GWT Courtney does a great job of explaining the differences between a standard flail mower and offset mower. The key when looking at an offset or boom type mower is to size the mower to the tractor. Oftentimes, an operator wants to put a larger mower on a tractor because he/she wants to cut a wide swath. This is the wrong approach....the mower must be sized to the tractor so as to not throw off the center of gravity and potential unsafe tractor operation. Thanks for this introductory video on Flail mowers.
💥 Flail mowers are fantastic! Like you I’ll never go back to a brush hog either. A flail mower can handle more than people think. *Keep on tractoring!*
Bought an offset-tilt last spring from a different manufacturer. I have on a new holland powerstar 65. 78 inch. These are great for under trees and trimming back bike trails as well as field mowing.
Great video! Can you help me with something? We are transitioning our grass lawn over from grass to plants which support pollinators. The main plant we're trying to encourage is creeping thyme and others whose flowers are about 9 inches off the ground. We want to keep other high grasses and trees under control but don't want to cut off the flowers of the thyme or they won't reseed. To do this could require a cutting height of about 8-10 inches. You showed that you can get increased cutting height by contracting the top link (video at 4:22 - which appears to also raise the roller and skid plate off the ground). Why couldn't you get even more cutting height by raising the 3-point hitch as well as contracting the top link? The centurion mower seem to be able to cut well even at 90 degrees (where neither the roller or skid plate are not touching the ground at all) - so I wonder if the Funny Top can cut ok, and get a better cutting clearance off the ground, if the 3 point hitch and top link were at their highest setting. I see many points in the video where you've raised the 3-point hitch to back up or to get over an obstruction. Can't you also cut in the position? Thank you!
Nice thing about a flail mower is, unlike a brush cutter, debris (or other more lethal stuff) isn't flung out...also, a flail gives a somewhat better cut
Always wondered how these compare to a finish mower, looks like they're a good alternative to a rough cut,. Extended out would be awesome to mow around trees or along a pond bank!
Looking into a flail mower for our JD 3720. We have ditch lines, fence lines and tree lines in addition to our pasture and yard. I would love the Centurion because of the hydraulic offset but wondering if it would be too much for our 44hp tractor? Not sure we have an extra hydraulic connection so we would have to look into that as well
Great videos on the flail mowers. I have a JD 4052R and looking to also purchase a JD 1025R. Would a smaller flail (largest one the 1025r could handle) be compatible with the 4052r? will the I match on my 4052r fit a 1025r? Sorry if you have. Covered this in prior videos. Thanks!
Italian jd 1026r owner here No, we don't use quick hitches at all, when we tried to speak about buying one with the salesman at the dealership he didn't even know what we were talking about. I think that is because basically no compatible implements reach our market, so we buy implements made here in italy where QHs are non existant.
Thank you for your order Tony! Trying to ship things out within a few business days. We're blessed to be busy and the 10% off sale has really upped the sales, so it's taking a little longer than it normally would. Look for tracking information soon!
2 questions I'm hoping you or someone here can help answer: 1. My flail has 2 top link spots. One is just a hole for a pin, the other is slotted. Which should I be using and why are they there? 2. Are those neat hose end holders available separately? I'd LOVE to have those on mine!
Ditto for me...been considering one for over a year to do my ditch banks and sides of a few decorative mounds on my property.....and then double duty for mowing the horse pastures to pulverize the manure
Hello, do you sell a flail mower that will work more towards heavy duty/daily use and something that can handle 75 PTO horsepower? I see your videos all the time you seem to be real good guy if you have anything available I’d like to give you the business I’m out in California obviously would have to get shipped but I’m looking at other options other than the real high-end stuff through my dealer which is so expensive, I’m looking for something where there’s parts availability and I would probably purchase extra belts and extra set of blades anything you have really appreciate it, I’m kind of low tech I tried to look up through my cell phone on the web but couldn’t figure out how to access what you have available, thanks for the video👍
I have Kubota L3302 (HST), which has 33 HP and 26 PTO HP. I'm trying to decide between 52" Funny Super or 52/62 Centurion Super. My tractor would handle Funny Super easily; however, for just a bit more, it seems like Centurion Super is a much beefier option. My primary concern is that Centurion Super would be pushing the limits of my tactor -- thoughts? On Del Morino website, they're listing HP requirements as 15-60 for Centurion Super at the bottom of their product page for it, but at the top of that page it shows HP 30-70, just like your website's spec sheet image.. Is Del Morino understating requirements on their website (at the bottom) or am I misunderstanding something?
Oh, by the way... the reason I want to get a beefier version is that I have a lot of live oak in my area and sometimes it's difficult to spot old limbs in tall grass. Centurion may handle that better.

Looks like if it were quick hitch compatible you would loose a lot of side shift capability. Looks like the hoop where the 3pt pins are located is larger than normal so the pto shaft has room to move left to right. Looks really neat though!

Like the idea of a flail mower over a brush hog. May be on my Christmas list! Thanks for sharing!

Great informative video Courtney!
You do a great job, organized, get a lot if info in short time, great job.
Hi Courtney,
Can it run in the up right position? To hit higher brush or branches along the edge of a trail.
How do you prevent flat tires cutting brushy material
Hello Bro!! The brush cutter and Flail mower which one is better?
Are those mowers available in Ireland
I need a flail mower!, maby I should pick one up when I pickup my stump bucket...
That diverter looks awesome I had no idea that existed.
Is the height of cut adjustable- I would want to keep the cutters out of the dirt for sure.
Which would you recommend for a series 2 john deere?

You guys have the Euro hitch though…which is like a better version of the Pat’s quick hitch.
Great video very informative as well. Only wish for quick hitch compatable. Have a good day,be safe Thx Tim
Courtney, We have an LS 4150 cat 1 and we need to mow ditch banks and pond banks. Which hydraulic mower width would you recommend.
What’s the ship time on a funny top? I ordered a 62 in because your videos made me jealous. Good bye brush hog and finish mower!

Just bought my Vrisimo, talk about heavy duty and made in the USA
What Centurion model would be the right size for a 2038r? With the two hydraulic pistons.
Ditto for me...been considering one for over a year to do my ditch banks and sides of a few decorative mounds on my property.....and then double duty for mowing the horse pastures to pulverize the manure
Are you able to switch between hammer and y blades or are you stuck with what you bought?
Most flail mowers can alternate.
They can be swapped but it would be a time consuming project.

I have a 03 JD 4310 with no rear remotes. Would a flail work? And can I cut at 5”-6” high? Thank you and good job.
I was wondering if this manufacturer has one setup for a skid steer using hydraulics?
Thank u !

Would a 2032 handle the bigger mower centurion
What's up with the funky dongle hanging out the back of the gearbox on the centurion? (yes, 'dongle' is a technical term)
Looks like a cover for an unused output shaft. Probably a gearbox that's used on several implements in the manufacturers lineup.
I like the Del Morino but I don't like that you can't use it with the iMatch Quick Attach System.

👍
These ARE quick hitch compatible if you use a Pats quick hitch.
Does this guy not know about the Pats hitch?!!
Pat's Quick Hitches have their use. Very few applications that they're more useful than a quick hitch. Do you not know that?
Flail mulching
Flail mower, why does it sound so medieval? But not saying its not cool.
