The Gold Wing is actually better on the twisty roads because its engine is lower down and the tank is below the seat. It transitions better from side to side.
I have a 2023.5 CVO Street Glide and I love it. I traded in a 2020 Street Glide. Harley has been trying to cut back the weight so I think adding an electric motor would be waste. Just purchase a taller windshield and problem solved and very little extra weight. I'm 5"10 and the Khock Works 8 inch works for me. I also picked up a clear 10 inch on Amazon and can use the taller one if I am going on a very long trip. I also really like the 121 VVT, I get better gas mileage (50 miles per gallon) , more power and the power band is fantastic. I am happy with the handle bars and I like that I can touch the screen with out having to reach very far. I also get better weather protection with the fairing being close. I also like that when driving at night and I turn the handle bars I can see where I am going. I also love the drawer I put my phone, keys, in it. The new screen is awesome. I love my new street glide. Great video I enjoy watching your programs.
Great Review Mate.... I currently have a 23 Breakout and have recently done a few 2-3 day rides away, Now tossing upgrading to a road king or street glide......
I just added the new Klock Werks 10" Street Glide windshield. It moves the air to above my forehead. I'm 6'3. The Klock Werks 8" one put the air at eye level. I rode 350 miles on the stock seat one day this week, using a sheepskin pad and barely inflated air pad. Highway pegs let me stretch out; I couldn't do that on a Goldwing. I bought a cheap TCMT King Tour Pack trunk from Amazon.
Very efficient review. Well done sir. I have the M8 117 in my Low Rider. Agree, very good engine. When it's time to eat miles with comfort, I'll take the R1250RT all day long.
How is the RT for handlebar vibrations? I have a GSA , thinking of going to the RT. My GSA makes my hands numb. Is the RT better with different handlebars? I also have an ultra, vibration is about zero on it, but thinking of going to 1 bike.
Best bagger has to be the Valkyrie Interstate - late 90s Honda- and it can be had for $ 6-7k USD. Has all the essentials and nothing you don’t need, handles amazing and sounds incredible with the cobra 6 into 6 pipes. Harleys are great but the Valkyrie interstate is absolutely unique. And more exciting than a Goldwing.
The rear suspension probably felt bad because the factory/dealer have set zero preload. Don’t know why they don’t add some. Everyone complains until they get the preload set.
Test drove both the 2024 Road and Street Glide having gone to the dealer to buy the Street Glide. Road back to back and took the Road Glide home. Out of the box is has better wind management than the Street Glide and swapping to the 10" windshield ended any wind issues, can flip up the visor at 80+ without issue. I do prefer the Street Glide bar positions and have lowered the Road Glide bars considerably but not that far. Only addition I had to have was a back rest. As compared to the competition, I have had six different BMW RTs which also explains why the fixed fairing of the Road Glide was no inhibition, an adjustable windscreen would be idea and similar to how BMW does it and not Indian. Remote locking bags should have been standard along with the heated grips. Still it just comes down to the fact they look and sound good and are a pleasure to ride. Polaris really needs update both the Chieftain and Challenger but I suspect if they do we already know what they will look like
@@DifferentSpokesTV Thank you so much! And thank you for making solid unbiased reviews. I never gave Harley a 2nd look but after watching this video - may be one day, will at least test ride Street Glide
Why HD hasn't got onboard with the adjustable windshield.. is beyond acceptable. Its the biggest downfall in my opinion. The suspension is also lacking. If HD would work those two things out.. it would be the bike of choice.
Nope. I like to the old model better. Very proud of my 2023 Anniversary Street Glide. Agreed with the stock pipes. They really should be better exhausts on these bikes at the price point.
Man, ive had 3 new street Glides with a combined 60-70k miles, great bike but its not a touring bike, mainly wind protection sucked on it and once u start messing with that taller screen lowers etc becomes bigger Hesvir and cumsier, if ur gonna just use to for around town its kinda heavy but that and say 1-2 rides its perfect, my excuse was that the golwing was longer heavier but now being lighter!! Than this woth better wind protection power well of Course reliability for long runs more Than likely its gonna be my next bike.
