You mentioned the scene where they were dancing at the Bronze as looking like the opening to Batman Beyond, but ACTUALLY they animated that exact scene of Buffy and Faith dancing for the X-Men: Evolution cartoon with Rogue and Kitty Pryde replacing Faith and Buffy... pretty iconic 90s moment
Omg never knew that, and « sirens » is my favorite X-men revolution episode and « bad girls » is one of my top 5 Buffy episode so thanks for this cool fact 🔥
One fun thing was seeing the relationship between Buffy and Faith at it's highest. And as much as Buffy's friends are there, Faith gets closer to her due more to the Slayer element. It's something that they both can relate to. It also has Buffy letting lose more than usual. But once Faith does what she does, and admits that she doesn't care, it shows Buffy that being a Slayer has its dark side too.
It's easier to see how power can corrupt, from the outside, rather than when it happens to yourself.
As far as I know Wesley was sent for both Buffy and Faith, so essentially they "share" a Watcher. And the ordeal with Gwendolyn kind of broke Faith's trust completely in them.
Awww, baby Wesley. How young he looked. How innocent.
Fuffy's first date ❤🔥
I think the joke of Angel putting the amulet in his jacket is that it's infinitely safer in Angel's pocket than it is in Wesley's
BEHOLD! Wesley, my favorite character in the Buffyverse and Alyson Hannigan's irl husband, Alexis Denisof.
Look at little Wesley in his introduction. So young............... so innocent 😐
Well they Need to Watch Angel to get all that Sweet Sweet development

I get the excitement Guys but these comments are more spoilery than you think. Wesley is also one of my favs
At the end of season 2 Willow gave Angel his soul back using the original curse the Romani used. So if Angel has another moment of happiness, then he will lose his soul, again.
Right, so hopefully it’s understood cursed = good Angel. Moment of perfect happiness = curse lifted and soul lost.
And let’s specify that it has to be a “PERFECT MOMENT OF HAPPINESS” for Angel. So it’s not based of him getting a nut. That moment after they were done and he fell asleep in perfect peace was his moment. Who knows if every time he makes love to Buffy whether he’ll receive that specific moment of pure happiness. It’s risky but it’s a rare thing to be TRULY and perfectly happy especially with his depressing ass.
@@notyouraveragebear9326 my take is that due to all the bad stuff that happened last time he would no longer be able to experience true happiness after making love to Buffy.
@@notyouraveragebear9326They don’t establish that until much later in another show.
@@emzyhobbyist632Fully, but it's established in Innocence as a "moment of contentment" rather than bliss or such.
This episode nails it in terms of comedic moments, action and serious plot development and character moments. Actually, pretty much every episode in S3 from here on out nails it, I can't wait
They actual used that clubbing scene to animate Xmen evolution when Rogue and Kitty hit the club.
“ She’s just dealing right now”
Oh, you sweet summer child😂
Wesley: appears
Me (who knows the future): squeals internally
Favorite character arc in the entire buffyverse for me!
This is a turning point in season 3. S3 has been so solid so far but now it takes off.
Subscribed to your patreon because I love your reactions! I know most of you may be hesitant to start Angel, but I promise you WON'T regret it by the end. It starts kind of like season 1 of Buffy with 'monster of the week' episodes but it find it's footing in the latter half of season 1. Pleaseeeeeee watch Angel. It only enhances your Buffy-verse experience!!!
Agreed. Angel becomes such a solid show (well, mostly). Plus you kinda need to watch both shows once they are both on.
If they don’t watch Angel in conjunction to the rest of Buffy, there’s no point of me continuing with them. I’ll continue with other Buffyverse reactors who don’t willingly hate on Angel, choose not to understand Angels backstory, forget most of the lore they watch in previous episodes in the same season, and talk/make jokes through moments and scenes they miss because they wanna be comedians.
It's funny, I actually didn't mind season 1 of Angel at the time. Though, it is a little rough to watch, now.
I agree, season 3 of Buffy is the most consistently good season of Buffy in my opinion.
I actually really liked season 1 of Angel, to me it felt like 1/3 Neo-noir detective, 1/3 Buffy spin-off and 1/3 Batman (because of Angel's lair-like apartment and grappling guns etc.
