Hi Mike we have bought a new motherboard exactly the one you have right there... We bought a new processor the Ryzen 5800x... We have installed everything as we should... Updated the motherboard the way you showed in another video... But when starting the pc, it does start.. But no screen, the red led light stays stuck on the boot.. We have tried almost everything to try to fix it.. But nothing seems to work... We connot see the bios start up or anything at all... Please hope you could help asap... I am breaking my brain on this now... We bought it from Amazon.. But there is no driver disk with it.. Even the manual is missing also... I hope you have the time to tell us what we could try... thank you so much!!
Well that was not the problem with our pc.. but the problem was the graphic card,, probably because we use to overclock the card on the old computer,, the new one cannot use is properly with the older settings.. or the card is broken but I dont believe thats the case... a friend brought a older graphic card that way we could finally start it up and see the bios... after hour's and hour's searching we finally found it .. Hope this answer helps other people too with the same problem!! But thank you so much for the help!!🎉🎉

Another concise interesting video Mike...have to say as a novice the pcie gen restrictions or conflicts are confusing & maybe limits this board to skilled builders. As supply of latest cpus limited, wen 5th series cpus r released, prices of 3rd gen may rise further, would it be better for novices like me to wait for used 2nd gen cpus and mate to a MSi B450 mb?
B450 and 2000 series still are a potent combo and if they are priced right they can be a very good option and lack the pitfalls in the pcie busmastering. Although they do trail behind in core speed and efficiency so finding the balance between price performance and availability is a little tricky

Hi, Mike. Seems a bit odd that the board has both, a HDMI and DP, but doesn't support the more common APU's. It's also odd, as you said, that it has two LAN ports, but doesn't have WI-FI. Thus this board will not work for my situation, as I need support for the 3200g and WI-FI. But i was supposed to get the Asus b550 plus prime Motherboard at first but microcenter ended up putting this one on and i didn’t notice until recently. i was thinking about going back and telling them, but is there a big difference between the Asus b550 plus prime and the b550 torpedo?
i think you had a lucky escape there, the ASUS boards at this range are okay but the software and bios support is awful. Welcome to the wonderful world of MSI 👍
if it is brand new from the factory yes it will be, but that is almost impossible to guarantee, amazon probably have the fastest stock rotation so i would expect them to have stock that is up to date, but again not 100% guarantee

Has anyone connected a CAt6 to the extra LAN port yet? It would be interesting to see if any gains to internet speeds or if you can download large data files quicker at the same speeds by using this extra LAN port?
@@mikesunboxing No the sky box for instance that connects to your socket has 4 LAN ports + WiFi assuming that other "boxes" have the same number of ports. I suggest 2 CAt6 leads connected from the box to the 2 LAN ports on the B550 tom (1 GB/s & 1 2.5GB/s) effectively giving you 2 internet connections & possibly doubling the speed if they can be bridged. It would be interesting to find out if you could get it to work?
MSI Software did a BIOS update as part of a series of recommended updates. WINDOWS (10pro) decided that it would be a good time to NOT power off when MSI attempted to restart. Bricked the board. Windows is an exceptionally buggy OS. It angers me greatly that I had to buy a new board BECAUSE OF WINDOWS. I'd love to sue them for the damage. Everything was working great until Windows updated - last week, and began to destabilize the system. It would not allow programs to run if they were installed on second M.2. Then it would not fully power off when turned off. I thought I had "that" issue resolved when I used the MSI software to update the board. I've used it before for this and it worked just fine. GD windows. My advice - Becareful.
if it has the ryzen 5000 series ready sticker on the box it will be fine, if not then unless the seller has updated it for you, then you will need to update the board to recognise the new cpu. If you need help with this please join the DIscord tech support chat. here is the link (you need to agree to the rules and click the emoticon to agree)
we have shown a few options so it depends what you want or need, i would generally just go with a cheap USB dongle and an extension USB lead if needed to get a better signal
I've heard that if you connect an M.2 SSD into the 2nd slot on the bottom, the PCIe 3 one, that it will not work if you also have one in the top, PCIe 4 slot. Anyone had this issue?
unless it is really old stock it should do, the 5700x is over 2 years old at this point. I would hope that if you are buying a motherboard the stock should be quite fresh
depends how old the board is, if it has been sitting in a warehouse for a while probably not, but you have bios flash back so it doesn't matter either way

I did all this because the RGB keyboard lights wouldn't turn off when I shutdown the PC. I looked through the BIOS for the setting to disable and couldn't find it, most of the USB settings were pretty ambiguous.
been there myself with the PS2 coming to the rescue
I hope you have the time to tell us what we could try... thank you so much!!
if it says boot then it is displaying an image so the issue is likely the hdmi cable not going all the way in or in the wrong socket

Definitely going to be an upgrade from my omen Mobo with a locked bios can't even change ram speed xmp will not enable on it resets everytime you save.
I have a weird issue with my x570 Tomahawk and an Eluteng USB C to m.2 nvme enclosure (from Amazon) and a wd sn550. The enclosure works on all red and black usb port but don't work with the blue ones. Every others devices I plugged in the blue ports works thou. I was looking to get this board to match with my 3950x if I even get a 5950x. Looks like a solid midrange board. Thanks for the review.

I updated the bios with a Ryzen 9 5950x cpu, and now I have a DRAM red light. I tried several different methods to bring it back to life, but nothing worked.

I was thinking about getting the Gigabite X570 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi, but I can get a ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II and Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN550 NVMe M.2 for about the same price.
Hi, Oletta: In my opinion if you're going for the 3200G and Wi-Fi: AORUS B450 Pro Wifi is the best choice.
@@OlettaLiano Great choice. STRIX is, after MAXIMUS series the best MOBO. I talked about the B450 AORUS Pro Wifi because it was my 1st choice to upgrade, then Ryzen prices went very high and... Here I am: Ci5 10400, TUF H470 Pro Wifi (I knew the power of the dark side. LOL).

GD windows. My advice - Becareful.
yeah windows can be a nightmare, but luckily with the boards with bios flashback buttons the bios can usually be recovered to restore a bricked board
