200 - 300 concerts in my lifetime. Oingo Boingo wasnt one of them. I wish it was and I wish it was in the 80's when my new 1 day girlfriend said, " Did you ever hear Oingo Boingo?". I' laughed and said Oingo WHAT?? Hell no, I listen to Zep, Skynyrd , Crue, Metallica. So went to Strawberry's bought a few Oingo Boingo cassettes and plugged one in. First song I EVER heard was Just Another Day, I thought this ain't too bad. Then next came Dead Man's Party. That's it, I was Oingo Boingoed for life. At that time started buying all their albums Cassettes. No CDs at that point in time. But, listening to OB with friends they were like what the f is this?? I'd force them to listen. Haha. It grew on a few of them too!! Never got to see them back then because I just got into their music and they didn't play much in upstate New York. Now I'd love to see them. I heard they got a new singer? Only performing around Halloween in California. I'd love to have seen OB in the 80s. Now I'd still like to see them if Danny sang. He does change the key of the songs live to make it easier to sing. I CAN hear the difference. Would I like to see Oingo Boingo with the new singer?? I don't know but to me Danny and Steve Bartek are the most talented in the band. Danny being the GOAT. I don't like ANY other punk , ska. Type music. I got asked to play trumpet for a band that plays in Oingo Boingo style from upstate New York, turned them down to play lead guitar with another band. The band that asked me to play trumpet was a Ska band called Come head Buddha. You like Oingo Boingo, you'll probably like Come head Buddha, I think their music is available on RUclips

It's a very difficult song to perform, sing, play altogether. There's no auto-tune; he's singing just like album and dozens of instruments are playing at the same time. Ask this kind of stuff nowadays, and you won't get it.

The first time I heard this band, Robert Downey Jr. was fvcking up their live sound and later christened the "poster boy for birth control" by Rodney Dangerfield. Pretty easy to hear how Elfman made the jump to scoring film and television.

Danny said that he was already 'old' when he put Oingo Boingo together-in his late 20's. Influences like Duke Ellington, 20's and 30's big band, the Beatles, the Clash, and classical music. It reflects in his music that is heaven for audiophiles.

BDO is such a talented bassist, guitarist, vocalist & songwriter! & will be sadly missed in Allman Betts Band by us fans. I for one would love to see BDO release a solo album of his own originals! What a great voice he should definitely be the leader of his own band for a change. Perhaps he should consider it. I'm sure it's fun now touring with this all star band doing ABB & GD songs with experienced musicians of these songs. What a great bunch of musicians!
