These are absolutely gorgeous, Adrian. I just can't say this enough times - you are incredibly talented and your videos are great. I always get inspired watching you work.
Adrian I am so stoked by all of your videos! You videos almost make me fall asleep because the are so calm and therapeutic! Love your style! And the amount of care and detail you apply to your work is simply incredible!
Made one of these without using the miter block setup you used. Now find myself making the miter set up for a 22.5 and a 45 etc. Awesome techniques you have here.
Goos day. I was mesmerized by the whole kumiko series. It ddrew me in and set me in a peaceful state. Still I noticed your shooting board. this thing was amazing. Could you maybe provide plans or a video for that ?
Your videos are fantastic. You have inspired me to try and learn this style of woodworking. Do you have any suggestions on the must have tools to begin making the pencil boxes.
Hi Adrian! Again, beautiful handcraft! I love watching each of your videos! One question : when you are beveling pieces on your shooting board (let say the locking pieces for the lids of the small japanese boxes), you say to hold the pieces at an angle and try to match it … do you eyeball it or do you have a jig or a guide that we dont see in the video? Thanx and keep Well!😀
Thank you! I've managed to make both 3 in 3 days including filming which doubles or triple the time :) Except the Kumiko patterns which were made some weeks ago. Those take me like 2-3h each. Anyway, the average might be 1 per day, if I batch them at 3 to 6 pieces.
Thanks! Yes, they are Klik Ass :)) I have appreciated wrong the length and took the 30cm versions. They are ok even so, just too much unused bar staying in my way when clamping small stuff. But, it's a reason to buy a another set :)
Great work! I see you do not much using old small workbench. The new japanese shooting board is better suitable for small work like boxes ?It is much lighter than your old workbench,do you have issues wit it ?
Thanks! No issues at all, just too heavy :) In fact I plan to build the version 2.0 very soon, to incorporate the vise in the japanese planing board. Is just that for my type of work I barely use pieces wider than 15-20cm, and besides, the planing board has that edge planing rail, which is very used by me.
Yet another wonderful project! Thank you again for sharing your talent with us, and providing inspiration. Do you happen to have a link for your new marking gauge? I like the looks of it and seems you could get some very accurate marks with it.
You mean the walnut? They have at Holver but is 2.4k a cubic :) but they sell a single board too. Eu l-am luat din alta tara, dar tot asa pretul. Pe o cherestea de fix 0.1 mc am dat 230 euro
Hmmm thumb down 😅 Im joking 😄 Thanks for the straw trick too, simple but so effective ! unfortunately Europe is going to prohibit straws, I shoulda make a big stock of straws and q-tips before 😓 (q-tips will be ban in January 2019)
