Here is my take…People come for the shoe review but stay because of you. Your personality, knowledge and creativity make this channel. I thoroughly enjoy the reviews you put out there but it’s not what keeps me engaged. I feel like we all get a glimpse of who you actually are and not some fake persona. I like people who are real and you sir, are as real as they come. Thank you.
Please don’t stop reviewing shoes!!! I value your shoe review opinions and thoughts more than any other fake shoetubers out there. I’m only one person, but I’m prettier sure there are a bunch of us out here.
I dont think you are advocating excessive consumerism with your review. You allow me to paint a complete picture of what would be good picks for me. Longevity is an important factor. I have 4 pairs of running shoes, but it will take me 4x as long to replace them. This 100-mile review leaves EVERY other shoetuber in the dust 💪
Your videos, for over a year now, are just a part of my morning routine. Wake up at 4 am, put my headphones on and start up the daily Supwell video before my run. I do love your opinion and insight on shoes, as I take it as the gold standard across the "shoutuber" world, but i welcome anything you post as your training insight is great as well! Even if my weekly mileage is your daily lol
Happy belated birthday to the shoe review don! We appreciate all that you do for the community. Whatever direction you decide to go with the channel, we got your back!
Wow! So impressed by your dedication! Thank you for this review (and all your reviews). Putting in the miles makes you a top trusted source for me in my annual running shoe hunt. You are one of the only reviewers who had the same experience as I did with the Superblast 1 which leads me to trust you even more. Amazing content, thank you.
Bro I turned on the video late when it dropped and kept it a nice low volume to help me sleep. When I woke up and got ready for my run, I ran the entire video back to watch it again but awake and able to fully pay attention. I dig your vibe and honestly I’ve been watching you for maybe three weeks and I’ve already adopted a lot of your approach (in terms of mentality towards running and training, not the number of miles. I’m a total beginner). Keep up the great work.
My goodness, already at 100 miles. Talk about putting in the work. About your thought on the reviews: I appreciate reviews but I appreciate your insight, the dedication and the training more. The shoes were just the gateway drug I think. Can’t wait for that vid after Chicago. Want to see how it went and your thoughts on the race.

Hang in there brother! I’ve bought several New Balance shoes, thanks in part to your reviews. I really enjoy your reviews and appreciate the hard work that must go into them. From one family man to another, you seem to be doing a good job balancing work and family life too. Keep up the good work!
i was opening the app to just see new shoes, but i have started to look around more. i tend to look before socials as well. might get into the conversations now. every conversation about shoes for sale has been super kind. doing good things, man.
Yowana, loving what you’re doing out there. The 1080 v13 has been my daily training partner here in Japan. Just wanted to let you know, I subbed for the realness in your videos. Everything from the honest reviews, the sweaty workouts, the struggles with the elements…moth gang, the wholesomeness with your family. (Shout out to Charles and the supwell kitchen!) On behalf of the MCG, we appreciate you brotha. Have a good one! We’ll see you tomorrow 🔥🔥🔥

Love your shoe reviews, please keep them coming, but of course at your own pace! I watch a bunch of shoe reviews, but yours for sure feel the most authentic. I appreciate that you put in the work in these shoes before you share a review. Most other channels and influencers seem to get 20-30 miles in and have audacity to say the shoe will be durable. Meanwhile you’re out here putting in 50-100 miles before you put respect (or disrespect) on a shoe. Your long form multi-run videos that show the wear on a shoe have been way more beneficial and don’t have a bias for or against a brand. It doesn’t feel as formulaic, but in a good way. Finally, big appreciation for you putting a 100 mile week in a cozy shoe like the 1080 deep into marathon prep! HBD to the shoe review king, and hope to see you in Chi Town!
I value the shoe reviews and your take, but it’s really just a medium for the running philosophy, vibes and shenanigans. That’s what I tune in for man! In particular the intra run musings
I’ve absolutely loved these shoe reviews. Watching these before bed for an hour or hour + has just felt so pure and refreshing like having a reviewer not only review shoes but tell us how these shoes actually fit into a hobby joggers life and I think we all are going through things and running for most of us isn’t everything despite doing 35-50 mile weeks, most of us are working or going to college or my case both. Your content has always been truly the best on this app and I truly appreciate everything you’ve done for the community. Thank you.
I can definitely see 100 mile reviews becoming a slog but I really enjoy them, and still think I would even if they weren’t done in one week “pushes” Love the content, def my favorite channel I’ve found this year
I realise that was a pain to do in the background with all your other training but I bow down to the 100 mile effort, it is very much appreciated. Keep doing what you're doing. The supwell app and the people on it are amazing. Always dipping in for a read.

