    I recently drove over 3,000 miles crossing the country and in snow with my CX-9. The way she handles the snow is amazing. Of course, you need the right driver-vehicle pair for those conditions too, because it still takes some skills to drive in/on the white stuff. But my CX-9 got me through places I thought I would have had to call for help. Mazda did amazing with that one and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the CX-90! 😍

    The Highlander looks like a minivan to me & we didn’t want a hybrid. We wanted an SUV look so we chose the Palisades because the Tellurides just were too expensive or weren’t in stock. We love the cream white interior of the Palisade. My husband drives it alot for work & loves it.

    Helpful information. Well done. Where does the Honda Passport fall into the mix? With the great cargo space, 6 cylinder engine, a bit more height than the Pilot, and 2 rows I'm looking at it first. It sort of falls between the 4 cylinder 2 rows and the 3 row SUVs. Would love to see your take on it.

    • @carhelpcorner

      Yes I need to make a Passport video soon. I'm a huge fan of it. It is basically a 2-row Pilot which is great because you get tons of cargo space, great power and towing capacity from the V6 engine, and the same excellent reliability. It's an easy one to recommend.

Koreans are not proven as the Japanese who has been doing this successfully for many years. Plus I can work on the vehicles and know for sure that Honda and Toyota are more service friendly.

    We are typically a Honda family but we ran into a 2016 Mazda CX-9 signature and it surprised us quite a bit. It’s very luxurious with the burnt Orange leather and every detail in the cabin is lovely. Its torque is very strong and has great pickup. Things I’m not a total fan of is the infotainment system. It isn’t terrible but I’m not a fan of the dial to use it. If you aren’t wanting to spend 50k+ then find a decent used one. At least give it a shot with a test drive. I feel we don’t see more of them is because it isn’t marketed as heavily as the other suvs

      I've been impressed by dodge a few times over the years. The V6 P-body sedans in the 90s were a hidden gem and the newer RWD family they've made have been some of the best American cars available in terms of packaging and have even been reasonably reliable in my experience. But I just can't get over how much smaller the Durango feels inside compared to its size outside. I've been seriously considering a new Acadia due to the better interior design but would strongly prefer a RWD-derived platform like Durango is built from. I wish there was something on the market like that because Wagoneers are too expensive and now need to prove a new engine, to boot. Might just end up in a Tahoe instead.

    Mr. Prymak, I enjoy your videos very much but have a concern/question regarding the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade. From what I've read on the NHTSA website and others, the Telluride has a problem with easily breaking windshields and sunroofs. Some owners have reported their windshields breaking while driving without being hit by an object. Same with the sunroofs. This includes model years 2020-2022. Others have stated that even a slight hit on the windshield by a very tiny pebble has caused the windshield to either crack or shatter. It's been said that these windshields may be thinner than most and that may be the reason for these problems. Have you heard similar? I've also read that due to these problems, the NHTSA is getting ready to require a recall on the Telluride. As for the Hyundai Santa Fe, there is apparently a known noise issue with the front seat side windows/doors in the 2020 models, and that Hyundai has not found a solution for these noise issues which continue to be a problem in the 2021 and 2022 models. Apparently, the noise isn't bad on surface streets but can get extremely loud and annoying at high speeds on the freeway/highway. I'd be interested to hear your opinion on both of these issues as I'm in the market for a new mid-size SUV and both the Telluride and Palisade are on my list. Thank you in advance for any feedback you can offer!

    • @carhelpcorner
      @carhelpcorner  2 года назад +6

      Many car brands have had issues with shattering panoramic sunroofs over the years. The size seems to be the problem, but it is definitely not common enough to deter me from recommending them. The windshield is more unusual, but a recall would actually be a good thing because then Kia/Hyundai would take ownership of the problem and fix it at no cost without hassle. If you like these three I would lean towards the Palisade or Telluride. They feel more substantial than the Santa Fe and the V6 engine is much better than the sometimes problematic 4 cylinder engine in the Santa Fe. Of course, as I said in the video, the Highlander has the most well established reputation of the group.

    The Highlander’s strong suit is its sleek and sporty styling, although the 29-mpg is also nice. Also - the built-in dashboard shelves are neat. One downside is that it doesn’t have “auto lock”, which allows the doors to lock themselves after the driver walks away. Another “miss” is the 12.3” screen - it is beautifully crafted into the dashboard, but Toyota has big-time failed to make the best use of all that space.

    I honestly think that the Highlander has no business having a 3rd row. Same with the CX9. But, if it must have that 3rd row I don't think it should be in the same class as Pilot or Telluride. It should be inline with the Kia Sorento.

      I sat in the kia Sorento and that 3rd row is a joke, I also sat in the third row in the telluride and it's also tiny. If you want a third row for adults get the traverse, suburban, expedition or mini van. Toyota Highlander is way bigger than a Sorento!

      @@lordsknight4516 the difference in the telluride or palisade 3rd row, (atleast trims where 2nd row is captains chairs) is you can slide those seats forward a little and recline the 3rd row. Being 6 foot I was in the 3rd row over an hour and not cramped or sore when we stopped.

      I would buy the hybrid. The small price difference and the much better fuel economy make it a no brainer for me. Toyota makes the most reliable, well-proven hybrid systems on the market. Many Toyota hybrid taxis have hit 300,000 miles with the original battery and no issues.
