Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-39 SUNSTREAKER Video Review
The gaps on the lower insides of his legs can be completely closed up. After you bring down the panels to cover the upper inside of the legs, just lock the lower leg covers with the tabs provided. I realized I could do this after noticing the gaps were still there and playing around with it a bit, but it was so worth it. Now, there are no gaps there and he looks even better.
@optibotimus the bottom part of the legs clips together so if you do it right you will remove the small gap you’ve got there. I love that you transform both ways in all your videos. Keep up the good job!

Collin Shaw It's unlikely they'll do that. It was required here as without the alternate transformation Takara wouldn't have gotten the Lamborghini liscence.

Collin Shaw Oh there's no doubt they'll do more features but not alternate transformations like on Sunstreaker as with him that was required to get the Lamborghini liscence.
Being a wheelchair user, I'm kinda glad I didn't attempt to watch the unofficial Sunstreaker toy review. Seeing their take on Chip Chase with leg articulation, that wants to bug me unless he's too top-heavy to balance
I've never actually liked Sunstreaker's stats, here's what I'd give him:
Strength-7, in "Roll for it" he's arm wrestling Sideswipe and they're going 50/50.

Firepower-8
Skill-10, on his original G1 card he is stated to be very skilled in all ways of combat.

Great review. Just a few minor nitpicks: those yellow pieces attached to his wheels are heel spurs. You forgot to fold them down all the way. His elbows also slide forward to lock into place and make the joint flush. Also, there should be two pieces that fold out to tab into the two fake door windows in the chest piece.
First of all: I really dig your Masterpiece reviews. Everytime I add a Masterpiece to my collection, instead of unpacking and unfolding the instructions, I watch one of your reviews. They're like the best manuals you can get. :-) What I noticed while watching your MP-39 video review: Did you mention that his blaster can be plugged onto the back of his jetpack? Just wondering, since I can't recall you showing that. If you did mention it: Ignore the previous sentences. ;-)
Just finished transforming this guy really good masterpiece we've gotten in awhile very Impressed fairly simple transformation also
Practically Sunstreaker thinks he's Primus's gift to all Cybertronians.
I got mine, love him like the car mode always have. The transformation is tricky it took me two days and watching your videos to transform him but he came out just like yours besides the windshield coming off but well in all he is a well to do figure

just got in mine and it really is an amazing figure. Thank god for video reviews like this though, because the instructions are very tiny. Following here makes it a lot easier, especially because there a few tricky parts. Only transformed once but it feels pretty complicated, but it'll get easier over time I bet. I ordered him together with the new Sideswipe and they look great together.
Quite an amazing figure! I knew it was just a matter of time before they made Sunstreaker as an official MP! Now all's missing from the season 1 of G1 Transformers are Mirage, Jazz, Hound, Cliffjumper, Huffer, Windcharger, Gears and Brawn. And BTW Paul, you mixed up the names of Sunstreaker and Sideswipe a few times in this review... but still, great review!
I have this guy on the way, and I love the robot mode, but it was really the features in the Lamborghini mode that really sold me on him. The extra details and options are absolutely amazing. Great review as always, thanks Paul!
Good review. Man you switched up so many times between calling him Sideswipe/Sunstreaker that it made me concerned if you were having a senior moment.
Very thorough review. You forgot a couple steps. One was to slide the biceps. Second was the two side tabs of the fake chest. This guy is awesome, no doubt about that.

I dont get why Takara put inches on the knees ,after all he is parallelized its not like he can move his legs.
If anything they should have put some articulation in the arms.

Hopefully when certain characters hit the MP line IE The Reflectors, Runabout & Runamuck, Insecticons, Scourge/the Sweeps, they will release them as Multi-packs.

if you watch the G1 cartoon the small guns perfect... It also folds up nicely and goes into either one of his legs or under his turbo back section in alt mode.
I mean you know everybody has their opinion I get that but it's 100% G1 accurate, lol I love it to death, WAY more posing possibilities

Have you ever heard that their 1984 toy bios got switched? Sideswipe was supposed to have the personality of his brother and vice versa. It explains rocket backpack situation in the cartoon. Sunstreaker has a way more natural backpack than sideswipe.
i wouldn't be surprised ]if they figured out how to remold this into a sideswipe 2.0 with that alternate Lamborghini mode

Seriously considering buying this figure but I’ve had masterpieces in the past especially hot Rod 2.0 and the chrome wore off him so I’m a little hesitant about buying him when he has all the chrome wondering have you had any problems with figure with chrome wear

pious83 I don't think this will even be released by Hasbro, and the recent MP Hasbro releases have been identical to their Takara counterparts.
+Jarmo Verriet I've noticed Hasbro's recent MP releases have been really lacklustre in terms of extras, it's disappointing to say the least. It's funny that Hunter & Sunstreaker would be more likely to appear in the Titans Return line as a Head/TitanMaster than as a homage in this line.