Bro. This is nuts! Only 10:44 in and I'm excited. I've been bugging you about this shoe. I know you had to stay quiet but 100 mile review is so epic. 😂😂
Bro you can't remove the 100 mile review... you just don't have to commit to achieving it in a week. Just let it flow... wear what you feel like running during the day. We will wait 😊
I enjoy this channel, and will probably keep watching whatever you do, but I do appreciate your reviews, and I like that you don't just base your reviews off the original feel, but focus on how the shoes felt for longer miles. I also like some of your in-depth comparisons.
You’re out here with a 130 mile week and I’m pushing for a 130 mile year. But running is great because we need only complete with ourselves to be better. My first pair of 1080s are on the way. Thanks for all the good reviews.
I've been enjoying the 100 mile reviews, but also your 50s. I like the comparison videos a lot. I'd say 50 mile reviews and multi shoe comparisons are my favorite. I can't say theres videos by you I don't like. I suppose when I complete a rotation I'll probably watch less review orientated videos, but until then, I'm enjoying them a lot.
I'm late on this, but it's your channel so you should do what you want to do! I'll still keep watching and supporting. I do think you provide unique insights into shoes that no one else does based on your mileage. However, one thing I've learned is that shoes are so individualized. Sometimes your top shoes work for me and sometimes they don't. I hope you continue to do videos on training and other aspects, including maybe some training advice for us hobby jogger interns that don't do quite the high mileage!
As much as I love the channel and will watch, I do skip a lot of them because they're REALLY long and I have to jump around the timestamps quite a bit to find what I'm looking for. I can't say I have any actionable feedback but it wouldn't hurt to do a highlight of the content?
Awesome! Glad I didn’t jump on the Balos. These are going to be fire! Love the Knights game! You should check out the Cannon Ballers some time as well.
Sounds like the 1080v14 is an all-around better shoe for daily training, and one that fits more neatly into the NB line-up. But by firming it up, NB is turning the 1080v13 into the OG Peg Turbo or the Invincible 2 - a niche shoe that people wax romantic about for years after its release.
I should've talked more about this at the end but it's not that much firmer than the 13. Maybe a 5% to 7% difference - and if has a better rocker so for me feels like a good improvement. But you're right either way because nostalgia is a heck of a drug 😂
Great run..any shoe that can go the distance without going flat is a good one..especially without a plate and super foam high stack ..V12 was not good for me and I didn't try V13..I prefer fuel cell foams but they bombed the whole line with the rebel V4,elite V4 and sc trainer V4..hopefully they change everything except the foam..right now the hoka rocket x2,the NB elite V3 and the Puma deviate elite V3 are my best long distance racing shoes..great to have some cool mornings for running..summer is always a slog except for running into the lake or river at the end ..😅
Great review. Is this also great for bigger / force runners. I like a daily trainer that also is great for recovery / protect runs. Puma Magmax, glycerin max, hurricane 24 and this 1080. What to choice ? Any advice I prefer stable and more push me in medial or stay central. 860 was not my type.
Saw a womens pair in New Balance store, I compared the built and fit to the v13 that's in store and my early release 1080v13 (same color as yours), Why do I feel the V14 is overall just worse in its build all around? The upper feels cheap now. Also I hate that it's losing the pillowy plush "pull tab" at the back, I find that part both very comfortable and made the v13 not needing relacing to put on everytime.
Oh man! I habe a feeling you be reviewing it soon! I'm surpirsed! Let's go! 🔥🔥🔥 Would be cooler if they gave you the green one, looks better in my opinion. 100 mile review incoming
The look of these grew on me across the video. Hated the gradient on first reveal but kinda cool with it now. Thanks for putting in the work! I think your idea of 50mile reviews or even 30mile reviews made sense. Perhaps you’ll get more time to run in what you want and/or do more training content.
I think that colour is elegant and beautiful. Damn. Hope that one is released in Europe! I had the V12 btw, great and comfortable shoe. I didn't go for the v13 mainly because it was too expensive and the fact that you all mentioned how much sinking you experienced while running or walking... Not good for my psoas.
Happy birthday ! Keep doing great videos and 100 miles plus reviews, but no need to use the same shoes in the same week . Tell us the story of these accomplishments over time, over a period of a month or more and see how it compares to newer running shoes. According to what toy said in this video I will love these new v14s ! For me at size 9 ( 8.5 in some brands) it has the perfect weight ~275g for my taste, for cushioning or performance shoes . Yesterday I beat my PB training run course that I had the same time in a Adios 7 and Magic Speed 3. I beat my pb by 25 seconds using a Velocity Nitro 3 ! It also have the perfect weight ( ~275g)to balance comfort, performance, stability and, in this case the Grip to make me surpass my previous record done in much lightweight shoes.
It's hard to tell if you had to pick only one 1080 which one you'd get. Imagine you could get brand new ones forever but it had to be 13 or 14. You talked a lot about how great the last one was. Similar now for this one.
