This episode has one of the few technical errors in the whole show. You can't get keys off an HSM, it defeats the whole point of an HSM. They usually even physically weaken the chips in HSMs and use epoxies in the packages so if you try to delid them you just end up with little pieces of broken silicon, impossible to probe. The smarter way of doing it would be they give her firmware to sign or some such. They only need it once and those keys would be immediately revoked when they do a post mortem anyway (in fact I'm not sure even without the afters they wouldn't have because of the collapse of physical security in the building, just to be safe). If your HSM fails or whatever, you issue new keys not work from backups because if you could just back them up they would be, by their very nature, compromised.
