Thank you! I received a new keypad...and followed the directions perfectly. No dice. Luckily I found your video, and it worked like a charm. Quite a bit different than the Liftmaster directions. But very effective.
Kind of an off question. But, will my Chamberlian wall keypad (940EV-P2) open my Liftmaster 81602 garage door during a power outage? The garage opener has a battery back up installed - but wasn't too sure if or how the keypad and the opener will work together in the event of a power outage? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I cannot find any info regarding this...
Yes, as long as the backup battery is charged then your keypad will work just like your remote during a power outage. If you want to test it unplug your garage door operator and enter your PIN code on the keypad. - Brian
The 878MAX keypad in the video is the same as the 877MGX keypad, it's just a newer version. If you need to purchase one you can do so here: www.garagedoorzone.com/878MAX-Liftmaster-878MGX-Raynor-Keyless-Entry-Keypad_p_352.html If you need a compatible remote you can purchase the 893MAX Remote here: www.garagedoorzone.com/893MAX-893RGX-Liftmaster-3-button-Garage-Door-Opener-Remote_p_263.html
I have a lift master it has a red button on right side and a little box black box on left do I need to pry it open to see if there's a light on the left side it's in a black cover I don't know the make of it yet can I contact you tomorrow if I can't figure out

I have an 878MAX that was working fine, then I accidentally hit # instead of "enter" when trying to get in, and now my PIN doesn't work at all. The keypad just flashes whenever I try to enter the PIN properly.
I’ve replaced the battery, tried the methods on the keypad and on this video - and nothing seems to work. Why the hell would they make resetting a pin so difficult?
Yes you can. If you have two openers that you determined are compatible with the 878MAX Keypad then you can use one keypad for both openers. Follow the same steps for each opener and but use a different PIN number for each opener and it should work fine.
I'm assuming that you mean that your garage door operator has DIP switches instead of a Learn or Program button? The 878MAX keypad is not compatible with DIP switch type of programming & is only compatible with Liftmaster/Chamberlain brand operators & radio receivers that have a Learn button.
You lost your car remote that was programmed to the same operator as the 877MAX keypad? If that's the case then you can purchase a new compatible remote here: www.garagedoorzone.com/893MAX-Liftmaster-3-button-Garage-Door-Opener-Remote_p_110.html
I'm replacing a 377LM with the 878 Max. I have a Liftmaster Model 3800PLD Opener and it's not programming. I've tried Method A and B multiple times . I got the Liftmaster 893 Max 3 button remote to work though , but can't get the Keypad to work . Any ideas?
You would need to use Method B for the Purple Learn Button. Why did you decide to replace the 377LM Keypad? Did it suddenly stop working or was it for another reason? Did you clear out the memory of the operator before trying to install the new keypad? That is something you could try. If you do so then you'll also need to reprogram any remotes that you had previously programmed into the operator.
@@Garagedoorzone It was just old and weathered. The cover was broke off and just sat on it. It was that way when we bought the house in December.. I did try to erase all codes by pressing the learn button for 6 seconds until light went off after I had tried to program it a few times . I'll try that again today and see it works . Thanks
@@Garagedoorzone I tried to clear previous codes , but remote still works. @@jeffbaker3354 Did you hold the Learn button on the garage door opener until the LED light next to it went out? If you did and the remote still works then there's something wrong with the radio receiver as that should clear out all of the remotes and keypad codes in the memory.

Did you try replacing the battery in the keypad? That would be my first suggestion.
My old liftmaster keypad has model 940C/67LC. Is the 878MAX compatable?
Yes, if your operator or radio receiver has a Green Learn Button then the 878MAX would be the correct replacement
@Garagedoorzone Thanks for the reply! Mine is red/orange. Having a hard time finding something that works with it.

Why mine is opening by it self? I see during the day my garage door opens
Does 878 max comes with the battery?
Yes, all of the new 878MAX Keypads come from the factory with a battery.
Can I add 2 codes to the 878MAX in order to open 2 lifts?