Worst part is that ever since it came out - and even moreso with the advent of the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line - rumors have been running rampant about a retooling of MPM3 into the 76-77 Camaro version... something that to this day hasn't happened yet.
It's about time Takara or Hasbro re-releasing the Transformers Prime in the Masterpiece Line! It's bogus how the most accurate toy version of the characters are almost non-existent for people to buy and the mass-release ones are not up to par. Also, another re-issue of G1 Optimus Prime would be nice since I haven't got one yet.
The G1 MP collection hasn't even reached the halfway point yet and MP Beast Wars numbers (currently) at 3. Prime is so far down the line (if they will bother going beyond the Takara Series at all) it's not worth mentioning. The MP Collection was made for the most iconic characters of the Transformers series, not for the newer series.

I think you mean MP-12, since MP-10 is Optimus Prime, and MP-12 is Lambor/Sideswipe.
Nicholas Camacho If you're saying Sunstreaker or Sideswipe, I love Sideswipe more. He looks way more better in my opinion and his poses are just fantastic, especially with the shoulder gun.

I don't understand why Sunstreaker even exists. We already have an arrogant Autobot (Tracks) and about two (Sideswipe and Lockdown) Lamborghini characters. Sunstreaker didn't even do anything special,and doesn't show up in anything new. (Transformers media, like the Movieverse and cartoons)
To me, he's basically a yellow sideswipe. I mean, come on,atleast I can tell the differences from Sideswipe and Red Alert or The Seekers/virtually every Decepticon that transforms into a jet.
For example: Skywarp and Starscream. Shucks, the two have different characteristics and motives. Starscream is treacherous and ambitious where Skywarp is kinda dumb.
Heck, most Decepticons and Autobots are showoffs/showoff-ish. There are alot of characters that share the same traits. I see alot of the same character, especially in Optimus and other 'heroic' characters, that's why I like Movie Optimus Prime. I like the fact that Michael Bay made Prime into a murderer. I don't like seeing Optimus Prime act stoic and heroic and noble all of the time.
I liked seeing Starscream as an Autobot, I also think that suits 'Screamer either being an Autobot or Predacon.
I like that they brought Unicron into the Movieverse, I wanna see more 'Chaotically Evil' and 'Chaotic Neutral' characters. Antiheroes are everywhere, look at DC with Harley Quinn and Suicide Squad.
Or playful,childish protagonists. Those archetypes are everywhere, look at Bumblebee in this franchise and Kirby.
Most of those characters are stale to me,like Batman and Orphaned Protagonists or Insane Villains. Too many mysterious characters. Being mysterious is merely an excuse to not have your character develop and have a backstory. This is also what happens when you have a mute/silent/quiet protagonist like Doomguy and Master Chief. They don't develop, it's just the story and antagonists developing.
They did a video talking about 'Why is Doomguy so angry', I think he's angry because he is stuck in Hell and has so many pent-up frustrations with demons.
I don't want to see a stoic Optimus anymore, it'd make alot of sense for him to be angry, just like Doomguy. Peter Cullen might not want to play or voice an infuriated Optimus, but I think it'd be much better.
Too many of the same character nowadays running around under similar names.

PrimalTheEmperor (primal9000) lockdown isn't a g1 character. Transformers animated was the first series he showed up in and he wasnt a Lamborghini in that show.

I feel sorry for you masterpiece collectors. It going to take Takara 30-37yrs before they finish making ALL the CARTOON characters (season 1-4) Most of you will be dead by then ( seriously).😔
What's worse is their lack of consistency. They've already started MP Beast Wars and even Star Saber from the Takara series, yet they haven't even expanded the G1 series, post-Movie, outside of Hot-Rod/Rodimus. If Jazz, Sunstreaker etc are held up due to licensing issues with their Car Mode, *Skip Them.* Galvatron, Kup, Springer, the Insecticons etc have no such issues. They need to stop flooding this line with Seekers and Car Robots, most of which didn't even survive after Season 2.

Hey, speaking as a G1 collector myself, the offerings they put out has made me very happy. Even if Takara hasn't come out with every MP version of the Transformers, there are third party offerings that have done a nice job of filling in the void of Transformers that have not gotten the MP treatment.
Us CHUG collectors will have ALL the characters from the show by 2021 while you OFFICAL masterpiece collectors have 30+yrs to go ( seriously do the math). Your grandkids will have to finish it for you after you all die. HAVE FUN!😂😂😂

LOL well that was correct. It's only appropriate when something is clearly evident for all viewers and further details are unnecessary.
You use it for things that are not clearly evident for all viewers, and sometimes you use it as a substitute for the word "also" or "additionally" eg. "Obviously you have the sword, obviously you can put the little blast on there, obviously you can put it on his gun... obviously you can put on his headpiece..." (Takara Tomy MP-36, 38-39 min)
You also frequently use it in place of "consequently" eg. "...which obviously makes Optimus Prime die."
Maybe you just really like the sound of the word. I don't know.

No, trying to make non-fake parts would increase the cost more while not increasing sales, so they will fail faster.
