Late to the party, but this is inspiring me to this a try, sized for Japanese pencils. Would have like to have seen how you go about cleaning the glue squeeze out from attaching the bottom to the frame.

Pretty cool. If you cut the ends of the sliding key flush, it will be like a puzzle box.