I think for daily casual use the V13 with its soft upper and less rocker will be better, it's great standing and long walking shoes. The V14 will be the better running shoes, but the full package that's 1080 feels so comfortable for some, me included.
@@brianway4240 Get the v14, the v13 is nearly perfect except for the unstability( lateral roll) even when walking , a deal breaker for me. I only use my v13 for treadmill (l love the v10, v11, and Mv4).
I've watched a few reviews now and they highlight the same key differences with the increased firmness. That said, most believe that the increase in versatility increase is minimal so it doesn't change the use case. The down side, the comfort of the v13 is what made it special and the 14 has lost some of that. I'd say get v13 at a discount if you can.
Thanks for putting in that work and busting at another quality video. I’m a fan of your channel because of your honesty and real mileage opinion on these shoes. Im enjoying the supwell app too. As someone newer to running, I would be interested to hear more content about your programming and general running advice. How do you manage injuries? What would you recommend to first time marathoners? What gear do you use? The shoe reviews are great but I’m sure you have a lot of training experience to offer as well. Keep doing you and people will come along for the ride.
One more thought on the 100 mile reviews! I think people enjoy the 100 milers for those popular new releases because it gives a deep perspective so quickly but if they are too much work maybe save them for the most popular shoes or shorten it to a 50 mile reviews. I usually wait for older models to go on sale but this video gave me confidence to buy the latest model since you stress tested it so thoroughly.
I can't believe you've put in 100 miles already! People are putting out first run reviews haha. A question about fit. How is the length different? If the v13 was an 11 and the v14 you're wearing is 10.5, does that mean the v14 is a longer shoe?
No the fit is similar - I got an 11 only because my feet were swollen/beat up when I bought them lol I got the v13 the day after a half marathon PR last year. I would go true to size in the v14
Do you feel like the toebox might be a bit more forgiving than the v13? I loved how the v13 felt overall, but I could always feel my toes hitting the top of the shoe making it sort of uncomfortable, (no matter what size I tried). As always, thanks for your review!
@Yowana bro your reviews on shoes are hitting and all the other stuff is hitting. Don’t change anything up honestly don’t change a thing. Bro, we all love you.
Long but great shoe review! Thanks for the review will definitely buy the v14, unfortunately up to now 1080v14 is not yet available in Singapore even on their online app... so sad 😮💨 So I guess this will be my best shoe for 2025 😅
Sounds like we are hearing a little bit to much about how this shoe is "a little bit firmer" which means it is noticeably firmer, or reviewers wouldn't keep making mention of it. They just got everyone used to the 13, now we are back to the 11-12 version with a bit more softness which is what they should have done with the 13 instead of completely changing the ride. Now that everyone has gotten used to the 13 and either loved or hated it, we are back to "boring". There are way to many shoes in this segment that are more exciting than this shoe. The 13 gave it something a bit different, a bit more unique for the 1080 line. Now although this seems like a well made shoe, as New Balance always does, it just doesn't have any type of "Wow" factor with a market full of daily trainers all trying to differentiate themselves from one another by coming to the market with something more unique, and dare I say, Fun. This is pass for me as I have already found a place for the 13's in my line up, and will grab a pair of the Balos, just to try something new from New Balance, instead of the old "Tried And True" 1080 here. Lastly, your videos reviews are Epically long form, which is unique in the running world but, those long B roll sections of grass and the weeds in your garden, could be chopped down a bit, just saying.
I personally dig the detailed reviews but I maybe be in the minority that appreciates and uses the time stamps to skip around. I'm just a typical busy youtube watcher so I skip all of the personal stuff (except the occasional coffee edit section ciz I'm am a specialty coffee addict as well lol). The other stuff may be lived by bothers but I don't have 45 minutes to an hour and a half to watch your whole morning and run. The time stamps allow me to self edit what I take in. TLDR the reviews are great, I just like em shorter (quality over quantity) so I use the time stamps. You're a grinder and I appreciate that and your reviews!
You have quickly become my favorite youtuber! Loving the long videos! I listen to your videos on my runs, workouts, during my commnute. How does the 1080 v14 compare to the More v5's? Is it even worth to buy 1080 v14s when i already got the More v5?
Thank you! Short answer is that they are very similar in feel with both being super soft - i wouldn't add the 1080 unless you're replacing the more. Main difference is the 1080 has a little more ground feel. I also went in depth on that comparison in the new balance overview I did last week My 5 Favorite New Balance Shoes & 2024 Running Lineup Overview ruclips.net/video/_57K-NIYJmQ/видео.html
I wanted to love the 1080v14 but the fit was so narrow and tight and after about 140 miles it’s beyond unstable. They really do remind me of the epic react 2 that we had back in the day. I wish these were a lil firmer and more stable and a little more responsive. These are a great recovery day 2-3 miles easy these sing but size up like at least 1/2 a size or get a wide. Attempted to do my long run 8.5-10 miles in these and was just to soft.
