brings back memories. i was a MCT tactics instructor at camp geiger back when it started in the late 80s. i taught patrolling, ambushes, handling pows and assauting tanks.
This has paid dividend I had a company of logistics and mechanic, when we got attacked in Iraq in 03, they reacted flawlessly. Best training in all of the services. They do an outstanding job at MCT.
Now on to what i was going to say. 50 yrs ago, before going to the dirty little war in viet nam, 1968 - '69, as an 0311. Our infantry training course wasn't bad, it worked at the time. But face it, we were rather rushed through. As for what I'm seeing...this is OUTSTANDING. Remember, KNOWLEDGE IS STRENGTH. And let me say this; WAR SUCKS, BUT WITH THE NUMBER OF ASSHOLES, DICTATORS OR POWER HUNGRY, WAR STARTING COCKSUCKERS OUT THERE...SOMEBODY BETTER KNOW HOW TO FIGHT WAR. I have full confidence that these young Marines will do a fantastic job keeping the wolves off our door. God bless you all. Semper Fi, First Sergeant Goodman, USMC, (ret).
It's going to get even better. Gen. Berger has written in his Force 2030 report that we have to look at extending our entry level and advanced infantry training. Rumors are going around that ITB is going to be extended to 6 months, vice 2 months. Exciting times are ahead for sure, and I can't wait to see our Marines get better training for future fights.

Army does have VERY basic weapons/field training and squad movements for non-combat MOSs but marines have a little more extensive training for their MCT course and even more still for their ITB. Actual infantry marines go through ITB
Why is there a female combat instructor. Just saying that if they can't be in the infantry or most combat roles then how do they have the skills to teach other marines
Bc of equal opportunity bs that's flooding the military world. Women want combat jobs just like the men. But they want a separate PFT and CFT standards. it's all political bs
To be honest I was saying the same thing even though I went in 01. We had all our training in the field and I don't remember lecture halls. It was mostly outside in the woods
Back in my day you had Corporals on the drill field and Lcpl's teaching classes at MCT under the watchful eyes of corporals and sergeants of course. I think rank was a lot more respected than than it is now from Marines that I talk to now. However the Marines have always been very good on small unit leadership. It's also my opinion they should let corporals back on the drill field
As a young man hoping to join the USMC in 4-6 years, do the USMC have any recommended workout programs that I could use to better prepare for boot camp?
Caleb, this is not official Marine Corps philosophy rather it's just based on one Marines experience. Back in the 1960s when I enlisted, the top 10% of each recruit platoon were awarded Private First Class (E-2) on graduation day. The following helped me to achieve that goal. I'm going to make two suggestions to you: 1) Train physically almost every day between now and when you leave for boot camp. Run as far as you can, every other day or so, be sure to include jogging, wind sprints and cross-country endurance tests. Do calisthenics EVERY day. Warm up and stretch those muscles, tendons and ligaments then really hit the exercises hard. Lift weights every other day, alternate "upper body days" with "leg days". 2) Memorize your 11 General Orders BEFORE you leave. They don't have to make sense to you now, just memorize them. I will leave you a link to them: www.usmc1.us/usmc-11-general-orders If you do these two things, you will be miles ahead of the rest of your recruit platoon. Hope this helps you. Never Give Up! The day you receive your EG&A, all of your sacrifices will have been worth it! Semper Fi, TreeTop, Sgt. (E-5) USMC 1968-71

