Couple of important things about this board: 1. The Wifi supports only 20, 40 and 80 MHz channels and not 160 MHz channels which some of the new WiFi 6 routers support. 2. The VRM is upgraded compared to the non-Wifi Tomahawk board but the Wifi version loses one 1G ethernet/LAN port
Looks like a nice hard drive Thanks for sharing this with us, You definitely help us understand computers better and how they work and how easy it might be to put together,,,💥👍💥🙏🏻 Happy new year's dennis, God bless you my friend by for now ken
Purchased this MB, yust without WiFi. I had to update bios so it can recognize Ryzen 5600X... Lucky they make bios update easy without CPU, memory or GPU, yust power supply and MB :)
@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM I've had zero issues with mine and love the MSI bios layout. I was previously running the 5800X3D in it, but ended up giving that to my son since it's primarily a gaming oriented chip. Full spec: Case: NZXT H7 Flow, ThermalTake 360 Ultra V2 AIO, R9 5950X, 128 (4x32) Gb Vengeance Pro Ram, Sapphire Pulse 6700XT GPU, ThermalTake modular 850 Watt Gold rated PSU, 2x 2Tb Gen 4 M2 nvmes. Is a very snappy build!
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM In that case the specs on MSI's website would be vague (i.e. "REALTEK CODEC") but it clearly mentions ALC897 on the webpage for this board.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM I want to use this processor for my new computer for image processing with DavinciResolve and Blender, it also needs a powerful video card!
just I make a order tomahawk 550 max . I will put ryzen 5600x I need bios updates something ? and then i will put 4060 rtx 8g gigabyte with 3 fan eagle 🦅 do you believe I good choose ? . for psu I chose seasonic 850w focus thenk you
The Tomahawk 550 Max is a good MB, and the 4060 I'd try if you can afford it to get the 12G version. Not necessary but can make a nice difference. Generally Seasonic is a great brand so you should be good there as well. Given the many changes in Tech these days a BIOS update could be necessary but if it is all working well maybe just don't worry about it. The 5600X is still a great CPU and will work great for you. No BIOS update should be needed but its always a possibility. Hope that helps. Thanks
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM OK I make a try to save more money for 12gb gpu ! and something else what ram speed I can put on the build ? actually I'm thinking 💭 to put 3200 but are no if a good choice ! by the way it's my first build on my life 😎 so I need definitely your advise ! you will help a lot because I'm so confused ,I read so many things and finally I'm getting more confused 😕
The best way to pick your parts are through a website called PCPartPicker, it will help you know what parts are compatible, any conflicts, and best places to buy them for best price. It will help answer all your questions. I prefer 3600 speed myself now, but with DDR5 if you go that route it changes a lot. For you though you'll be using DDR4, so 3200 or 3600 will be great. Hope that helps some.
If you plan to use WiFi you will want to have the Antenna, it will work without but the range you will get to your Modem/WiFi will be weak or just not be fast enough otherwise. As for the SATA Cables only if you plan to use 2.5" SSDs will you need them. If your using M.2 NVMe Drives you won't need them at all. Thanks
Plugging into the bottom slot should not slow down the top one or affect the GPU. The PCIe lanes for NVMe storage are separate from those used by the GPU. So, your good.
Hello i have my astro headset, my keyboard and my mouse, all in usb ports of my computer used up and 2 on my case arent used. how many usb ports does this Motherboard come with? i am new to building my pc and i just wanna be on the safe side. all my ports on the back of the pc are taken up so yea
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM wow lot of fan header, thanks! I planing to upgrade from x570 gaming plus to this motherboard, my x570 gaming plus has noisy coil whine when gpu load bout 100watt and so on
Yes the 5800X 3D will work both on B550 and X570 Motherboards, you will need to make sure you have the latest motherboard BIOS so that it can support the CPU. If the BIOS isn't up to date to accept the CPU then it won't be recognized and therefore then would not work. So update the BIOS first before proceeding.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM Thank you! I have one more problem with the MSI mag B550 max wifi. my m.2 ssd is too short for the pcie 4 top slot, why's that? and what could be wrong
The M.2 Slot has a screw in I think it was the 2110 slot, I moved it to the 2280 slot, if yours is missing they should have provided one in the MB Box, if you didn't get one you could try ordering one online or going to your local computer shop and see if they could provide one.

Good info. Thanks
Also I can’t get it back in the box after taking it out
It's crazy it was as dirty as it was, especially for being new. A lot of good info my friend.
Yeah, I'm just hoping it wasn't a used one they charged me new prices for. Thanks
Great explanation and showing of this motherboard Dennis! I didn't think it was simple at all, most tech is over my head!
Well I hope I explained it enough. First time seeing one with AI built onto it. Thanks
ive had this motherboard for close to a year now and to be honest i love the design and it has pretty much everything the casual gamer would need.
Glad you enjoy it. I like it as well. Thanks
Very nice system and unboxing. Good in-depth review of the product too. Have a great week too!
You have a great weekend as well Jeremy. Thanks

Thanks for this. I am RMAing my broken one but WiFi wasn't working on it and watching this I realized I never connected the antenna haha.
An easy thing to do, I've done it before as well. Glad this helped you out. Thanks

Your a gem in the pc community your very honest thx.
Appreciate your great comment. Thanks
hello sir im gonna purchase this board after watching your fantastic review.
It's a great choice, hope it works well for you as well. Thanks
Hoping to pair this with my 5600x and RX 7600 for my first PC. Thanks for the video dude!
It'll work with the 5600X but for the 7600 I believe that's a AM5 CPU so you'll need a different Motherboard. Thanks
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPMhey the rx 7600 is a gpu man😅
I was referring to the Ryzen 5 7600 CPU. There is also a 7600 GPU as well though.

Yes, AM5 socket.

Зависит от МБ, но иногда да. Даже если он распознает процессор, обычно есть еще одно обновление BIOS, которое может потребоваться сделать позже.

What is the audio codex on the motherboard? Is it alc 1200?
Yes, Realtek ALC1200 / ALC1220P Codec. Thanks
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM thanks!
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM I use this motherboard and it's an ALC897 codec there and not ALC1200/1220
There are different revisions to the MBs so there can be different ALC codec's depending on the revision.

Is this motherboard suitable for the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3400 AM4,
or do you have better recommendations?
And what memory can I use with this processor?
Yes it can support the 5950X, not sure if the 3400 is a speed or ? it is AM4 though. For memory this motherboard can do up to 5100(OC) MHz.