When I start thinking about bikes that cost a certain amount or weighing over 800lbs I kinda want a seat that I can take one person w/ me? Cost & too small a seat are my only complaints ~ ship this one to me after you're done = Send it "OverNight"
I looked good and hard because the prices are pretty good out the door. But having to deal with all the Harley morons…I feel for Harley they are making nice bikes, but the Harley crowd is just awful…I cringe when one walks over to talk to me. I bought a used 2016 Indian Chieftain for $16K with 22K KM’s on it instead. It sits along side my 2017 Triumph Trophy SE, 2022 T120 Gold line and an Aprilia naked. I find I have to be in the mood for my Bagger…mostly it just gets on my nerves being hot/loud/heavy/terrible handling and just plain ole obnoxious to ride 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ but it does look good 🙄🙄🙄
You Sir are the definition of a TOOL…crap on a whole community and never even make an attempt to understand that we are all riders and a few bad apples don’t make or damn the entire collective of riders. Of which a heavy percentage remains those same folks that protected your individual right to be a Tool…sleep well pussy
I love the new look...but for me the throttle is to snappy and as an android user that screen is useless I went to the dealer early in summer to trade mt 2012 street glide in but turns out I like mine better....that 117 though mmmmmmm
I have a 24 SG. For the price of these bikes, H-D dropped the ball in some areas. (1) Nearly everyone that bought the bike had to go buy a new windshield (added expense). (2) The stereo sound is barely adequate at all, poor sound quality, poor volume capability. (3) The stock seat isn't comfortable at all for longer rides (40-50 miles). (4) Bike doesn't have an adjustable windshield. (5) Indian offers a key fob operated locking saddlebags. (6) Stock exhaust is terrible, which I replaced. I know they have to keep them quiet due to Federal Regulations (another expense). (7) The stock handgrips are extremely hard and uncomfortable (plan to replace). (8) The audio system will change sources when you hit a bump. (9) The handle bar mounted volume control is on the throttle side, making it difficult to operate... Some will ask, why am I complaining, well some things you don't realize until after you've made the purchase and had the seat time. The other point is the most glaring one... This bike is expensive, so then it becomes an issue of value. Do you get what you paid for? I'm really not sure. I would've bought an Indian if they had more dealerships and were closer.
Out the door, feight, tax, registration $30,000 Ha ha ha. Yeah about that. I'll take my 2004 BMW R1150RT any day all day. 😊 HD 811 lbs !!! 🙄 GOOD GOSH thats why they are called hogs. BMW 560 lbs, full fairing with electric windscreen, removable side & top bags. 😊. I paid $6K 11 yrs ago (9yo used). It now has 55K miles no issues, except in tank fuel pump stopped once. Going on two trips soon, one 1200 miles, other half that.
I'll stick with my Moto Guzzi V100 sport tourer. Three hundred pounds lighter, 115 hp with an almost flat torque curve. Bags are bigger, windshield is electric and too many other features to list included for $10,000 less.
Everything is so subjective. I haven't been on a Cheftain since 2019 but I'd like to ride them back to back. The Street Glide is nimble feeling though... for a bagger.
@@DifferentSpokesTV I rode a 24 Street back to back with a 23 Chieftain, my subjective opinion was that the Indian felt lighter. Also, the footboards on the Chieftain are almost impossible to drag, pipes hit first and only after leaning WAY over.
@blackbuttecruizr As a 2024 Chieftain Dark Horse owner, I totally agree. I test road the Road Glide, Street Glide, and Challenger before making my decision on buying the Chieftain.
Not interested in electronically adjustable windscreen. Just get a clear one of the proper size and you're fine. If you need more wind, open the vent. I have no interest in the FSD cruise control either. If I want the bike to do everything for me, I'll buy a Honda. I've been diddling with these MC controls for about 50 yrs now and I haven't needed Elon's electronic assistance yet. I also have electric gloves that keep my entire hands warm, so I have no need for heated grips either. If it gets really cold out, I put the Hippo Hands on the bike. Truth be told, I can do w/o all the electronic crap and the fairing used to hide it. If they make it into a Road King standard, they will sell at least one. My problems are: 1. No bag crash protectors. It falls over, you're buying an expensive new bag. 2. Mustache front crash protector. Cute I suppose, but doesn't allow one to slip the cold weather wind blockers on it. 3. Tiny front fender. Again, cute for the modern metrosexual rider, but that front tire is going to machine gun that low slung radiator with everything on the road. 4. The seat is probably okay, but I like the Sundowner better. More room to move around. Not so locked into place. Problem is it's taller. And with it on, the SG bars are too low for me. Would like the SGs more if they put Road King standard handlebars on them. I like the new platform, but if they don't bring out Road King version, I'll probably move on to something else. I demo'd a new Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and thought despite the dirt bike look, it was a fantastic road bike. Again too much poorly done electronic crap on it, but the bones of that bike were butter. I'd just need to lower the hell out of it.
NO f'n adjustable windshields! Don't need it or an ice maker or any other odd crap you dream up should be a premium option! Frick next you people will want lumbar support, a sun visor, and god knows what else!!! I own this bike. the RG is more comfortable because of bar height. I had to replace stock bars for 14" apes. and Rockford Fosgate sound system is garbage. rest is perfect!
$26K??? Good luck reeling customers with that price. I don't know about you but last I checked, Harley's new "Woke" agenda really screwed themselves with their main customer base. Prices have tanked here in the States.
I wouldn't be surprised if the founders of h-d are giving skeleton middle fingers to the company nowadays. Today's h-d's suck so bad. Who's gonna buy a Charley anymore but wokies?
I swapped my 8 mo. old Whiskey Fire RG for a Blue Burst SG and am happier. I added seat / KW windshield and Rineharts and I'm good to go.
Oh, I forgot to mention. Considering the price point and the fact that it’s a bagger, heated grips should be standard.
I agree ! I owned gold wings. Beemer touring and just rented Indian pursuit for 10days.. new harley bagger best, for what i like..so i bought it
Excellent video as always.

Right on all counts. It is quite a package. But the Gold Wing......

Brotherrrr!! So much TORQUE the chassis will twist off the line. Keep that HOG shiny side up 🤠
Yes, the hp is not that high for such a heavy bike, but the torque feels like you're on a diesel.