@@_random3906 I had to get on a M240 several times in Iraq in 08, got to use mortars in 09 when we were in Majave viper for pre deployment training, reason is some of us pogs had to help carry shells for a training evolution, and at the same time I got to learn a lot about that weapon system and drop some a couple times, so I actually do know how to use it somehwat, doesn't take rocket science to accurately fire a SMAW bro you know that ...I was a supply guy. I was in 1/2, and had a lot of friends in weapons...I was roommates with 2 snipers in the barracks for like 3 months for some reason lol, I still don't remember why we had to be roommates, but we became friends. I was friends with a lot of infantry guys in my unit...I hooked them up a lot too... tactically acquired some k bars for a couple of my infantry homies. Thing is, I'm a dumbass and truly got tricked into supply by my recruiter...told me SOI was backed up by 6 months...I said I couldn't wait so she gave a list of MOS to pick, told me I could lateral move later which was a lie tbh...I never had an opportunity to even try for Recon as the Marine Corps needed supply people and my leadership wouldn't allow it, only thing they allowed was for me to go to intermediate supply school (yuck) and Corporals course, shit like that, I wanted to try for Recon, when MARSOC started allowing people to drop packets I was about to get out. I picked supply because it's the one mos on the list that had a bonus. So when I got sent to 1/2...and settled in and got used to being in the fleet, I gravited to the Infantry guys, I was the supply guy to be cool to them when they'd come to our shop for working parties etc. When I got out, I actually joined the Army national guard as 11B, it was short lived though only stayed for like a year and a half...but they were surprised that I knew pretty much all of the basics of infantry tactics as I came from the Marine Corps Pog side...well it was because of MCT and my time in an Infantry unit, with 2 deployments and full training workups. Some Pogs forget all that sht and just go to work, some don't...but don't get it twisted we learn basics of infantry...then if we end up in a infantry unit at H&S we get even more training.
all marines go through basic training and finish with the crucible right ? why don't they just add MCT to the basic training of ALL marines? in any case this is a must for all branches of the armed forces not just the marines
Excuse the one, 'why is there female instructors'...Maybe she's an armorist, (ya know, the ones that disassemble and assemble many type weapons, and break them down to a level, no other Marines are allowed to break down) Doesn't mean she's teaching how to GUT A MAN WITH KBAR. And, the Marine Corps is smart enough to know where to use its manpower/womanpower.
Emanuel Fernán it’s not putting them directly in a combat role. It’s teaching basic combat skills to every Marine, so that if they have a situation like at camp bastion, they can handle it and eliminate the threat.
mr.dawg: do not get it mixed up: if you are using live ammo, it is not a search and sieze-- if are using lethal force, eliminate all of them because, you do not want your ass whipped.

They should do all these training in the winter in Camp Geiger - what a hellish memory of cold.
Awesome training!
I remember hearing about this. Our air wingers were getting some good stuff
1st Sgt Combs was my company 1st SGT back in 2008-2009
MCT for me was 4th phase bootcamp. All of my instructors were POGS and weren't really helpful. They didn't let's us really do anything we were studying. Like adjusting the machine fire when you have to shoot. It was a waste of time.
+Dale Greene i had good combat instructors but it was more of a 4th phase boot camp becouse slot of the marines were beligerant as fuck
Most MCT instructors are POGs. The infantry training battalion gets the best combat instructors because it's the primary MOS for them.
+James Brown I would hope so. The Corps should get rid of MCT or make it two weeks like it use to be. I had an female MCT instructor with an administrator MOS. Never listened to anything she had to say. I had one motor t, two supply guys, and an artillery Marine.
+Dale Greene that fucking sucks. I loved infantry training battalion because our CI's were all grunts.
+James Brown The Marines have the best propaganda out of any of the branches. Thank God I didn't have to combat bc I didn't trust any of my instructors.
3:28 that girl with her legs up oh boy if I did that at ITB I would have been taken outside for some "leg exercises"
From this video, only thing I never did in combat training was never fired a M203 grenade launcher. That sucks we never learned to shoot one.
I met a DI who was at Camp Bastion

👍👍👍💪🇺🇸🌅🌎🇺🇸💪👏👏👏
I think every American should go through some type of military training work in their lifetime good or bad
Agree that's why Asia strong as fudge
Bro that's what I said too.
God Bless The United States Marine's Corps.U.S.S... 🇺🇸🇺🇸🌏🌎🌍🇺🇸🇺🇸
To be like them!
STRAGETY IS A EXPENCE OF KNOWLEDGE THAT SCORES US TO SUCESS IN HOURS OF LIMITED BREATH & SCENARIO OF DEATH. THE FEW THE PROUD
Holy crap, I thought us flightliners can never see combat.
its possible I heard about the harrier guys since bootcamp
boot
Your pog job sucks and you should feel bad for picking it hahahaha
Does the army have something like this too this is for non infantry positions right?
Army does have VERY basic weapons/field training and squad movements for non-combat MOSs but marines have a little more extensive training for their MCT course and even more still for their ITB. Actual infantry marines go through ITB
Send in the marines!!!!
Probably because on many battlefields today there isn't a FEBA so all Marines have to be ready to repel and stop attacks.
Because it is a B billet and she probably saw combat i actually recognize her from when i went through
deamonfly6 how many females did you meet that you trust to watch your back when the shit hits the fan?

