I enjoyed the imagery of Tony being directly under the 'Boss' label

    Melfi Mondaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!
This is a great episode. Apparently it’s not uncommon to catch feels in a therapy situation, and they told that story well. Unrealistic as far as codes of ethics goes; anything physical like Tony’s kiss would be a dealbreaker and he’d have been reassigned to another therapist. But I think it was useful dramatically to illustrate how a therapist would react to a patient confusing the job and the rapport with things missing in his life.
Having been in a relationship even longer than Tony and Carmella, I think it’s safe for me to say that the role of sex and physical intimacy is entirely unique to an individual relationship. Tony is highly sexual, and it seems that sex doesn’t mean for him what it does for Carmella. She associates it with love and romance but also with duty. I think for Tony it’s a high, but also a distraction from feelings he isn’t able or willing to process. Vulnerability isn’t just hard for him-it’s forbidden in his world. And Carmella’s a devout Catholic. There are rules, and they have inconceivably high stakes consequences. While this isn’t true or possible for everyone, I think emotional vulnerability + physical intimacy would cement these two. There’s just so much else going on.

In regards to it being her 'duty' I found it interesting that the priest was all 'You practically invited this to happen' (I ad libbed a little). Like he's giving Tony a 'soft pass' for his cheating. WOMAN FAULT, lol.

@@SathReacts Gross, right? It’s her job to keep him in line by fulfilling every need, but she’s not allowed to resent feeling unfulfilled herself. He can cheat, but she can’t nag. He feels badgered-she feels BETRAYED. But I find the audience often has this twisted sympathy for Tony because who would want to go home to that-but it’s a situation he created and one that her religion traps her in. She works and she waits. He breezes in and breezes out. And she’s just supposed to take it-worse, actually: COMPETE. Fucking exhausting.

Sath - Has anyone put "Shogun" on your radar yet? Must-watch.

I saw a commercial for it. I watched the original as a kid, but only recall one particular scene involving prisoners... House of the Dragon & The Boys coming back and people would reaaaaally like The Wire s3. In a perfect world where I have an AI editing my videos I could pump out more.

@@SathReacts As long as it’s on your radar. I saw the original with my old man back in the day too.
