Bollywood needs to learn from ace filmmakers like Vetri Maaran especially when it comes to creating unique scripts and utilizing talents. Bollywood is hugely an overrated industry that sustains mainly because of glitz and glamour.
That's because audience in north view movies as entertainment. In south, they view it as art.
Pa.Ranjith's views on politics would be different and he's the perfect/best person for this topic. His movies say it all :) And Vetrimaaran views are so good & matured.

Everyone in comment section wants pa Ranjith, he may have started political film in tamil... But personally I think vetrimaaran's vadachennai & asuran are far better than Ranjit's last two kaala and kabali ... Vetrimaaran has established himself as a great director in recent times

Everyone in the comment section, I know pa Ranjith is also a great director. I'm not saying he is not a great director but Vetrimaaran has done great films in recent times and pa Ranjith has done medicore film in recent times. That's my point . Madaras indeed is a great film, of course I know that.
Other than Madras, all his other films are overrated. They deal with important issues and I fully support his views about casteism but he is not a great filmmaker. Good messages does not mean a good film. Even in Madras, the film was a brilliant raw and gritty film but in the climax it turned into a mass hero film because of the way that action scene was shot

nothing wrong with making political films but one of the significant challenges facing the film industry from the very beginning is its lack of diversity in terms of socio-political and philosophical perspectives. The industry is dominated by a closed group of like-minded individuals who are not receptive to filmmakers with different viewpoints, and created their monopoly, and make groomed audience (so much for diversity and free thinking) . Their can be many reasons how this happens, some: influencing artists world view during there training and career ,making close groups and funding specific films. im not talking about specific real world politics but about political diversity in film industries

You're correct... i think verti not address any political ideology because he make movie for mainstream.i noticed political question facing time he always beat around the bush and greeting tamil audiences (put any main political issue gender /caste that time understand tami audiences greatness 😏)...i like vetri direction but like this safe play not helping his growth of director level. That is reason india filmmakers not getting international level.
