Great review, found a easy fix for the chest piece, place a small amount of blutack on the peg and it will hold better, and it's easy to remove whenever you want to transform him.
I'm so glad I rewatched this review! I just recently picked up the Takara re-issue and thought mine was broken due to the fact the cockpit/chest piece doesn't lock into place. Relieved, sort of, that it was just made that way. Great review as always!!

I'm sorry for my Codpiece suggestion. I don't own this mold but played with the original mold a lot. My main beef with the Thundercracker review was the guns not being plugged into the ball socket. I don't even remember it being mentioned. I was shocked as every other review I saw mentioned it. In retrospect, I see you must not have viewed any other MP11 reviews and Cheap Hasbro added an MP 03 set of instructions, so you wouldn't have known.
Glad you left in that bit about the cod piece breaking. Another great review. One day I hope to have this guy, but he is a low priority, since I have the MP03 mold with the coronation set :)

I guess I wouldn't say "hologram" as much as "translucent" for the pilot. I have the Walmart Skywarp, his nose tip broke off, used some super-glue, it's holding but when it snapped my heart broke. This Starscream is painted perfectly!
On thundercracker you can have the missiles attached at the same time as the null rays. You just have the null rays hovering right below the missiles on those pieces. It looks really cool with both the null rays and missiles.
Sorry you broke it a bit. Starscream looks amazing! I noticed my Hot Rod MP-11 is a lot mor fragile than my Optimus prime MP-10. Keep up the great Reviews.
You should have turned the hand 90° so the back of the hand onely show in alt mold. It result in a sleeker transfometion and the hand actually getting hidden.
The designer wanted to make a realistic jet mode for the mp3, to accommodate the bulky robot parts he decided to make the alt-mode an F-15 variant with a large curved undercarriage as the regular F-15 wouldn't fit it. But it gave Starscream's robot mode large kibble coming off his hips, apparently they were scabbards, the long things knights and samurai hold their swords in, but this was scrapped as being not show-accurate, but they still left the large hip kibble.
I am still not sold on the MP11.The WM exl had better colours and shape. Plus the coronation set wasnt plastic but cloth which IDK It feels nice to me. On the MP11 Id give the feet design and the fact that you dont need to attach the plastics on his sides. Oh and the gun attachment.
Good review, did the exact same thing with the codpiece on my Thundercracker last week when I got him and cracked it! I was pretty bummed but like your's its not a bad break but still depressing when you spend the money on something and that happens.
hey man, i just got my mp11 the other day, and as usal ill watch ur vids to refresh me about the figure, and to heed warnings too! Im sorry u broke the hinge or as i call the the crotch piece lol. I remember when i got my MP Voltron and the hinge to the red lion was cracked, i crazy glued it it held fine.....so then i to to transform the green lion and the paw just broke off, l was so gentle with it i couldnt believe how easy it snapped! its a crappy feeling!. Great job on the reveiws as always!
Got this yesterday. Man the color and accuracy is sweet !!! Thing is this remold have better articulation than mp3. And there is a peg on the waist , I get the cockpit body to the peg and the body stays connected when I move the hands.
I'd actually say the Walmart MP is more toy-accurate - the new one's lighter blue is definitely cartoon. Hoping this one comes to the US too. Can't see them redoing Skywarp, at least in the US anyway, after it sat on Walmart's shelves forever and ever. I think the only thing to make him more cartoon-accurate would be a brighter-yellow canopy.
I'll have to get this. I had the MP3 Starscream but it fell and broke. I have the MP Skywarp with the MP3 mold and the new thundercracker. I need to complete the trio
I like the legs and cape on this new one. But it's certainly not better in every way. Jet mode is far superior on MP-03, 03 has better paint apps IMO. I also like the smirk face on the old one, disappointing they didn't do the smirk on this one. Sucks there's no stand for this one too, the 03 stand is especially great for displaying jet mode, and for posing him taking off or "mid flight" kind of poses. I also modded the legs on my 03 to make them look a bit better. I would still consider picking this new one up if he was more reasonably priced. Sure wish Hasbro would go back to licensing MP's to Wall-mart. I picked up my MP Starscream and Skywarp both for only $20 apiece on clearance. Mp-01 Optimus for only $30. It's tough justifying spending 10x more for the same figure just to get a cape.

The wing problem you talk about at 19:13 is also a problem on my Masterpiece Acid Storm, though not consistently. Maybe they're using the Takara version of the mold for Acid Storm. Also, do you think it would be possible to get the chest to lock in properly if you sanded down the squared-off edges on the codpiece? Because I'm pretty sure that's the only thing keeping the tab on the back of his pelvis from locking into the hole in his torso.

I have both this Takara and the KBB and the KBB blows it away in every way. But hey, both are worth about the same where I live but I think I'm still going sell the Takara.
in my opinion, this looks more like his cartoon counterpart, mainly because on the toy he had a darker colored nosecone that really was reflected in the wal-mart exclusive while on the show his colors were more one toned and more or less constant from the cone to the thrusters.

Optibotimus, you should be thanking Shoji Kawamori for this figure. Of course, what you fail to mention is that MP 03 has a better, cleaner jet mode, some trade offs had to be made for that in robot mode. This better represents the original prototype before Kawamori wanted a better jet mode for Screamer. In the end it is up to fans individual tastes to decide which is better.
If you haven't already (i don't know if you mentioned it) you should display the mp-03 in jet with the stand and the mp-11 in robot. Helpful hint from your biggest fan, Ultimateadave :D
Just out of random what do you think of the hasbro acidstorm and sunstorm figures look wise? There not really main seekers but I would find it interesting to hear your opinion on them.

the original MP screamer had the bot-mode compromised to have a accurate jet. It's the opposite for the new MP. This new mold is better because it marks starscream's big moment in the movie. If takara make a MP galvatron, then that would set it off to a tee
Speaking of the streamline in jet mode for the MP 03 and the niceties of the MP 11 in robot mode because of the lack of kibble, that's where iGear came into play and made the perfect mold. They retained the streamline of the MP 03 while simultaneously eliminating the kibble so you had the best of both worlds. Streamline and no kibble. It's ironic because iGear obviously ripped off Takara's original mold but they greatly improved it and in return, Takara obviously ripped off iGear's mold where the mold of the legs eliminating the kibble is concerned.
i remembered in your thundercracker review on him he had something that looked like soundwave and he had an image of reflector so u said we might get an mp reflector i saw on the walmart mp 03 he had an image of a crown and the shoulder pieces do u think that was a hint to getting the mp-11?

The reason for MP-03's sleekness is because the jet mode is based off of the F-15E Strike Eagle, while MP-11 is based off of the F-15C Eagle

About 5 years later and we just got a new MP Megatron, still no Galvatron, Cyclonus, Astrotrain, Blitzwing, or Insecticons...
Here in the Philippines,we have a Takara Tomy Masterpiece being sold in our local Toys R' Us
costing P4000 above.

Great interview. I would add that the light blue is on the arms and feet is actually accurate to the cartoon.