But I wasn't a huge fan of Angel's later seasons apart from season 5.
"Thank god you're here, I was planning to panic."
Sassy Giles is the best.
Silver is not a thing in BTVS. It has to be wood and it has to be through the heart. That has always been the lore for this show and they are consistent about this. Decapitation kills them too, just like fire and direct sunlight.
A silver bullet kills a werewolf and also kills another demon that Giles is familiar with.
and holy water, if consumed
Yeah silver is for werewolves, any kind of silver weapon will harm them, doesn't have to be a bullet.
Silver has never been weapon against vampires
Blade
One of my favorite bloopers for this show is the door of Balthazar's pool opening and showing the actor's legs.
He's screaming demands and a little hatch in his contraption falls open, showing his stockinged white tiny (aka human size) legs. So his screaming went, "𝗜 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗠𝗬 𝗔𝗠𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗧...𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒'𝓈 𝓂𝓎 𝓁𝑒𝑔𝓈 ٩◔‿◔۶ "
Also has the blooper where Eliza pulls the light out WITH the bow
Yep you said it. Was thinking the same thing when watching this reaction!!!!
LMFAO at Spidey correcting Rana and the group 😂😂😂 "It does" It's the deadpan for me. Definitely one of my favorite Normies. Yeah this is definitely where the season takes a turn. The characters on this show go places in terms of development and I cannot wait for yall to see it. Season 3 is one of my favorite season next to Season 5 (which I consider to be the best season) and The Mayor is probably the most charismatic villain. Have always liked him. Also Wesley has officially entered the Buffyverse👏 For those of us who know...we know.
They told Giles that he was going to be the watcher of Buffy and Faith, so when they replaced Giles they just decided to stick with one Watcher rather than having a separate Watcher for each.
Also fun fact, Alexis Denisof is nor actually British, he is American and he went to school in England and is just incredibly good with the accent due to his time spent there. Same with James Marsters (the actor who plays Spike) he is actually not British either, he just has a really good accent
FYI - The UK is still part of Europe. Europe is a continent, like North America. You're thinking about the European Union, which isn't the same thing. I always thought it made sense to have one Watcher for both Slayers when they are both in the same place, working together.
It's interesting to see TheNormies at the beginning of this video being all cheery and hopeful. And 'us' knowing they have no idea where this train is going.
Im glad yall acknowledged Faith was lying when she said she didnt care. Alot of people think she ment it.
Yeah some people like to diss the Normies but they are more perceptive on some of the more important things!
Buffy official vampire killing lore: any kind of decapitation, sunlight, fire, holy water (less effective, had to trick a vampire into drinking it for the only confirmed fatality on the show), pierce heart with wooden implement.
This is where all the Faith stuff gets really interesting... also I don't think we ever find out if the assistant was still evil or if he was going to turn against the mayor, just a cool morally grey choice the show makes, I dig it.
OMG. Pat's realization; "Goddamit" = PRiCELESS!!! That dude just keeps on delivering and don't even know it.
I also enjoyed Chris and Spidey asking "How?" in unison.
@@Xhalph Yeh, 😀
Chris is one of the goats on this channel and he kinda reminds me of a teacher I had in Jr. High. Mfka was wise as sht.
Gwendoline was never Faith's watcher. She was removed long before Faith. Giles was instructed to watch over both Faith and Buffy until a new watcher could be sent for Faith and then he was fired.
FYI:
Alexis Denisoff (Wesley) played “The Other” (Thanos’ right-hand man) in the Avengers (2012) and was killed by Roman in Guardians.
Honor system, means the teacher left while they take the test.
That whole Faith asking Buffy if she was wet part had me dying 🤣
Entering vintage Buffy with this episode.
23:37 same answer as 90% of the time: Buffy did it first
This episode aired in 1999. Blade was released the year prior.
@@jp3813 Damn it, you're spoiling my misinformation!
Wesley is here. Oh boy it just gets more and more awesome from here.
Please note some real world events actually influenced when some of these episodes aired. The tragedy at Columbine happened the week before Ep 18 was supposed to air. The episode was pulled and not aired until the following September. Part 2 of the season finale did not air until July. I will not spoil the episode, but it was the right choice to pull it. When they aired episode 19 I think they did a little recap of anything that affected the story.