MY RIFLE IS MY SWORD _ MY SWORD IS MY LIFE _ WE ARE MARINES CORPS ..THE FEW THE PROUD
Beast.
does the east coast get better funding? because we did all our training in shitty ass bungalows
To be honest I was saying the same thing even though I went in 01. We had all our training in the field and I don't remember lecture halls. It was mostly outside in the woods
MCT = No sleep
EVERY MARINE IS A RIFLE MAN
3:26 that fucking room
@2:55 *correction* “Voluntold” 🤣
How come you guys didn't mention 29 palms? Forbes to 5 places to raise children
Back in my day you had Corporals on the drill field and Lcpl's teaching classes at MCT under the watchful eyes of corporals and sergeants of course.
I think rank was a lot more respected than than it is now from Marines that I talk to now. However the Marines have always been very good on small unit leadership. It's also my opinion they should let corporals back on the drill field
we didnt do any of this years ago. wot
I'm going to make two suggestions to you:
1) Train physically almost every day between now and when you leave for boot camp.
I will leave you a link to them:
www.usmc1.us/usmc-11-general-orders
If you do these two things, you will be miles ahead of the rest of your recruit platoon. Hope this helps you. Never Give Up! The day you receive your EG&A, all of your sacrifices will have been worth it!

@@TreeTop1947 fuckin POG...
@@KWhiteServantOfYHVH your comment makes no sense.
....also on a side note arti shouldn't be considered pog we are in the field even more than the infantry guys
How these people remember everything.
I'm 17 in the 11th grade and my AFQT score is 54 on the ASVAB, would I qualify for infantry secondary MOS as scout sniper?
Why not Google it?
Ask a recruiter.
LOL what a marine telling a soon to be marine to stay out of your corps? Ummm no if i cant be sniper ill just take the asvab again, not that hard and i can simply become a riflemen dipshit. Oh BTW my recruiter did say my GT score is high enough to be a scout sniper, he told me AFQT just determines whether overall i can enlist dumb ass.
I've been in the marine corps for 3 years. And I'm telling you don't join. It's a load of shit and hyped up to be something it's not. Take it or leave it. Try a different branch. And don think people will think your some badass because you're a sniper. No one cares
Yes im doing the marine corps because my whole family has been in it. and Owen i'll be in "your" corps either way so all im saying is thank you two for your service and thanks for the feed back.
Remember, a POG can easily replace a grunt, but a grunt can never replace a POG. 03's ain't shit but a one trick pony. And even then they suck at it. They need pit love to go qual to qual.
0300s are like 12% of the Corps. I'd like to see a POG operate a mortar, SMAW, or even an M240 Bravo and replace weapons platoon Marines.
@@_random3906 Get a grunt to do basic maintenance on a piece of gear that he uses daily and that some bootfuck PFC could do, and he'll say "Fuck this POG shit, bro, this ain't my job" then go back to his room and play video games and jerk off all day, but expects some dude who's too busy with his job all day in the Marine Corps to know the ins and outs of every aspect of the 03 field, when even 03s don't know that. Get over yourself.
I hope they just have SOI for all marines
MCT is the pog equivalent of ITB at SOI if I'm not mistaken
fucking pogs........ lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 29 days and back to paper cuts
Phase 4 for life man. :D
+Michael Gorr "Rabble rabble rabble" Who you calling boot?? You know you can say that no more!!! 😲😲😠😠 lol
lmao!!!!!
+KiloSixTV shower shoe actually. lol... actually .. "I was going to join...."
ignorant fuck....let me guess, your a Lance Corporal
all marines go through basic training and finish with the crucible right ?
why don't they just add MCT to the basic training of ALL marines?
in any case this is a must for all branches of the armed forces not just the marines
MCT is required for all Marines... Infantry is exempt because they're trained more extensively.
