks for letting us know!
Every Oingo Boingo fan did at one point or another
Probably cause he's so full of creative spirit! (And also his maniac smirks)
Did u let him know, too? 😉
Danny was very handsome when he was young. Sadly, he has not aged gracefully.

Man, seeing this the other day at the Hollywood Bowl and watching this video, wish I could have heard this version in person…
This band is hypnotic. I've seen them numerous times. Always at the top of there game. Sooo tight.
Damn Danny was so good. The boys were too.

I saw them in concert in the 80s before Danny was abducted and taken to planet Z and an alien replacement wrote scores to movies. ET RELEASE DANNY!!!
He moved beyond this.