I remember that, as it did air here in the UK (although we may have been a few weeks behind you, I can't remember) and people in the US still hadn't seen it.
Chris is the only one that gets how power structures work lol
The ways to kill a vampire:
-Wooden stake (yes, it must be wood, but could technically be anything wooden through the heart)
-Decapitation by any means
-Fire
-Sunlight (they can stand it momentarily, but it sets them on fire.)
-Downing holy water (being splashed with it just burns, as does touching crosses)
It has to be a wooden stake through the heart
The curse still comes into question 😅. This is already touched on in the show by this point. 100% this---> Willow used the same exact curse to restore his soul, and it has the same consequences. A moment of "true happiness" will take his soul away again.
And because it can never be repeated enough, just having sex is not enough to constitute "true happiness". If you notice when Angel lost his soul the first time, it wasn't during sex, but in that post-nut afterglow where he was simply holding the girl he loves. That was his true happiness.
Greetings! 🖖
Alexis & Alyson! After, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" & "Angel", they both ended up in the long running "CVS" sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother". She is the full-time role, "Kindergarten Teacher/Amateur Artist-Painter Lily Aldrin" & her doppelganger, "Russian Exotic Dancer Jasmine". He is in the part-time role of, "News Anchor Sandy Rivers". I don't know what he's doing now, but she is still the hostess they call "host" in the series on, "The CW", titled, "Penn & Teller: Fool Us". A reality competition show for aspiring stage magicians.
Aha! A story arc developed for, "Buffy & Faith", that was aborted once someone noticed that their actress, Alyson Hannigan, looks just like the trope of what an, Irish Witch, looks like! (I'll stop there!) 😁
This is one of the reasons Ted, an episode from season 2, is so important to the slayer verse. It set the groundwork for this episode. Buffy is the slayer and judge of the underworld, but that episode showed that the slayer's authority doesn't spread to the human world. This is somewhat backed up in Lie To Me where she didn't kill Ford until he chose to become a vampire. In Ted, when Buffy thought she slayed an actual human, she turned herself over to the human justice system to be judged.
So, yes, it very much does matter that Faith slayed a human. Also, in Lie To Me, it focused on how heroes in the Buffyverse make themselves heroes based on the choices they make. Buffy chose to turn herself in for judgement. How Faith chooses to move forward will seriously impact whether she's a hero or if she's a villain. So, the stakes are kind of high.
Such an awesome season. We got episodes where Giles is having sex on a cop car and Xander is racing around town with zombies and then we have a mistakenly killed human threatening to unravel everything.
Plus, this season has barely started getting good.
Wow, y'all actually picked up on the tension. Hell yeah.
PS: "Willow", is a tree. "Lily" & "Jasmine", are flowers. All, Flora! Funny coincidence! 🤓
That batman beyond reference was perfect because I always thought the same thing when I saw that dancing scene when I was younger it reminded me of that BB intro
Mark 18:55. Okay. My smartphone rebooted a few times while I was writing something about the meaning of, "Invincible", and by coincidence, it happened as my dog, Shadow, was wanting my undivided attention. He derailed that train of thought. But at the end I was writing about how there's been British warships named, "HMS Indefatigable" and "HMS Invincible", but not, "HMS Invulnerable". ⚓
Mayor is the big bad for Season 3 the Demon warned them about. Buffy rules for Vampire killing - Wood thru the heart (stake, pencil, etc.), Decapitation (any weapon), Direct Sunlight, and Holy Water taken internally or used extensively enough, and Fire.
“RIP OFF HIS KNEECAPS!!!” is probably the scariest thing I could abruptly hear in that situation.
This second half the season is where the season is kicked into gear! Love some Faith!
This is still my favorite season of Buffy and this is where it gets really interesting!
This devolution of Faith will totally pay off in ways you can't imagine yet! Also, the meraviglia Marketa's expressions were so cute! Rana looked fab in the orange! Yeah, never thought about it before, but your discussion on Cordelia and Xander - yeah, I totally get this layer of Cordelia being conservative despite her reputation.
