The dead buttons was the fix on this. Keypad had two dead numbers. No other video's mentioned this fix. Thank you so much. You saved me $90 to buy a replacement
This is the second video I watched and the first one that fixed the problem. Some of the buttons didn't work, unbeknownst to me. This video had me step through all the numbers to see which didn't work. Good choice. Thanks very much.
After watching your video, I figured out that some number buttons on my keypad were not working. I replaced the keypad and all is well; a simple fix. I could not find another video that suggested this fix, so kudos to you!
Watched a bunch of different videos that couldn’t give me the answer. Turns out it was the left side of the keypad that was not functioning. Changed the code to numbers on the right side of the keypad and voilà - worked like a charm. Thank you for the video!
Nice video - i took mine apart and cleaned the contacts which helps too. Thats what I was hoping you were going to demonstrate instead of just buying a whole new unit. Better to take the unit inside and in a dark area where you can see the keys light up too. I am all about safety too but there is absolutely nothing in this video that requires gloves or eyewear for safety. Thanks for posting

We watched probably 50 videos. This was the first one that talked about checking the buttons to see if the light came on. BINGO! one side of the panel was dead and that's why we couldn't reprogram the keypad. Say what you will about the gloves and safety glasses, this guy helped!!!
I saved $79 + tax because I didn't need to buy a new key pad. Problem was a dead number key. I cleaned the unit and reprogrammed with a new 4 digit code. Works like new! Thanks.
Came home from and event this afternoon, and the keypad would not work. Borrowed a brand new battery from my neighbor still no go. After multiple attempts door finally opened. I found this video and immediately discovered on my keypad The zero button did not work. Changed my pin and all is well. Thanks for the fix! Saved me $40 for a new one.
Awesome dude thank you very much! Most all the other ones on RUclips don’t show that you have to push the keypad individually to see if it works! Dummy me I should’ve checked that in the first place! Thank you very much
Thanks for the video. it helped me figure out that my code I have been using was no longer working because a couple of the numbers were not lighting up. I changed my code using numbers that did light up and it works now.
I suspected it was my battery, but I wanted to watch a fix-it video just in case I’m glad I did because you had mentioned after changing the battery test the keypad to make sure that it lights up and while the old battery was still good, the keypad was not lighting up so after changing the battery, everything worked fine so that was a good instructional tip to make sure that the keypad lights up after you change out the battery. So while the old battery was still had some charge, it wasn’t enough to activate the keyboard or the remote sensor so changing out the battery fixed my issue.
Finally a self-help video that gets right to the point and doesn't skip over the important points so that you have to rewind and stop to understand it. Granted this is simple.
Quick question, for mine the battery was replaced very recently (and checked), the keypad also lights up at least for every number of the code, and yet it still will not open the garage. Is there anything else I could check it try to attempt to fix it? Portable garage openers do work if that adds anything
I’m going through the same thing. It’s so strange. Remote works just fine, but it will not open with the keypad. Wth? No one seems to have an answer for this. So strange & incredibly annoying, as we only have one remote!
Mine does not work when it's below 50*. The lights come on when I hit ENTER to close (I open from inside unit) but nothing else. Any issues I can check when it's cold? Or just have a heating device handy?? Great vid
I discovered that one of my battery wires had come loose from the circuit board. The only way to get to the circuit board is to take the back off. That's the hard part. I used a thin blade and worked my way around the back until the back pops off. I don't think the back is supposed to ever come off but it's possible. I then soldered the loose wire to the circuit board, reassembled and all is well now. You need patience to do what I did. It's a PITA
Peter - same happened to ours. As you indicated, getting the back off was challenging -- thanks for the suggestion and tip about using a thin blade -- took me several minutes but I eventually released the back and found the red wire disconnected. Also found corrosion on the board and cleaned with CRC electrical cleaner and soldered on red wire. Our keypad was pretty beat up by Hurricane Ian.

Hi Todd, I recently replaced the battery in my liftmaster and now when the garage door is open and I hit the "Enter" button, it no longer closes unless I type the code in first. I know before replacing the battery I could just hit the "Enter" button and the garage door would close. Do you happen to know how to resolve this? Thanks!
Leigh M. I have experienced the same thing on my keypad. I replaced the batteries and it will no longer close when hitting the enter button alone. Sometimes I had to hit it twice and it would close, no code needed. Now if I open the door by the keypad, and when the keypad is still flashing it will close just by hitting enter. But once the keypad stops flashing it no longer works by just hitting enter. I see there has been no responses on a fix or an reason why this did it. If you gotten a response any other way please let us know. Thank You in advance.