MCT is a whole different ball field.
+April Cooke it's a joke is what it is...
Marines don't go to basic training...They go to MCRD to become Marines.
James Brown Infantry aren't exempt, the first four weeks of itb is identical to mct
First Sgt Combs, the best First Sgt to ever serve.
can anyone tell me what the difference is between this course ans SOI?
+Nekson smith MCT is for non-combat Marines, I think.
Just from a lowly civilian puke.
SOI is school of infantry. You go to SOI for either ITB or MCT.
April Cooke thanks for the info April. Also thanks for being so beautiful ;)
+Nekson smith My daughter is in MCT right now. She graduated from boot camp March 11, she just turned 18 March 2nd.
+April Cooke that's awesome! Good for her. I hope she does well and goes far with her career and does great thing for this country
WMs do MCT? I was in the 90s, didn't exist.
Imagine how shocking it is to someone like myself who mustered out in 1965!
OneGenericName I'm glad WMs are, they are Marines too. It's all green.
SGT Bigs Well, that's not entirely true. I went through MCT in the Summer of 89 at Camp Geiger. We were informed that it was phased in that year.
I know almost every combat instructor in this video lol im now corporal and serve with two of my combat instructors in afghanistan
I need my paperwork..
Built for battle.
wish it was this way now lol
Isn’t every marine a rifleman so they better watch out for the flight line troops too
Every POG can do basic infantry tasks if needed
We were not big guys in 62.
yutttt former sgt
I was skinny no muscle i fell in the cold wayer over the bars. Of course nothing like new army's
Women in combat role weaken our fighting forces.
Emanuel Fernán it’s not putting them directly in a combat role. It’s teaching basic combat skills to every Marine, so that if they have a situation like at camp bastion, they can handle it and eliminate the threat.
Godam best thing I've read all day!
mr.dawg: do not get it mixed up: if you are using live ammo, it is not a search and sieze-- if are using lethal force, eliminate all of them because, you do not want your ass whipped.
Oorah!
A women combat trainer wow!

I dunno what you just said but it better not be some commie bullshit
Questions why not just do what the army does and teach it all 13 wks and call it marine basic combat training . Yes the army is only 10wks but it is 10 wks of basic combat training so I guess a soldier is already a basic rifleman to
for millions of years you give a descent effort while dying making sure you don't die and leave the book turning pages without supervision from the idiot who took the chance and tried replacing millions of years in experience with millions of deaths just to challenge myself and return the insults I received for donating my vision

Breedlove? what the hell. how is that someoens last name
+Dirk Bravo - Lead singer of 10 foot screws. yea i was wondering the same thing
like seeing someone named humperman or freelove :)
i keep wondering where did this last names come from ?
I have a friend named Breedlove. and we are both Marines
Chris Hyland nothing wrong with that , but still - strange surnames that for the love of someone , i have no idea how people got them
i understand names like thatcher because its a profession , so they used to call people by their day to day occupation
but breedlove ? freelove ?
where did those come from ? the 60s ?
+Pele sch One of the most beautiful female marines in the 80's name was Fännylugger. And no one messed with her. These names are just Anglo American Ooh-Raa
mct fucking sucked but I made a lot of friends there. MREs got old super fast as well
So you wanna be a marine.......huh
Not a valid SDA anymore...
POGS!
I fucking hate POGs!!!!
The thankful riddle overwhelmingly double because ruth taxonomically mourn athwart a deep process. opposite, truculent cap
women combat instructors??? combat instructors who aren’t infantry??? 🤔 ummm, okay lol
A lot has changed in MCT since I went through in 2003. I'm glad it has but then again it's what Marines do, adapt. Wish I went through it all again, it was some fun and good times!!
POGS!