All I will say about the Wesley character is that he has one of the most amazing character arcs in TV history.
Def one of my top 3 characters
One hundred percent, one of the best characters in the buffy verse
My favorite Buffyverse character
Agreed, and you'd never expect it based on how he got started.
When you start off as lame as Wesley does, you certainly have a lot of room for improvement!
the stabbing in the heart thing, it must be through the heart, and it must be made of wood. Arrows work, even with metal tips, because the rest of of the arrow is wood. The metal tip just gets the arrow in there.
It definitely has to be wood in the heart in this universe. Silver is used in Blade and True Blood and I'm sure some others.
When Faith showed up, she said her watcher had been killed by a vampire, the one with cloven hands, that Faith and Buffy killed in that ep.
How to kill a vampire;
1. Decapitation
2. Wooden stake through the heart
Things that hurt vampires:
1. Crosses
2. Holy Water
Silver is for werewolves
Bad Girls was a watershed episode where all what we suspected of Faith comes to fruition. We see her influence on Buffy leading her down the wrong path. Buffy as we know is very much a good person, and rejects this way, but Faith does the ultimate betrayal blaming and implicating her in the death of The Deputy Mayor, when as we know it was all her fault due to her psychotic behaviour. The introduction of Wesley, although disliked by fans at first, adds great comedy moments throughout, and is many fans favourite character from the entire Buffyverse.
Omg you guys are reacting to this!!! We just started watching in (outside of reacts) that’s so funny 😂
The mayor is such a great character.
Now that you've met Wesley you *have* to watch Angel - for three reasons: (1) Alexis Denisof is great on the role, (2) the character's story arc is amazing, and (3) you'll get to hear the greatest (and saddest) line ever uttered on TVland.
I swear. 19:23 until you all start laughing is the reason why I love your channel so much. Hilarious
Stakes have to be wooden, decapitation with anything. Fire, holy water, crosses. Sunlight
6:38 I thought Pat said she's getting traumatized, you know cause she died by drowning, but thanks for the subtitles☠☠
Mark 20:06. I've been watching other people playing, "Elder Scrolls", games for their first time. To me, it seems like a video game problem carried over into, fictional Faith's Real Life, in which you get carried away due to lack of discipline, and kill a bystander. It shows how much better, Buffy's training, has been! 👍
This is why the Mayor is my favorite Big Bad. He's unabashedly evil to the point he makes me laugh (in a good way). (Followed closely by season 6 Big Bad.)
so, you're the one who likes the season six big bad. :'D
@@writingalias4401 they would be talking about a different one, technically there’s two
@@cchase1282 oh, i know, I was just being funny. :D
I love how he is like a germaphobe sitcom Dad while also being evil. That combo is just entertaining.
Def my fave big bad too.
This is gonna haunt her for sure till Season 8
This is the part of the season everybody has been waiting for you guys to get too. NOW THIS IS THE PURPOSE OF FAITH'S CHARACTER BEING BROUGHT INTO THIS SHOW!!! So much character development in the rest of the season. You needed the early episodes to get Faith.
Xander needed an earlier episode to get faith at least

"Would you like me to lie to you now"?
I lose it everytime Marketa hits us with the spring breakers reference
Mark 11:11. Rana, doing the cute accent while saying, "Fat Bastard"! 👍
Aha! Now, was this episode made before, during, or after the movie, "Wrong Turn"? 🤔. Instead of individual years, now I just remember the, 1990s, as a decade. Having the same job for then, just makes it even more so. My time at, "Pizza Hut". It's all blending together, as per what the movie, "Inside Out", taught us. 😳
Faith would know that for an arrow to be effective, the shaft could not be a polymer.
...and yes, I DID word that carefully.
Mark 11:31. Chris! Wrong type of store for stealing, "shit"! You go to a, farm supply store, or a, lawn and garden store, to literally be able to steal that substance! 😁
I'll never get how no one puts a single bit of blame on Buffy just because she wasn't the one who stabbed the guy. They're working together the entire way in the ally, she THROWS him to the side for faith to stab just like the others because she wasn't paying attention either until literally the last second. Faith doesn't know how to deal with it for sure, but its not like it couldn't have been Buffy.