I do enjoy the shoe reviews but there are different ways to do them. If you have other things to say or you don't want to do so many, you can do more depth, without trying to review every shoe that comes out. EdBudd often puts out yeah or ney videos about which shoes he plans to review, based on his preferences.
I have the 1080 v12 and I just dont think the foam feels that good. I love the NB designs but will need to test them in a store before buying another pair.

I should've talked more about this at the end but it's not that much firmer than the 13. Maybe a 5% to 7% difference - and if has a better rocker so for me feels like a good improvement. But you're right either way because nostalgia is a heck of a drug 😂
Looks like another New Balance shoe I'll be getting.
Happy birthday BANG
Thank you! 🫡
I have fun every time I put my Saucony Guide 17 on!

Love the Camber callout 🤜🤛
1:07:45 omg that was adorable. Spelling out the last name - love these candid moments you capture with your family, bro.
this is peaking my interest to replace my rebel v4
I’ve been running in the 520 v7 actually have 2 pairs when they’re both done looking forward to an upgrade till then putting in absolute WORK
Saw a womens pair in New Balance store, I compared the built and fit to the v13 that's in store and my early release 1080v13 (same color as yours),
Why do I feel the V14 is overall just worse in its build all around? The upper feels cheap now.
Also I hate that it's losing the pillowy plush "pull tab" at the back, I find that part both very comfortable and made the v13 not needing relacing to put on everytime.
Oh man! I habe a feeling you be reviewing it soon! I'm surpirsed! Let's go! 🔥🔥🔥
Would be cooler if they gave you the green one, looks better in my opinion. 100 mile review incoming
The look of these grew on me across the video. Hated the gradient on first reveal but kinda cool with it now. Thanks for putting in the work!
I think your idea of 50mile reviews or even 30mile reviews made sense. Perhaps you’ll get more time to run in what you want and/or do more training content.
hahaha yeah i agree - that pop of color grew on me too. and thanks for the feedback re: mileage reviews. will def be getting more 50 mile reviews up
I think that colour is elegant and beautiful.
I'd say get v13 at a discount if you can.
love the videos, excited to see whichever way you take the channel
Highly informative.
Thank you!
Ha! I used to run early morning downtown laps around knight stadium!
Dude HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sweet fam!
Thank you guy! 🙌🏽
You got a sub man

For casual daily wear would you recommend balos, v13 or v14?
20k subscriber alert - congrats Yowana! Also, happy belated birthday!🪓🪓
@Yowana bro your reviews on shoes are hitting and all the other stuff is hitting. Don’t change anything up honestly don’t change a thing. Bro, we all love you.
Thank you sir! 🫡🙌🏽
Plus don't stop drop those bars!
The 100 miles is needed to see if the shoes bottom out or get more comfortable or bottom wear out faster with the more miles you put on it.
I feel like this is similar to the novablast 4 and supernova prima?
Long but great shoe review! Thanks for the review will definitely buy the v14, unfortunately up to now 1080v14 is not yet available in Singapore even on their online app... so sad 😮💨 So I guess this will be my best shoe for 2025 😅
Wow, 1080 getting thrown around as "favorite shoe of the year" already. Rest in Peace Skyward X
JEFF!! 😄
@@pamelawamala6751 in the flesh! Kinda! 🤣🤣
@@JeffHardyyyyy 😆🤣😆
Hahaha favorite daily trainer. I put the skyward x in a category of its own with that $225 price tag
@@supwell thats fair!
How do you compare to the Brooks Ghost Max 2, Glycerin Max, and Glycerin 21? for running and walking?
Happy belated birthday, OG! How old did we turn??
From a size 11 in v13, now back to size 10.5 in v14 (my true to size) your recommendation? Thanks!
I also went in depth on that comparison in the new balance overview I did last week My 5 Favorite New Balance Shoes & 2024 Running Lineup Overview
ruclips.net/video/_57K-NIYJmQ/видео.html
Supwell Kitchen App?
Supwell Kitchen Orders?
Stay tuned?
Aesthetically I’m not enjoying the writing on the back of the heel new balance have started doing for their new models. Might be alone in that tho
It would be a shame for me if you drop the reviews, but its more important you feel good with what you are doing.
Happy birthday!!
Thank you!
im curious about running them in the summer. what are your thoughts as the cushioning seems to be pretty thick. im afraid it might heat up
I have the 1080 v12 and I just dont think the foam feels that good. I love the NB designs but will need to test them in a store before buying another pair.
Better than the SL2?
I had a pair of 1080 Boston Marathon edition....paid $35.
Would you say the V13’s are true to size? I had to size down from 10 to 9.5 in the V12’s.
Yes true to size in the v13 and v14!