"Become invincible" - ✔️!
Faith: I say we take em all, now, hard and fast
Spidey: Giddy.
Me: hahahahahahahahahahaha
We're knee deep into season 3 and Rana still calls Giles Guiles and they still don't know how vampires work. At this point its just too funny.
Mark 9:32. SMG, did the girl-on-girl thing in a previous movie and won an award for, "Best Kiss", or whatever, "MTV", calls it. 😘 The other girl, now has a disease that made her retire early. 😥😢
Selma Blair. She and SMG are close friends.
@@Madbandit77 , yes thank you! Selma Blair's, story is so sad. I still haven't seen that movie yet, though I have the, DVD, of it. I did see the award presentation and the kiss reenactment, though.
When subtext becomes text
Wood in the heart, decapitation by any means, fire, sunlight will end any vampire in the Buffyverse
Loved the reaction to this episode I can’t wait for more reactions
Through the heart, it has to be wooden. That comes into play later in Angel.
Sweet Wesley
Welcome to the best character arc in the entire Buffyverse. #WWP
Wesley stans unite!
this was definitely the episode that solidified me shipping buffy & faith. don't judge my toxic tastes! i was like 9 years old lol
Balthazar reminded me of Pearl from Blade.🤣
My theory about the teacher not proctoring the test is that with the mortality rate for Sunnydale teachers some of them are working multiple classes.
is it really that rare in the US? I have had teacher less tests back when I was in school ages ago.
Want, Take, Stab an innocent. It was really the original (and superior) Eat, Pray, Love
Yes
Gwendolin was a fake watcher . She was real watcher in the past . BUT , in the episode she was fake watcher NOT sent by the council.
OMG... i forgot westley was in buffy!
What Pat isn't understanding is that, accident or not, Faith's actions afterwards (especially the last line of the episode, and dumping the deputy mayor in the river) are what divide manslaughter from murder. This isn't one of those situation to argue legalities on. It was a crime no matter how you view it. Faith committed a crime full stop. Manslaughter is considered just as crime worthy as murder. Her actions afterwards will not only play a part in how she would be charged if caught, but also in how the Scoobies view her. The look on Buffy's face at the end shows that.
Balthasar was referencing The Mayor in terms of worse than him.
Watch the X-Men: Evolution dance everybody. 😁
Is that how it works in the US? Over here dumping the body would be a separate crime from murder (the charge would be loosely translated as "crime against the sanctity of the grave"), manslaughter vs murder would be depending on the intent of the perpetrator and not due to any actions taken later and the sentencing differs a lot (involuntary manslaughter has a maximum penalty of 6 years while murder can get you life in prison). Just interesting how different the different jurisdictions are :)
@@Henrik_Holst Dumping the body _is_ a separate crime in the USA, also. I was talking more along the lines of Pat's confusion, just after the episode ends, as he was assuming the morality of the situation, without taking into account the legality of any of it. What the law says is Faith is going to jail for manslaughter, and because she dumped the body another charge would be added. What the Scoobies don't get is Faith's emotional state. That was my point based off Pat's confusion. I'm not sure what the penalty in California would be, but whatever sentence it would have been would increase from involuntary manslaughter to having the ADA assume manslaughter or murder with Faith because of the foresight to move the body.
Did they ever say if they were going to watch the show in order time is getting close to the split into angel
long time Buffy fan, and a straight woman; I am convinced that Buffy and Faith had a romantic relationship behind closed doors (no cameras) in this episode. There is SO much evidence.
I believe they did in the BtVS comic.
Side note: Britain/UK is in Europe, Europe is a geographical destination. The UK left the European Union, a political grouping and trading bloc. Not saying the normies don't know this, just explaining incase others are confused.
"BALTHAZAR!!" I love that 1 normie gets all Charmed references
I feel like the watcher counsel doesnt see Faith as THE slayer I think they as buffy's understudy? So Wesley is there to be "their" watcher but I think theyre just glad to have a back up in case they want to do another lethal, pointless trial.

Are they watching angel aswell?
I think they are, but not 100 percent certain
Growing up I watched this with my mom. She said that if the situation was reversed and someone yelled at Buffy to stop she would’ve.
